there weren't any calls, made or unmade, that were so different than any other NFL game

i'll agree with others in saying i have never seen a "defender" called for an illegal block when attempting to make a tackle. (in reference to the penalty on hasselbeck tackling taylor on his INT). i honestly was completely baffled by that, and in turn began to question the unbiasedness of NFL officiating. when has a defender ever blocked anyone? they dont block, they get blocked.

if that were the case, roethlisberger should have had it called on him as well in the colts game.

As was stated in game, it is legal to chop the ball carrier.  The "interpretation" was that Hasslebeck cut the blocker next to the ball carrier, which is illegal.
Anyone but Reid.

the low block call was a bad call, but you see bad calls made in every game.  why would the Super Bowl be any different?

stupid story...

after the game last night i was flipping channels around and came across your normal QVC pimping the suberbowl stuff, and they were selling the tshirts and sweat shirts and jackets for the steelers...and the host says, all XXL sizes are sold out for the shirts and jackets.

stupid fatass steeler fans.

I need some help for a contest I was running.  Can somebody tell me:

Which team got the 1st penalty?
Which team got the 1st sack?

thanks.

Stillers got the first sack.  I think the first penalty was a false start by TE Miller of the Stillers.

I turned my phone off last night so I didn't have to hear from my Steeler-fan friends. Surprisingly, I got this e-mail today:

QuoteBig Ben played horribly. The refs made some questionable calls in the Steeler's favor. Except for Parker's 75 yard TD run, Seattle shut down our running game. They beat us in time of possession and total yards gained.
We're lucky to have won. I happy, of course, but it feels a little hollow.

Makes me wonder how much I would have enjoyed this if it was an Eagles win, as it would always be tainted by controversy.

the Big Ben play was a touchdown, the ball with cradled in his elbow and his elbow crossed the plane

You may be right, but I think anyone who is "100% sure" either way is a buffoon. It was as close as close gets.

My initial thought watching the play live was that he didn't get it and it looked like the linesman was going to signal him down.  As he was running towards the pile he then signaled touchdown.

IMO, he signaled TD when Rothlisburger placed the ball in the endzone after he was down.  And you could clearly see that on the replay.  The ball came loose for a second from under Roth and then he pushed it across the goal line.

I think that regardless of what the call was on the field, the ref got the replay right by not overturning it.  There simply wasn't enough visual evidence to swing his decision either way.  I think that's one of the few things that he got right.

Reported that Joe Montana & Terry Bradshaw skipped the game/ceremony over money.

Ghey.  Especially for Bradshaw, being that his former team was in the game.
