I think that the Eagles need to get another quality WR in here for the "What If" factor.  What if TO goes off during the season?  What if TO walks out the 5th week?  Any what if scenario.  We might as well get one now just in case.

LOL.  Can you imagine Reid bringing in Koren Robinson?

LOL.  Can you imagine Reid bringing in Terrell Owens?

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rewind 15 months...

And seeing how well that is working out...do you think he'd risk it with a guy who isn't even a good WR let alone a great one?

Koren might even be in rehab and not available to play.

Wingspan

i decided i dont want any players. none at all. cut all of them.

i want the season to be the head coaches picking plays on madden 06 and having it televised.

I don't think Robinson, an alkie who drops more balls than Pinkston did, would solve any of our problems.

Susquehanna Birder

McMullen is the Eagles' designated ball-dropper...and his roster spot is taken.   :paranoid

I think it's time Andy bites the bullet and gives Na Brown a holla...

Let me preface this by saying I like Terrell Owens.

That said, he has been in the wrong a lot lately.

Owens was wrong to demand a new contract from the Philadelphia Eagles one year after getting a one last spring.

Owens was wrong to publicly rip quarterback Donovan McNabb for getting winded and puking late in last February's Super Bowl -- even if what he said was true.

Owens was wrong to sit out the Eagles' offseason work.

Now it appears the tension rubber band between the Eagles and Owens, one that had been stretched as far as it could go, has finally snapped.

T.O. has gone home.

Word is out that the Eagles sent him there, angered over his refusal to take part in an autograph session Sunday with the rest of the receivers.

That is a no-no in the NFL. When players start getting preferential treatment of any kind, it causes discourse in the locker room. Andy Reid couldn't let Owens get away with it.

Consistency is a coaching necessity. Not all coaches adhere to that, but if you want your players behind you, you can't play favorites.

Reid is to be saluted if Owens' refusal to take part in the team function prompted the reported heated exchange that led to Owens leaving. Reid, who doesn't seem to let any outside influences bother him, won't let T.O. ruin his team's chances to get back to a Super Bowl.

No word on how long the list was of Eagles players volunteering to drive him out of town.

Do the Eagles need Owens? On the field, you bet. And that's why they had been so patient until Wednesday. Even as he sat out with a groin injury -- some speculated it was a result of not receiving a new contract -- the Eagles were patient. Reid even defended the receiver last week to clear up any misconception about the injury. It was real, the Eagles said.

Owens is a sensational player. And, truth be known, he's a pretty good guy. He's also a tireless worker when it comes to staying in shape, so even missing the offseason work is not that big a deal.

But he does things his way, and that doesn't always sit well with people.

Nobody is above the team, no matter how well you play, no matter how important you think you are to the team.

Owens' relationship with McNabb is strained to the point they don't talk anymore. Sixteen months ago, they were spending their days together after the Eagles traded for Owens, a happy-go-lucky set of newlyweds.

Move over Brad and Jen. The T.O.-McNabb divorce is the hottest one going.

When I visited Owens last fall, he seemed to be bonding with his new teammates, playing cards in a back room with young players who seemed to gravitate to him.

At this year's training camp, word is he was alone a lot. And that's not because of his money demands. Players stay out of that. It was the comments about McNabb that had to turn the Eagles players against Owens, since he violated NFL Commandment No. 1: Thou shalt not call out a teammate in the media.

It will be interesting to see how superstar agent Drew Rosenhaus, who has an honorary spot in the ESPN Hall of Fame, will spin this latest development. Rosenhaus took on Owens as a client this year and promised to push forward for a new contract. Of course, Rosenhaus doesn't get any money from anything he does with T.O. unless he gets a new deal.

So he pushed hard. And the Eagles wisely didn't budge, causing all the trouble.

Yet when Owens reported to camp, it appeared all the tension was gone. Of course, nobody expected it to stay that way.

Owens will be back. He's smart enough to not leave money sitting on the table.

The Eagles will take him back. They're smart enough to know they can't win a Super Bowl with Greg Lewis as their top receiver.

The two sides will reconcile. There will be smiles. They'll be talk about no hard feelings. And there will be touchdowns scored and games won.

But the big question is whether Owens can right all of his wrongs and win back the love of his teammates and Reid.

He sure has a lot of work to do.

I think Prisco is right  :paranoid It's too much of a fiasco at this point to try to analyze it. I wish everyone would shut up about it and see what happens against Atlanta. T.O will be on the field, and if he is happy, I won't give a shtein, if he is unhappy, I won't give a shtein.

QuoteT.O. admits run-in with Childress; Reid says he'll 'work it out'
By Keith Pompey

Terrell Owens today acknowledged today that in addition to his argument with coach Andy Reid yesterday, he also had a verbal exchange with offensive coordinator Brad Childress this week.

Owens emerged from his Moorestown home about 12:15 today and was met by reporters.

When asked about reports that he also had words with Childress Tuesday, Owens said it was true. When asked if he told Childress not to speak to him unless Owens spoke to him first, Owens said, "Exactly. I did say that, I am an honest person. I did say that."

He said that Childress "he was antagonizing me. He was not talking to me in a business setting."

"I don't have to talk to everybody personally. I don't have to like everybody personally.
All they do is pay me to go in there and practice and do my job - go to meetings, treatment and that's what I have done."

Owens, his agent Drew Rosenhaus and two other men got into two cars and left the property. Rosenhaus rode with his brother in the agent's gold Trailblazer LS; Owens was in his green truck with an unidentified man.

Rosenhaus had arrived at Owens' home about 10:54 a.m. this morning and went inside for a chat. As he exited his SUV, Rosenhaus was immediately surrounded by reporters.

There was "nothing to report this morning, check back with us later today. There's really nothing to report," he said.

Since April, Owens has been trying to renegotiate his seven-year, $49 million contract with the Eagles. He arrived unhappy at training camp at Lehigh University on Aug. 1, and yesterday he was dismissed after an argument with Reid.

Owens was given a one-week suspension and told to return next Wednesday.

Following morning practice at camp today, Reid said that he dismissed Owens over what the coach called an "in-house" dispute.

"I did send him home. He's expected to return next Wednesday," Reid said. "It's in-house business and it's going to stay in-house. I'll work it out with T.O. I'm not going to sit here and turn it into a bash session."
