it would come out to a 40 rating...which sucks.

look i dont think they have much of a shot on saturday but foles is decent backup. think about what other playoff teams have:
pats - brian hoyer
steelers- landry jones
jags - chad henne
chiefs - pat mahomes
titans - matt cassel
bills - nathan paterman
vikings - teddy b
saints - chase dont call me daniels
rams - shawn manion
panthers - derek anderson
falcons - the corpse of matt schaub

where would you rank foles among that slop? keep in mind the odd situation the chiefs and vikings are in.

Foles would rank second to last right above Peterman

Get a grip on yourselves for Christ sakes. Foles isn't great nor is he even consistently good but he's a better option than the people above

SD

Not even close

Have you guys actually watched the past two games? He's not good. He did well against the Giants, the team with the worst d in the league. As soon as the Raiders loaded the box to stop the run he couldn't hit open receivers. Teams used the Giants game footage to see his many flaws. Most of his throws weren't even close and his timing on receivers coming out of their breaks was way off. The picks he's thrown the last two games were laughably bad. He had a gimme pick 6 dropped by the Raiders and Torrrey freaking Smith of all people had to knock a ball down that wasn't even close so it wouldn't get intercepted by Dallas.

He's bad. It's going to be an ugly game.

Rome

The entire offense was out of sync and the play calling was atrocious.  If the passing game isn't clicking it's up to the offense to pick up the QB by running the ball down the defense's throat.  They have the ability to do that but Pederson just can't bring himself to resist the urge to chuck it.

Foles isn't Wentz.  We know this.  Why doesn't Doug adjust to that reality?  Hopefully he will and Foles channels his inner Alex Smith.

PS:   If the defense doesn't dominate they have no chance.  That's the reality.

And have you watched these other QBs whom you'd supposedly rather have?! If any of those guys I mentioned were starting it would be much worse

SD

Yes

I'm not going down the list and list their strengths but each QB other than Peterman are better suited to run an offense. Foles is a bad combo of lack of mobility with a long release. He doesn't have a strong arm, good ball placement and is average at reading a defense. It's a bad fit for a right handed quarterback with his blind side exposed.

thats every backup in the league. imagine if the saints had chase danielles instead of brees. or the panthers were using anderson instead of scam.

the fact that foles played well enough in the giants game and farted together a drive against the raiders to win that game is enough to be a quality nfl backup. the bar is insanely low.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

2 things:

first, people are wildly overstating how good foles was in the giants game.  go back and watch that game.  his numbers were good but he really didn't play that well - he was fine.  of course, that is a huge improvement over the last 5 quarters, but he wasn't nearly as good as his stats look.

second, all of the above being said, i'm still obviously going to go roll the dice with him over the mannion and peterman's of the world.

i would definitely feel a lot better about foles if the team they face in the playoffs doesnt have any of their corners has fallen apart and quit on the season and turns it over 5 times

i dont know if they do...they dont have a road grader type offensive line...they arent going to man up with the guy across the line and run down hill...they are a team whose running game feeds off its passing game...play action....delays....and especially their shotgun read option which was unbelievable with wentz....they cant run that with foles because hes not a threat to throw
