I live in Green Bay area and the local TV news and talk radio are confirming talks between the Birds and the Pack for Robert Ferguson. Hollis Thomas and picks, or Simoneau and picks, or Corey Simon. Nothing is concrete of course but local chatter is loud. Side bar what's with annoying ESPN graphics noise last nite? I t sounded like someone haucking a lugey... Did anyone else catch this?  ???

That rumor's been floated for weeks now.

Until I see Ferguson sitting next to Reid & Banner at a press conference at the NovaCare Complex signing his new deal, I ain't buyin' it.

After seeing the Eagles' existing receivers last night, I don't think they'd give a ton up for a guy the caliber (or lack thereof) of Robert Ferguson.  Maybe Simoneau straight up, but not a valuable defensive lineman.

Wouldn't that trade be ironic? Simoneau, who blocked the punt that led to the Falcons handing the Packers their first ever playoff defeat AT HOME, being dealt to the them?

Sims and lower than a fifth would be a steal.  Wouldn't do it for Hollis, though.

Iknow it's been out there but I thought you'd be interested to know that it's active in this media market as well. They were interviewing Ferguson about it even.

If one reporter reads it somewhere, it spreads to that city, etc....bad, inaccurate reporting is like the plague. The national media ran with the "Eagles signed Kevin Johnson" crap a few years ago too. :-D

It would be a shock if the Packers and Eagles traded, they certainly dont ever talk to each other.

this doesnt sound like a guy who is going to be traded.  Unless they are just trying to puff up his status to get more from the Eagles.

QuotePackers.com reports Green Bay Packers WR Robert Ferguson said he's over the vicious hit he took at the end of the 2004 season and ready to roll for the 2005 season. "I'm real anxious right now," he said. "I want to see how I compare to the rest of the receivers in the league." Ferguson has set lofty goals for 2005. "I feel I'm the No. 1 receiver," he said. "Anything less than 70 catches or 1,000 yards is a poor year for me this year." "Fergie's a very integral part of our football team. He has developed into a very, very good receiver," head coach Mike Sherman said. "I think he's going to have a heck of a year."

The only thing is---Sherman's not making the GM decisions for the Packers any longer. The Packers are getting old fast--and Ted Thompson is said to want to beef up their drafts.

under normal circumstances id agree...but with the extenuating circumstances involved this year i cant see GB providing the eagles with a WR

Ferguson is at best the 3rd receiver on the Packers.  Him thinking he's better than Walker and/or Driver is delusional.
