David Lee was on Stern this morning talking about it. Sounds like he's going to play music. I don't know that he'll last all that long but he's got the energy for it.

Rock's been dead for more than a decade. Not all that surprising that the rock stations are dying now too.

Stern is done, he hasn't tried to do a show in years.  O&A are the way to go.

While I think that O&A are weak, Stern at this point doesn't deserve such a ridiculous following. Same shtein over and over again.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

He's been restricted from doing anything remotely entertaining on the airwaves. The FCC has had their microscope shoved up his ass for the last 20 years. Once he's on satelitte he'll be free to do as he pleases. I plan on getting Sirius once I move home to Philly.

INFINITY BROADCASTING ANNOUNCES STATIONS TO FEATURE JAY SEVERIN

Former Political Advisor's Three-Hour Talk Show To Be Broadcast On KRLD-AM, WPHT-AM, WJFK-FM And KMOX-AM

Infinity Broadcasting today announced that four of its stations will broadcast former political advisor Jay Severin's three-hour weekday talk show. KRLD-AM in Dallas, WPHT-AM in Philadelphia, WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C., and KMOX-AM in St. Louis will premiere Severin's show on Tuesday, January 3, 2006. (check local listings for program times)

The show will be a smart, fast, thoughtful, provocative, high-energy insight and opinion program on the hottest issues of the moment, including challenging one-on-one discussions with listeners.

For 20 years, Severin was in private practice as a national political and media consultant, advising candidates and incumbents in major campaigns for Governor, U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and President. He currently hosts a top-rated afternoon drive program in Boston.

Severin is a former MSNBC political advisor, appearing frequently on various NBC News programs, and also was a featured columnist for MSNBC.com. His extensive media work also includes contributions to the BBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, CNBC, CNN, and foreign television networks in Ireland, Japan and Australia, as well as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek and Business Week. He has authored op-ed articles for the New York Times, Boston Globe and San Francisco Chronicle, and is a frequent guest on the "IMUS IN THE MORNING" radio program.

Severin was a 2004 nominee for the Marconi Award for Radio Personality of the Year, the radio industry's highest distinction.

Severin spent considerable time during his teenage years engaged in the Vietnam era war protests with his early political/media mentors Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. He currently resides in his family's Sag Harbor home.

that's his excuse, but he's done.  he's trying to still be shocking but he's rich and he doesn't care about the listeners anymore.  when he goes to Sirius he's only going to do a show for 4 days a week with tons of vacation time.

good luck with inferior technology and subpar programming if you buy Sirius.

O&A own Howard.

Pa. Court Throws Out Salesman's Bias Award

By MARK SCOLFORO Associated Press Writer

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- A state court on Thursday overturned a six-figure award to a former ad salesman for Philadelphia Eagles radio broadcasts who was told to "dress very white."

The Commonwealth Court panel reversed the decision by the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission to award Shawn Brooks more than $600,000 in back and front pay in February 2005.

Brooks claims a book the Philadelphia Eagles Radio Network distributed at a 2001 sales meeting amounted to a hostile work environment. "New Dress for Success," by John T. Molloy, said most blacks are anti-establishment, advised black salesmen to "dress very white," and said solid-blue suits have "a very negative association for blacks."

Brooks, who is of mixed race, complained to a supervisor but got no response, according to the Human Relations Commission. The commission's chairman called it an "egregious" case of stereotyping and bias.

The state court disagreed.

"While there is no question that the distribution of the book at issue here was unprofessional, insulting and insensitive, it was not severe and pervasive" as in other court cases, Judge Renee Cohn Jubelirer wrote.

The court also said the commission improperly allowed Brooks to supplement his evidence with other allegations of harassment that were not listed in his complaint.

Attorneys for Brooks and the radio network said they had no immediate comment because they hadn't read the decision. The radio network is affiliated with WYSP-FM, and their parent companies are Viacom Inc. and Infinity Broadcasting Corp.
