Yeah, my read on that is, he thought he could better mitigate the damage from a position of power, close to the cause, than from afar as a critic.  Romney thinks pretty highly of himself.  He has also been nothing but clear since I forget which abomination from Trump, some time ago, and has staked his political fortune on being the face of the Anti-Trump Establishment Republicans.  That doesn't mean he'll vote against anything Trump likes, but he's gonna be a problem for Trump.

i hope youre right but ill believe it when i see it because off the top of my head i cant think of a single republican who has spoken out against trump and is not retiring...everyone else has completely back tracked and fully supports him now to the point of sucking up to him...i dont think susan collins posted at that rose garden victory lap for the tax bill but she still voted for it
