You also told us that Quinton Caver was going to be a great player and how about your boy: Bobbie Williams. Gonna come back and tell us you were right about how awesome they are?

Lets see what you had to say about TO in the super bowl.  link

Yeah, you really showed us, Bristow.

:-D

BTW: I don't give a shtein what T.O. does at this point.  His presence helped put the Eagles over the top and get to the Super Bowl.  I finally got to experience what it's like to see the Eagles in the biggest game in the world and T.O. performed exceptionally in it.  If you're any kind of Eagles fan, that should be all that matters.

So put that in your crack pipe and smoke it.

I still love bringing back old threads and wondering if i should drop an "i told you so"

I don't see were this makes any point as to your thoughts about how posters here flipped flopped so much. I wouldn't trade anything for last season, no matter what TO does this year. And yes, we are a much, much better team with him on the field. Off the field has absolutly nothing to do with anything on the field, and TO's numbers last year back that up.

It took him only 13 games to completly take over the Eagles record book for recievers, and there are the few who want to say that we aren't a better team with him on the field?!?!?!? You guys need help, seek it please.

Shorebird,

I will not deny that watching TO perform last season was special.  There has never been a receiver in my Eagles-watching life that has equaled his production and entertainment last season.  And I agree, based on talent alone, the Eagles are undoubtedly a better team with Owens.

However, this season is not just about on-field action.  There are so many issues surrounding TO, and we cannot just assume that it will have no impact on the performance of Owens, or of the team that must constantly be bombarded with TO's hijinks and the resulting media frenzy.

IF Terrell Owens could eliminate, or even severely curtail, the off-field antics and me-first team-destructive behavior, I would love to see him back.  But, given his antics and apparent denial that there is anything more important than him, the Eagles, even factoring in the downgrade in talent, could indeed be better off this year without him.

The best scenario, of course, would be that TO and the FO come to some sort of detente, and can co-exist for a full season and post-season.  This team could be deadly with a relatively peaceful TO on the flank.

The worst scenario is NOT a team without TO.  It would be a team that tries to placate TO, who continues his behavior, and even escalates it until Reid and the FO finally have enough and either release, trade, or suspend him for the season.  With him on or off the team, this would become the central theme for every week, win or lose, and especially if McNabb and the offense struggles without him.  TO could sit in the background, saying every week, "If they had just paid me a fair wage, I'd be there catching balls for them, blah blah blah."  Or they try to ride out the storm and TO plays the petulant, spoiled NFL egomaniac and McNabb, Reid, and the team have to constantly answer questions about TO.  Include the "inside rumor" following a loss that TO didn't give his best effort because he is unhappy, and the whole season could explode.

I do think that, if TO plans on entering the season as a total disruption until he gets his way, it is better for the Eagles to part ways sooner, rather than later.  This team is good-  no, not as good talent-wise without TO, but still good- and don't need to self-destruct this season because of Terrell Owens.

The only thing I can say to that post Geo, is that one way or the other, it will all come to bear on Wed. Reid won't let it get to the point were it pours over into the regular season. I'll bet TO gets an ultimatum on Wed."Shut up and play, prove your worth, or hit the road and sit unless we find a team ready to deal for you."
