Call me a big Hoyda, but I feel bad for Donovan

McNabb's had a rough year, but who knows how much pain he's actually been in- how much he's just been trying to gut it out.

Hopefully he can come back next season, without the petulance of TO, and start throwing bombs to Brown, Lewis, and Skinny  :paranoid.

I also hope that he can win at least one SB during his career to shut up the WIPidiots who continuously rip him.  I just pray that SB will be with the Eagles- I can fully see him finally get sick of Philly, leaving to another team, and having to watch him win it all with someone else.

He's a class act and always has been.

He is indeed and we all owe him respect.

Agreed.

I don't think a competent fan would disagree with those statements.  :yay

Speaking of competent fans that love DMac, where's IGY been?   :paranoid

The national press is what is really disgusting me now.  I heard that geek Chris Kasilious(sp?) on ESPN radio this morning.  What a tool.  He was trying to say how McNabb has lost this team and that no one in the locker room will support him.  He said McNAbb is the company man and was going off on the "We're a better team without TO" so why are the birds 0-3 without him.   He said the birds are toast next year as well basically blaming McNabb and Reid.

Guess the Colts being 10-0 and Seattle 8-2 ain't good fodder.

Well, I've always said that McNabb will be like Mike Scmidt was--the least appreciated athlete in the city and then when he leaves, and is replaced then the fans will finally realize what they had. The Phillies have had what, 17 years to replace Schmidt? They had 1 replacement in that time, but the guy wasn't happy.

Getting back to Donovan is now, supposedly, players were pissed because he wasn't in NY on Sunday to watch the game. In his interview yesterday, which was in today's Inky, he said, "I will support the team and they know that. The FOCUS RIGHT NOW SHOULD BE THE PLAYERS IN UNIFORM ON THE FIELD." In other words, I don't want to be there, because if I am, the media will be asking ME questions, instead of, maybe, Mike McMahon.

The other thing he's been ripped about is his appearance on Letterman that he canceled. But what the MEDIA DIDN'T PUBLICIZE UNTIL TODAY was the fact that he was supposed to be in New York all day today in a promotional tour for EA Sports. The Letterman gig was just a side trip while he was there--but he canceled that as well.

The only thing that concerns me is that he may have lost the team.  I don't know if there is any truth to the rumors that teammates have said they should let TO play now that Don is out of the picture.  If that's true, it doesn't bode well for the future, and suggests there was a real divide in the locker room all along.
Anyone but Reid.

SunMo

i don't think he's lost the locker room because i still think guys like Dawk, Trotter, Runyan, Tra are still behind him, and if those guys are the rest of the locker room should fall into line.

What scares the hell out of me is the prospect of McMahon going 4-2 or 5-1 the rest of the season...AJ farging Feely all over again.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I would love that. A return to team football. Who cares what the idiot masses say, I want the team to win. Plus then we could trade McMahon to Miami for a second rounder.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

You know, I thought of that, but I also thought McMahon had a 1 year deal - turns out it is a 2 year deal.  Go Jim Mike!

The thing with McNabb is -- he has as more class in his pinkyfinger than Schmidt does in his whole body. But I definitely think that's a good comparison.

It's team policy that injured players don't travel with the team for road games.

Because they're on IR?  They aren't rehabbing for a comeback this season?
