yes it was...lol...but it was some cake (i smell cake..lol), and i got some $, madden 06, and a dvd recorder. so like i said i ain't complaining. it's not like i was opening a boxes of china and crysal stemware.

i had one of those at work 2 months ago for my wedding.  We got a bunch of "OC" related stuff, gift certificates to homedepot and bed bath and beyond, and i got an Eagles welcome mat.  Its definitly an awkward feeling having a shower given to you.  Good luck wingspan with the wedding and if your in a church for your wedding just make sure you dont close your eyes.  I almost passed out and later found out that you should never close your eyes

I just took a break from playing all afternoon.  My wife wants to kill me but i cant stop.  I'm very pleased that they added the Truck hit or giving the RB the ability to lower his shoulder and truck over someone.  Buck and Moats are pretty good at it.  The precision passing is very sensitive and this year you cant adjust the sensitivity.  Im very pleased so far except Cole didnt make the roster.  Dio, Calvin Armstrong's computer generated picture looks like a heroin addicted Eminem    Overall if your a madden fan youll be buying it anyway.

Review.

Overall, pretty good. On the vision cone, dont even bother trying to do the lock onto recievers, just move it around. With the lock in you concentrate on more of switching then the people sacking you. Yeah, R2+ [] will lock onto square reciever. Also, if you hit square slightly after, your QB dives. 

Superstar mode so far seems like its just something to start over and over again, not really play it. Fun seeming to get drafted and stuff, but if you dont even start youre just doing a franchise with a random team.

while i only played two games (on all-pro), i did beat the cowboys 52 - 7.
then, i played as the Bears and beat the Pats 3 - 0.

Quite fun, but i have a lot to learn.  the cone vision thing is gonna take a while to get used to.


It's definitely better than ESPN NFL 2K6.

I played a little last night.   So far I enjoy the vision cone, makes it more interesting.  The mini camp passing games def help with learning how to use it.

I thought it was funny when they had Rich Eisen explaining the Cone vision thing...and they showed a few QBs with these large areas of vision...then he explained that the higher the rating, the bigger the vision area was. As he said that, they showed Rex Grossman with like a centimeter of vision...lol!

Im not down with the vision cone, its a pain in the ass, just another thing you have to do before getting sacked.  Its going to take awhile to get that down.  I do like the precision passing though, that seems to work great, especially when you have a tall receiver on a short corner.  Another thing I think downgraded is the playmaker button, now you have to hit R3 and then tap R analog the direction you want.  Again another damn button function to get you sacked again and again. 

I did the superstar mode to start and ended up getting drafted to the farg 49ers...gay. 

I like the addition of the truck stick on offense, but its useless in the open field.  if your not straight at a defender your RB will just dive on the ground, wich is a big flaw.  in the open field i like useing triangle button to plow over people, especially when the fullback or tightend are running.  otherwise i use stiff arm, juke or spin.  NCAA 06 has  superior juke moves with the right analog stick. 

I noticed some sick tackles this year and also on offense the guy your controlling will duck under flyingtackles and even hurdle and spin when hit.  i like that alot.  oh and also when close to the goal-line players now actually dive like they are going into the endzone, i noticed 2 styles of leaps for the endzone, pretty bad-ass and much needed.

anoher improvement is music.  there seems to be no gay emo shtein this year.  they pretty much stuck to metal and hip-hop.

Im with mussa on the vision cone.  Too much of a pain in the arse.  Too much stuff to go through, vision cone, throw strength, leading the receiver, QB's feet planted - all that too consider/push for a good throw.  I just get sacked

Always a good suggestion, MURP. Pass control is very simple. 



Unless you're playing as Steve Grogan, then you have no control whatsoever over where the ball goes.
