IF this team manages to win all of its home divisonal games, and in my opinion they should, the playoffs should be a reality. If they don't, they're farged.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

1. no, they are not even close to being good enough to win the bowl.
2. we make the bowl, anything can happen.

Those two statements contradict each other.

Who scares me in the NFC?  Hmmm... let's see.  Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Washington, Carolina, and maybe even Chicago.  I don't know how you could think this team could make a run through the playoffs.  They can't run block, and they can't defend the pass.  Even if they show some improvement, it will have to be drastic.

Like I've said, they can change my mind with convincing performances (and the wins to go with them) the next two weeks.  But losing to the taterskins made going 2-0 the next two weeks a necessity, and not a luxury.

they are not good enough. but, anything can happen. its 1 game. the eagles are not the best team in the nfl, by any means. but, because the conference isnt strong, they could get into the bowl. its 1 game.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

My first post game thought in my last post for a while is,

.........what the farg was Dmac thinking?? He looked great all game and choked on his last pass. How the hell did he not see all those taterskins??

You know, you guys might want to let go of the idea that the NFC isn't strong. The Eagles look like complete crap compared to the other NFC teams and they still managed to go 3-1 against four very good AFC teams.

New York, Carolina, Atlanta, Seattle and possibly Tampa Bay are solid teams and the taterskins and Cowboys have already beaten us. The NFC is strong. Like it or not.

Simple.  No one was open.  4th down.  He had to throw it towards the end zone and hope for a miracle.  Personally, I would have lobbed it up, but oh well.

I'm looking for some sign of sarcasm in there. Not finding any. And as such...

You've got to be kidding me. That is the worst excuse I've ever heard for an inexcusable play. He threw the ball to the spot on the field with the most taterskins standing around. On top of that, he threw it directly into the defender's chest (which is pretty much what he's done on every INT he's thrown this year, a tipped pass or two aside). It was a stupid, panicky pass which makes no sense since he had time in the pocket. DMac is a good leader, and I applaud him playing through pain and competing, blah blah blah, but the dude made a couple of stupid mistakes last night that cost us points and ultimately a shot at the game.

This statement makes my eyes bleed.  Are you farging kidding me.  We annihilated the entire division last year, lost only one game to the NFC, a mail-in game to the Rams with our scrubs.  Now, we're hoping we can get lucky in the playoffs and maybe squeak by into the SB??!!  AAAAAHHHHHHH!! :boom
UN-FARGIN-ACCEPTABLE!  Where's my axe?
Anyone but Reid.

Who cares that last year was so easy to waltz through the regular season?

That has zilch to do with this season. What if they eek their way through the regular season and catch fire in the playoffs?

They are 4-4. Not 2-7 or 3-6 or some shtein.

Dominance is nice. I enjoyed last year immensely. But this year ain't over.

he was about to get sacked so he just threw the ball.

Part of the problem is that I was expecting an interception or a sack on that play.

Dude, I won't root for them any less hard then ever, and I'll be devastated by every loss, esp the division ones.  If they make it, great.  But I don't expect them to win on Monday, or the following Sunday.  And 4-6 is cooked.

PhillyPhreak54

I think they beat DAL & NYG and finish 10-6.

PhillyPhreak54

One thing that I thought about today...

Remember the days when the word on Donovan McNabb was that he would not attempt to fit a ball into a tight spot? Remember the constant drilling by Childress & Reid to be safe and if something isn't there to check it down and take what the defense is giving you? Well, that philosophy is still there somewhat. But this year we are seeing McNabb taking more risks. I remember being one who said I wanted to see McNabb try to fit balls into tight spots more often.

Well, he's doing that this year. He's already matched his INT total from last year and he is looking to try to force things more often. I like the aggressiveness and I can't really rip him for it since it was something I (and a lot of others) were looking for him to do.

And I know I said this at half-time last night, but Ill say it again...

I like what Reggie Hodges did last night. The knock on him was his leg strength, which we saw. But his directional punting and hang-time were nice. Sean Landeta and Lee Johnson weren't boomers, but they had the placement kicks down pat. As long as he kicks like this the rest of the year, I'll be happy.

And allow me to rip Jose Cortez...he of the long kickoffs. Nice job giving them a long kickoff after getting that FG, you bum. His short kick allowed Washington to get that long return which set up the go ahead TD.

FU Cortez.

How soon till Akers can resume kickoff duties? Cortez just blows.
