yeah again I don't give a farg about a racists feelings and deplorable is far too nice of a word for these people

Maybe I care less about elections cause I live in a super liberal area and don't know any deplorables...I don't work with any I have none in the family and no neighbors or friends...I've never met a trumper outside of the occasional bar in a rural area of the country...I've never seen anything Q related person or paraphernalia and that includes rural areas...like where are Q people?

or just maybe it has nothing to do with any of that and more to do with not wanting to sell my soul and be nice to a racist so that they might vote for a moderate old white man who happens to be a Democratic white supremacist

You're fine with the GOP controlling all 3 branches of Government as long as you can stay extra woke. You're exhibit A why the Democratic Party is over.

good...Democrats are slightly less white supremacyee than republicans

also the Maryland state legislature will always be D it has a total of 10 Congress people and senators and 9 are D and the state will never go for a republican President so my vote doesn't count anyway

Blaming it on "super progressive policies" is hilarious when the overwhelming majority of people support those policies (like paid family leave).

What happened is the right wing apparatus invented yet another boogeyman in CRT and whatnot and they've hammered that message and fear mongering constantly all over the place on the internet and on Fox and the rest of the mainstream media just both sides everything so it sounds like an actual real concern that should be treated seriously and you end up scaring a bunch of white women without education into voting for Republicans.

But also if you actually compare to 2020, basically what happened is Youngkin was able to get pretty close to Trump's turnout in 2020, while McAulife didn't get anywhere close to Biden's turnout. I'm not worried about some big "swing" of voters than I am getting the turnout of Dem voters who just didn't show up. My guess is Mcaulife being a shtein candidate is a big part of that.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

You're echoing exactly what I wrote here and family paid leave isn't a super progressive policy. You don't hear it thrown around with crt/aoc/gnd/blm etc. Once congress is run by the GOP and the most despicable person on the planet is back at the helm I hope you'll re-evaluate how wokeness is a major reason why. At that point it'll be too late because I really don't see him giving up power again until he's either ready or dead... at that point he'll hand it over to Don jr. ir Ivanka. The right wants his authoritarian rule and congress sees what happens when they oppose him so they'll fall right in line.

That's your (a super progressive) definition of "woke". You're thinking of woke in terms of micro when you need to think of the connotation in macro. The term "woke" gets balled in with crt, AOC, cancel culture, socialism, Antifa, blm, gnd, defund the police etc. and thrown in a box. Doesn't matter these things are separate issues the right has masterfully exploited these issues to their base and the terms spread to the rest of the country. To average Joe voter it's a nuisance. It doesn't make them racist it's just considered the radical left. The right also has cancel culture but the left isn't cunning enough to exploit it. The right has had years of practice manipulating people. If you're fine with a super majority SC, GOP Congress and Trump back then keep being woke. As for me I acknowledge there's always going to be some form of racism and people are always going to say and email stupid shtein. I'd rather not let that shtein bother me for the greater good if it means Trumps not in office. Virginia fell because of crt...something they don't even teach. At this point the damage is too severe to come back from. Biden needed to Preside under a more moderate agenda but he got caught up being too progressive and most of America rejects far left ideals. Biden ran under "I'm going to quiet things down and get us back to normal"...he didn't have much wiggle room...the right was always going to come up with some bs about him but the Dems gave them so much fuel they just needed a spark to cause a wildfire.  Not sure we survive another 4 years of Trump and I doubt he gives up power in 2028. The right doesn't seem to mind being ruled under an authoritarian leader.

If we're "saying the same things", then your solution seems to be telling Democrats to stop doing things that you're admitting don't really exist/they aren't actually doing. Because that's what I'm saying.

Also, if you're lumping in politicians like AOC who are running on progressive ideas (yes, paid family leave is a progressive ideal that Bernie has been beating the drum on for decades now) with fear mongering topics that don't exist, then you are part of the problem. You're doing the right wing media's work for them. Don't buy into that narrative. It's bullshtein.

They do exist THATS THE ISSUE. Crt is a real thing. Not in Virginia but that doesn't matter. The Republicans know which buttons to push because the democrats lit them up and wrote push here on them. Democrats had a Golden opportunity to succeed but they decide instead to publicly fight like babies and push super progressive bullshtein like wokeism. I've never heard paid family leave mentioned as a far left ideal like the other issues I mentioned. Just because Bernie pushed it doesn't make it automatically far left. Know what else people are sick of? Vaccine and masks mandates. They're farging done. If you don't want to get vaccinated and you die good riddance. "But they can spread it to other people"....more than likely the "other people" won't die if they're also vaxxed. Continue being stubborn and I'll bump this when Trumps back in office, Mitch is the SML and McCarthy is the SOH.

I wish more progressives would get over themselves. Here's a starting point from someone who has their finger on the pulse.

marginassi i have some advice for you

1) please stop watching bill maher
2) dont read or listen or really talk to the seemingly endless array of white nationalist family members you have
3) find better outlets for your political opinions
4) seriously stop watching bill maher

some more data out of VA: mcauliffe did better with latinos and asians than biden did...as well with blacks...he exceeded his 2017 vote total. so basically, terry, has boring and dull a candidate that he is, got his voters out. what ha happened was the maga base was especially fired up to vote. they came out in some pretty ridiculous numbers for this type of election. thats what pushed them over. there were def some people who flipped but more than anything the lets go brandon and ctr shtein motivated republicans to vote. they are angry (about everything) and anger often yields votes.

i dont know how this jives up to your brilliant assessment that its all wokeness or something but the actual results tell you what you need to know.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

1. Never. He's the sanest person on the left
2. I don't talk to my family about politics
3. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear
4. Maybe you should start watching so you can get an opposing view

Wokeness/crt is the same thing. Not to us but to the right it's all rolled into one ball and placed in a box

Same way you associate Let's go Brandon/MAGA/white supremicists/Qanon/confederate flag/the big lie together.

MDS

thats wonderful...please explain how the dems increased their vote total compared to 2017

because basically what happened is the maga news bubble made up a bunch of racially coded lies and it motivated their racist voters to vote racistly. youre the political science expert here, teach me

All I can share is my own experience.

I've been teaching United States History (and to a lesser degree Civics) at the middle school level for 27 years.

Until this year, I had never heard of CRT.

Looking at the turnouts yesterday it's pretty clear that a lot of Democrats stayed home or couldn't be bothered to vote for their own interests.

Republicans vote.  They vote a lot.  We barely vote even when our democracy is being threatened.

Bottom line:  You get the representation you deserve especially if you're too foolish or purist to participate.

dems out voted repubs in 2017 when they were super angry about trump. this is a pretty common thing for election cycles. the party not in power is MAD and votes and the party in power is more apathetic.

nj was close because 66% of trumps 2020's voters came out, while 46% of dems did. again, common shtein.

but its much more fun to blame it on wokeness or crt or something i dont know
