As rjs explained, he was going to get cut mostly because he'd proven to be a mediocre leading receiver, but he was getting paid like a starter.  Instead of waiting for the inevitable, the taterskins gave us a 5th rounder for him, which we eventually used to trade around and end up with Todd Herremans, a very promising rookie LT.  Thanks again!

Dude, what's with all the namecalling?  I'm just saying if he wasn't cut he would have been your number two or maybe three guy.  In Washington he's actually the #4 but Jacobs is hurt (again).  You guys keep putting him down and saying he sucks when the fact of the matter is that two years ago he was the best reciever you had, better than all the other guys until T.O. came to town.  If he's really that bad that is a terrible indictment of the rest of the recieving corps on your team.
