Speaking of Rosario Dawson...  ;)  have you seen the movie "Ash Wednesday" yet?

She's in it in a supporting role but the movie really is a good one.  Ed Burns from "Brothers McMullen" fame directed it and is the star but it's completely different from any other movie he's done (read: not sappy and maudlin).

I give it 3 stars out of 4.

is "sideways" any good?
it's coming on hbo at 8pm & i can't decide whether or not to watch it.

Think 'Swingers' with older guys on a wine tasting tour and a wedding mixed in.

While that may be an ok analogy, Swingers was awesome, while Sideways was mildly enjoyable at best and boring at worst.

Elizabethtown (no, not fargin E-town PA) was a pretty good movie...surprisingly.  It has a lot of humor in it.  I was forced to go see it by my woman and i have to say that i was entertained.  If you've ever had to deal with a situation like the one in the movie, you may laugh more than most.  I've dealt with something exactly like that (as far as the death of his father is concerned) so i could relate.  Anyway...not too bad.

Rented The Door in the Floor, because nothing else was in.  Surprisingly good. Def. worth the rent.  It was a Focus Films movie, so it was alittle strange.  :yay :yay

I saw Sideways last night and I liked it. It was listed as a comedy in the guide, but I didn't laugh once, but then I looked up info online and it's listed as a comedy/drama which makes more sense. Good movie though. I'd understand if someone found it boring though.

I watched Elizabethtown this past weekend with my girl. Kirsten Dunst plays a psycho chick in that movie if most of you don't pick up on that and that's the only reason the movie works. Orlando Bloom either doesn't care or is too naive to pick up on that. His body is probably found scattered among the midwest in the sequel.  Reminds me of this one chick who will not stop calling. Scary.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Watched Kingdom of Heaven on DVD on Friday night while drunk. Don't know whether it was the booze effect, but I found it incredibly boring. And I finally saw Spiderman last night. What a load of bollocks that film is too. Why were so many action scenes in pitch black? I know it was meant to be at night etc... but you couldn't see anything.

Watched City of God this weekend. Intense. Really good but completely devestating at times. Recommended but not a 'stay in and have a good time' movie.

Watched 'Sahara' Saturday night.  Penelope Cruz doesn't wear skimpy-enough clothes to make it worth a watch.

i saw AVP on HBO the other night, i give it a "meh"

good special effects, but really quite stupid.

And you went into watching that expecting something else?

not really, but both Alien and Predator are good movies on their own, but combined not so much

I actually enjoyed AVP a lot more than I ever expected to. Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection were steaming piles of fecal water compared to the first two and Predator 2 was pretty awful as well. Thus my expectations for AVP were extremely low, but I ended up being moderately entertained.

Of course, after 12 years of trying to come up with a storyline to make into a movie, they should have done better.
