AJ!  I'm in love!

Defense is disturbing.  I'm now reminded why we were praying Gannon got a HC job somewhere else.

This really felt like the first half of preseason game 3's of yesteryear.

Surfed with my buddy this evening who is a Steelers fan and he was still trying to dissect the Bengals game and the kicking fiasco while in the water.  Glad I'm not the only sick farg out there.

I don't know (or care) if I mentioned it but Nick Sirianni's in-laws watched the game with us at my local pub yesterday.

I made through the entire game without criticizing him but I did say that Gannon was a bum and that the defense sucked about 10 times.

Very nice people.  The mom was younger than me but definitely hot in the rich elder white lady category.

Not discussed yet but did any rookie play yesterday?  Man Child?  Dean?  I saw Covey and his returns.

Settle down, it was his first NFL game. The plan was always to ease him into more snaps as the season goes on. Guy is the size of a mammoth, there's conditioning issues in addition to the obvious lack of NFL experience. I think he only played half of the snaps in college. Plus he only goes in certain alignments.

But yeah they got cooked when Cox and Hargrave were out there. Not just Davis but Williams and Tuipulotu were effective against the run. No one got any pass rush going.

Fletch got the one sack on the botched snap to Goff but he looks old - kind of like he has the previous two seasons.

I'm curious about why there would be a problem with his conditioning, other than most players aren't in 'game shape' in week one anyway, especially with how they do preseason now. I've seen some bloggers/writers speculate there may be a conditioning issue but I've seen nothing to support this. Maybe there were other reasons but it strikes me that Gannon was just slow to make adjustments, which he's been prone to. I suspect that, in part, he doesn't want to rub Fletch the wrong way by reducing his play too much. But Fletch's 0.5 sack aside, the DTs should have been feasting in run and pass with the Lions center banged up and Big V at RG and his second string replacement both out.

Rookies have no clue what it takes to be in NFL-shape.  They been eating what they want, working out how they want, etc. and it's worked so far...but it won't work in the NFL.

Gannon was awful. I think the personnel is pretty good overall, but he hasn't figured out how to use them yet. But I don't think Davis getting 30-some% of the snaps in his first game is a big part of why Gannon was awful.

At least Gannon was able to make some overdue adjustments last year, so hopefully he will again and without taking so long. FWIW Eagles seem to be climbing up the power rankings this week into a respectable position. I can only assume this is because of the Barnett injury.

Not jumping on Gannon yet they really haven't played much real football so personally I'll re-evaluate come mid season. The lack of pass rush without blitzing is a concern also their d line alignments were easily countered with slant hole/traps/draw runs. I'd rather see Davis in more on early downs with Cox/Hargrave rotating here and there.

The bigger issue is with the offensive game plan. They became a half decent team last season when they started running the ball. They went heavy pass mostly to Brown. I know they want to use their  new toy but that shouldn't negate the rest of the offense. No idea what the final run/pass ratio was but they reverted back to early last season mode trying to establish the pass first mentality.

Would 10-200 2 tds from Jefferson on mnf surprise anyone?

RUN DA BAWL
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its more that he wasnt even in college shape....and not because he is lazy or fat its because he only played a limited amount of snaps at Georgia...if he wasnt ready for a high snap total there he certainly isn't ready for it in the nfl yet
