I wouldn't trade them for where they are now but I'm not exaggerating I might trade a sb this year for three top ten picks....the jets and giants both currently have two picks in the top 8 and every time I see it I get more excited for them than for the eagles making this run they are currently on

Some random overlooked semi interesting stuff about this season

Quote
5. Assuming Landon Dickerson starts Sunday, this will be the first time in 35 years that at least seven Eagles rookie draft picks have played in at least 14 games the same season. DeVonta Smith, Patrick Johnson, Milton Williams and Tarron Jackson have played in 15 games, Kenny Gainwell and Zach McPhearson in 14 and Dickerson in 13. That's terrific stuff from this 2021 draft class.

Last time this many rookie draft picks made such an impact was also under a first-year coach, it was 1986, and back then the draft was a 12-round affair, and the Eagles drafted 15 players, and seven of them played in at least 14 games for Buddy Ryan: first-round pick Keith Byars, second-round pick Alonzo Johnson and fourth-rounder Matt Darwin, plus Seth Joyner and Clyde Simmons (eighth and ninth round), Junior Tautalatasi (10th) and Reggie Singletary (12th). The only draft picks who haven't played much this year are sith-round picks Marlon Tuipulotu (four games) and JaCoby Stevens (no games).

6. A lot of people still don't want to give Nick Sirianni credit for the job he's done this year, but remember, this team won four games last year, and the four-game improvement -- so far -- is tied for the fourth-largest in franchise history. The only larger year-to-year improvements came in 1999 and 2000, when the Eagles went from 5-11 to 11-5 in Andy Reid's second year, 2012 and 2013, when Chip Kelly's first team went 10-6 after Reid's last team went 4-12, and in Doug Pederson's first and second seasons, when the Eagles went from 7-9 to 13-3. The Eagles also had four-game improvements in 1964, 1966, 1978 and 2006.

The Eagles' four-game improvement thus far is the third-largest in the NFL this year. The Cowboys and Bengals have won five more games than last year, the Cowboys going from 6-11 to 11-4 and the Bengals from 4-11-1 to 9-6. I don't care who was on the schedule. When you double your win total in your first season as a head coach, that's a heck of a job.

7. How crazy is it that the Linc is currently exactly as old as the Vet was in 1989? By 1989, the Vet was a dilapidated, decrepit, rat-infested, God-forsaken hellhole. Just shows you what's possible when a stadium is actually maintained.

8. Jalen Hurts Stat of the Week: Hurts has generated 34 touchdowns in his first 18 starts -- 21 passing and 13 rushing. Only 22 quarterbacks in NFL history have generated more TDs in their first 18 starts.

9. With two weeks to go, the Eagles are ninth in the NFL in scoring and 12th in points allowed -- but only three points out of 10th. Can the Eagles finish in the top 10 on both sides of the ball? In the last 40 years, that's only happened six times -- 1992, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2017. They made at least the NFC Championship Game five of those years

They're gonna get curb stomped by Dallas if they make the playoffs but if they make the playoffs they far exceeded my expectations

I expected them to be one of the 3 worst teams in football so they have far exceeded my expectations also.

It's tempered by the fact that their second-half schedule has been a joke. The list of QBs they have faced is downright hilarious.

MDS

the qb list is a joke but their margin of victory is not....better teams than the eagles have blown games to bad qbs. aside from the giants loss which was 100% hurts, theyre taking care of these bad teams. that is something.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QB Eagles

Yes they have pretty much beaten the bad teams, lost to the good teams, and split with the average teams. They are right in the middle which is actually where most teams are this season.

Pretty good for a first-year play caller and a defense mostly devoid of starting-caliber talent.

SD

Sweat/Cox/Hargraves/Harris/McLeod/Slay/Nelson/Maddox start on most teams. They're not overly talented but they're not a ragtag bunch of scrubs either.

QB Eagles

You like their secondary a lot more than I do. I'm thinking back on when they faced household name QBs and were giving up 80% completions.

I think Edwards has done pretty well and has been more important to the defense than any non-Slay DB on the team.

SD

Like the rest of their team their dbs are either hot or cold. Once the pass rush got better so did they. Not a coincidence.

Eagaholic

Is there a hotter team in the NFL!? Eagles are a team NOBODY wants to face in the playoffs! ...bring on the moronic hot takes philly media woot!

MDS

a dallas loss basically locks them into the #4 seed and means the eagles cant get higher than #6

not sure if they play their starters to move up one spot
