I was in kindergarten, so not much personal remembrance here.

The game would have put the Phils up 2-1 in a five-game series.  Instead, they were eliminated the next day in a torrential downpour after blowing the game.

Funny thing, in many ways like the Sixers in this series.  Blow a lead late that would have put you in the driver's seat, and instead be on the brink of elimination.

Remember it well.  Luzinski dropping fly ball by Manny Mota and Bowa going ape shtein on the blown call at first.  Lopes later admitted he was out.  Lots of Phillies heartbreaks in 76 - Swept by Big Red Machine, that Phils team was loaded, 77 not only Black Friday but fan base still feeling OK as Lefty was up against Tommy John the next day but John owned their ass at the vet and 78 game 4 was painful.  Damn this team.

Actually Damm this city!  While in LA listened to Monday's game on Dodgers radio and the play by play guy was running down the list of Philadelphia sports championships and pointed out the most successful team in philly sports history was the Philadelphia A's, and no I wasn't there.

I'll bet I'm the only one here who actually went to a game there.  I was 5 so I have no memory but I went with my dad and we still have the program. It wasn't the last game but it was one of the last games there.   My father loved the Phils more than just about anything and he had to to go to that hell hole with me and moms.

connie mack died in 1956, not too long after the a's left. someone born in the 1940's could have easily met him and be lucid enough to remember today. don aint that old though.
