All this fodder that the Browns had their way with the birds at the jont practice yesterday is laughable.  Last time they had a joint practice was with Miami a year ago and were they not reportedly slapped around in that one?

Any attempt to divine the quality of an entire NFL team based either the preseason or reports out of training camp is misguided. A smart team will have its players practicing precisely what they are weakest at.

I do think you can glean some things about individual players though. And if your starting QB looks like trash for all of July and August, maybe you can impute that the team will be bad. Beyond that, August is about roster spots, positional battles, and avoiding injury. I don't care if other teams "have their way" with the Eagles all summer if they end up with a seemingly strong and healthy 53.

EXACTLY!  53 healthy bodies means much much more than Myles Garrett beating Mailata in a drill in August or Mariota had a few shakey looking incompletions.  Pre-Season is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with one of those little wooden spoons, that's all you get.  I like it that way.

Zech is a hit to CB depth, maybe opens the door to Ricks if he shows more flash. Think the other two will be fine. Sucks that the injuries are happening to players who are locks to make the team.
