Just because they sign Price doesn't mean they'll put him over Lewis and Brown, or he'll be able to pass them. I think Price is better, but its such a minor addition to the football team that isn't irrelevent if they even sign someone. I think we can manage just fine with either/both McMullen and Perez in the 4 spot. But since a WR would be coming in here for a Banner cap-friendly deal, it can't hurt.

There are 15 teams who are going to be looking at him, according to a few sources. Why would he go to a team where he doesn't know if he isn't going to have a chance to be the 1 or 2...and possibly not even the 3?

Common sense please.

I would bet that at least 12 of those 15 teams don't have any serious intention of signing him. That would all almost certainly be preliminary interest only.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Lets see, maybe he wants to play for a championship-calibur team?

Personally I think he'll go to the Cowboys and Bledsoe, who he has his best years with.

MDS

If the reports are true he wants to come here, maybe he accepts less money and a smaller role. Probably not true, but it's just a comment. I'm fine with McCants, I'm fine with Perez/McMullen. Price would be nice, but not needed.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

I still think Warrick would have been a better option than any of the other stiffs (including Pinky) but McCants is a better option than either Price or Twiggy.

Whatever... he's still going to be the fourth WR option until he gets familiar with the offense, so it's no big deal in any case.

Zanshin

Exactly.  Regardless of whom they bring in, it'll be a move for depth.  Expectations that any player they bring in will make any major impact this year are just silly.

phattymatty

That's crazy.  How can a guy who couldn't make the taterskins not have a major impact on the best team in the NFL?

Hmmm, where has anyone on here said he'd be anything more than a solid #4 WR?

Ditto.

Especially since according to Lightbulbhead
Quote
Price check: Approximately 15 teams checked in on the availability of former Falcons wide receiver Peerless Price. He's mapped out a preliminary plan. He will visit the Miami Dolphins Thursday and then see the Dallas Cowboys Friday. He has some West Coast visits for over the weekend and next week and he would like to see the Eagles. Price would like to get something done by over the weekend or early next week.

hm, AJ Feeley play fakes to rickey williams, and throws an out to peerless price.

I said it.  He's an amazing fit.

There's no way we don't win the SB now that we have McCants.  For these following reasons:

1.  Since he's not that good, he won't hinder the growth of our current WRs, which are the best possible options the Eagles could ever have.

2.  He's very cheap so we can keep all 15 mil of our cap money and show all of the other teams how smart we are.

3.  All other available WRs are total headcases and we can't have another cancer on the team like TO.

Oh...well he's just bitter because they didn't go after Price.  At least that's what it would seem to me.  As far as i'm concerned, McCants could be one of those guys that needed a change of scenery, not to mention his entire team sucked and he had worthless QB's throwing to him since he was a rookie.  I think he could benefit from McNabb and TO.

new coaches every year
New QBs throwing him the ball every year
New oline every year

ZERO consistency in this guy's career since he got there. A change of scenery and a top QB/Coaching staff that have been together for years should help him. I'm not saying this guy is the missing piece to them winning the Super Bowl, but slamming him is retarded.

well now he has another new coach, another new QB, and another new o-line.

:yay

i couldnt care less about this guy. but being deacivated on the skins is not a sign i see as a positive. (by deductive logic, james thrash is better than he is)

he'll never see the field as an eagle unless someone gets hurt.

WEST is GOD

Of course he'll see the field. They wouldn't sign him if he wouldn't.
