I just logged in to check my e-mail and I came across one from the Eagles asking me to update my information for the Season Ticket Waiting List.

Fine, sure, no problem.

The only thing is, I've never joined the waiting list.   :o

We've had season tickets in my family for nearly 40 years, and to the best of my knowledge, I'm still a season ticket holder.

:-D

Anyone else get one of these?  Seriously... very strange.   :paranoid

BTW: Here's the text of the e-mail:

They probably sent one out to everyone who has an e-mail address registered in the PE.com database.

I am glad you posted this though. Because I have a new e-mail address from when I originally put my name on that list back in the day. So I went to AOL and got the e-mail and changed all of my information to where I am now.

Hopefully I have a good spot on the waiting list. I think I put my name on there in 2000 or 2001 somewhere around then.

Interesting. Somebody over at Igglephans also noticed something strange, but in a different way:

I got one too and I think it may be a fake.

At first I didn't think anything of it because I am on the waiting list.  So I clicked on the link provided and it opened up a secure page that looks exactly like the Eagles website.  The only problem was I took notice to the website address.

First a new window opens with this address:

http://smr.mm.ticketmaster.com/track?type=click&mailingid=125097&messageid=123827&databaseid=&serial=11303635607773&emailid=millerwa76@yahoo.com&userid=231654717&extra=&&&https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/home.htmI?team=eagleswait&l=EN&STAGE=1

Then when the page finishes downloading the address changes to this:

https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/home.htmI?team=eagleswait&l=EN&STAGE=1

Something about it just strikes me as wrong.

I'm super paranoid about that crap now because a few months ago I got an email asking me to update my paypal account and I damn near did.  Luckily I had also received an email from paypal that same day making me aware of what was going on.  People had constructed a page that looked identical to paypal and were asking me to input my bank info, ssn, etc, etc.  I noticed a slight difference in the address between the fake paypal and the real paypal pages so I always pay close attention to that type of stuff now.

Interesting.  FWIW I never got an email but then again I got my ass on the waiting list so long ago that the email addy that it has is probably dead. :(

Either way, the e-mail is legit in my book.  I checked out the links above and got the originating IPs and they go back to Ticketmaster Online CitySearch, Inc. so the redirect is still within TicketMaster's domain and not to some yahoo in Russia.

Now I'll have to see if I can find my old WL info...

I don't want anybody else

Wingspan

you mean they are intending on updating the info on the mystery waiting list?

yeah, i'll beleive it when i see it.

i just assume i'll get season tickets right after their next 3-13 season. like i should have the 1st time, except i was just graduating from college at the time
Connection Problems

Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Unfortunately I'm pretty much expecting the same thing.  That's about the only way I see the market for scalped tickets to the Linc taking a nosedive. :(

Even if it isn't legit they don't have any vital information.

Name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

No SSN or DOB or anything like that.

And if it is real, then they must've hacked into the old stuff because my old address, phone number and e-mail address were in there.

It is legit, IMO.

I joined the waiting list about 18 months ago, and I didn't get an email.

May be fake.  But, then again, it may not be.

Looking at the source code, when the form is submitted, it goes to a processing script located on the same server, and since it's within the Ticketmaster domain (not something like "forms-ticketmaster.com"), it looks real.  The only thing that bugs me is that the header graphic and the link to the MB are outdated....  :sly
