i think you all are writing off Simon a little too easily.  he didn't play well early in the year but really picked up his play in the 2nd half of the season. 

while i am not saying they wouldn't be ok without Simon, he is not some Brandon Whiting type player who is insignificant

Just cut him. He'll be so out of shape that he won't be able to help another team significantly and probably won't get much of a contract. He's taking up a roster spot. Cut his ass.

And why didn't he play well to start the year? Because he held out of camp, got fat and disgusting, played like he was fat and disgusting and was ineffective. Didn't show/prove that he was worth even CLOSE to what he's asking for.

That injury was a symptom of the problem PG mentions, not the problem itself.  A bona fide franchise DT worth the money this moron is asking for keeps himself in playing shape year round.  That's just part of the deal if you want the big big bucks.

no, she said that he was fat and out of shape from holding out last year.  he didn't hold out, he came to camp, got injured, and couldn't practice and didn't get into game shape.

but through all that, you both are acknowledging that when his is in shape, he is a dominating DT.  i contend that he will come to camp in shape this year and play well.  people on here act like he is the 4th DT and can easily be replaced.
