The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Jets sign Blaylock

Quote
Blaylock got a five-year deal worth $11.1 million, including a $3.2 million signing bonus, and will serve as Curtis Martin's backup, filling the role left when LaMont Jordan went to Oakland. Martin led the NFL in rushing last year at age 31; Blaylock is 25.

I know the Jints needed OL help badly. I know Kareem McKenzie is a very, very good RT (didn't have a holding penalty at all in 2003).

But a 7 year $37.5M deal with a $12.5M SB? :o

Also of note,

Jets signed Jeb Putzier to an offer sheet.

QuoteBills | Holcomb Agrees to Terms - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 4 Mar 2005 16:44:21 -0800

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent QB Kelly Holcomb (Browns). The contract agreement is for a four-year, $6.6 million deal, including a $2 million signing bonus. Holcomb is expected to compete with QB J.P. Losman for the starting job.

So much for just handing the job to Losman.

But a good signing on their part in case Mr. Cocky doesn't pan out as the starter. Holcomb is a good backup.

In a roundabout way that move by Buffalo might just help the Giants.......

I get the feeling that Fiedler isn't going to want to come to New York now to play back up to Manning, so I wouldn't be surprised that he heads to Cleveland to get the starting job for the Brownies.......

I feel it may help the Giants because imho come hell or high water unless some unforseen disaster strikes Manning isn't coming off the field in 2005.  Tossing a ton of money to a back up under those circumstance is a waste imho......

Looks like now the Giants have some extra $ to go for Burress......

Minnesota will blow the Giants out of the water with what they offer him.
"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

You gotta wonder if Minnesota's ownership situation will prevent them from spending big dollars on Plaxico.  Why would Red McCombs allow the team to spend big when he's already set his price to sell anyway?

PhillyPhreak54

I was reading somewhere that Minnesota is asking FA's to wait on their payments of the SB's until the summer when the new ownership comes in. The article said that caused them to lose out on Antonio Pierce and to overpay Pat Williams because of it.

"Hey buddy, we'd love to sign you. We'll pay you sometime in the future. Sound like a good deal?" :-D

You would think
but they;re sitting back
Burress had to call the Vikes himself, while the Giants were courting him, showing him around
I don't care how much $$$ you have,if you dick around, you will lose
I have a feeling the longer the Vikes procrastinate, the better the chance of the Giants getting Buress
I guess I picked a bad time to stop sniffing glue

Everyone, find 1 minute each day to pray for Eaglefan 73
