1. Donovan McNabb
2. David Akers (16-14, we shoulda won)
3. Offensive Line

There's your culprits. Nothing else.

QB Eagles

Let's do a review of Spads' article today:

QuoteI think you will see Jevon Kearse in Vick's face all game because the Eagles have an advantage with Kearse up front.
QuoteMcNabb, I think, is going to have time to throw the football against a tough defense
QuoteI think Lamar Gordon is going to play a lot and make a significant contribution.
QuoteI think Shawn Andrews is going to open eyes against Rod Coleman.

QuoteI think tonight is going to be an Eagles kind of night.

A good point, Larry.  The season isn't lost in week 1.  But still, this Atl team is zesty, and that's being generous.

Missed <50 yd FGs, bad decisions by McNabb.  The one thing you can say, the 49ers are hating life.  Because these are correctable mistakes, and we don't lose 2 in a row often.
Anyone but Reid.

OK, who wants to argue that TO isn't willing to sell out?

Yeah, yeah, I'm drunk and pissed off.  And McNabb played terrible, but, TO did not give his all, and I think it was his ego coming through, and I'm really sick of the apologists.

Of course, Akers certainly didn't help his contract issues by missing 2 FGs that would've won this farging game.  farging terrible from all sides. :boom

MMH- I have to admit, there were several plays where I was wondering where TO's head was.  I thought it may have been my imagination from all of the summer's festivities, but now that you said it, I saw some of that as well.

Hate to think that, but time will tell, I guess.

Not having Trotter sucked.

Offensive line was piss poor

McNabb's 2 fumble were mental errors, cant do that

Akers....hitting just 1 of those fg's changes things.

It's 1 game....not the end of the world. I still dont see how we wont get homefield in the playoffs. Bring the Falcons in here, in the cold, for the game.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I think the Oline should get the biggest share of blame.

They deserve their fare share of criticism as well but for I think McNabb made some terrible decisions tonight. He held the ball too long at times and during this last drive he had the chance to go one on one in the open field with a defensive lineman and he chose to throw. Result: Pass knocked down.

You know, I'm going to take this comment back because even though McNabb didn't come through in the clutch, the Eagles shouldn't have been behind in the first place.  2 missed FG's were the difference in this game.

farg it, it was a team loss.  Plain and simple.

Huh? Sleep it off, bro. Where didn't he give his all? What'd he have? 7 for 119?

It'll be Poetic. We'll get the fargers back at home in the playoffs, and rub their faces in it again. shtein

not likely since they have the tie breaker now

The Falcons won't win the South....

WEST is GOD

I don't know if you guys thought the same thing, but when Trotter got kicked out of that game, that really fired up the Falcons and completely sucked the wind out of the Eagles. The Eagles played with ZERO heart tonight.

absolutely none.

and I still think Mcnabb has something wrong with him. This was his WORST game in a year. He played TERRIBLE tonight.
THIS SEASON IS OVER AND ANDY'S WORLD IS GRIDL

Offseason needs: 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 OL, 2 LBs, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 KR.

they were outplayed by a mediocre team with no passing game.
lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

I think both teams were juiced up at kickoff. When the Falcons (and Eagles mistakes) shut down the first Eagles offensive drive is when they got the bulk of the momentum. If the Eagles defense had played first, things might have been different.

I thought the D came on strong, but not having Trot did hurt. I give it to Atlanta. They seemed to be in better condition, stuck to their game plan better, and just played a smarter, tougher game tonight. They get this one, but we'll see them again real soon, and then, we'll have the chip on our sholders.
