I am admittedly on the fence about the movie, certainly think seeing it a 2nd time would help. should be on kodi next week in Russian or Chinese with English subtitles.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

We talking about Star Wars here? Is that what the last several pages that I didn't read are about? Well here's my take since you're all farging dying to know:

The casino scene was dumber than shtein. In fact, nearly all of Finn's story was stupid and unnecessary.
The General Mary Poppins Organa scene was dumber than shtein.
Poe Dameron was meh. I want to like his character but mostly I don't care.
Some of the humor didn't match the tone that I'm used to in a Star Wars film, though it didn't really bother me that much.
The big set-piece battle scenes were fun and looked fantastic.
Rey and Kylo are truly interesting characters and I like what they're doing with their stories.
The themes of duality and inner struggle were good.
The obvious effort to move the story away from old characters and towards new characters was welcome. I've seen some nerds complaining about it but give me a break, the original actors are old/dead. Let's focus on new shtein.

I enjoyed it. I would say that it was different but on par with Ep VII and not as good as Rogue One. Planning to see it again next week.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

this - she (one who has never trained to anyone's knowledge) could do that, but none of the other jedi's that ever got blown up could ?

this is spot on.  I wish Hux was more of an actual character ala Tarkin and not a walking caricature (I was thinking of this with regard to the opening scene and how the humor of that scene felt out of place).

I also think Rogue One has gotten a little bit inflated recently.  The whole middle of that movie is filler.

I'd probably have it TLJ/R1 and then TFA.  They are all a bit below the first 2 and probably a bit above Return of the Jedi/Revenge of the Sith to me (first two not even worth discussing).

mudbound - really strong ensemble story with a killer ending. mike from breaking bad plays a super racist old man who says the n word a lot. mary j blige was good but i dont get the awards show hype. direction was strong but lets see if the old boys club lets the black lady in. thought this was overall was a damn good movie. 4/5
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Just got back from Star Wars.  It borderline sucked and definitely had a very Disney feel to it.  A lot of the humorous parts felt really forced and awkward.  And there's been practically no advancement in the overall story other than Rey getting some Jedi training.  The casino was farging dumb and it felt like a not so subtle farg you to our political/social system.  I mean, I'm totally down for a good farg you to the system, but I'd prefer something less blatant when I'm trying to escape reality for a couple of hours.  Those little furbie jawns with the sad eyes were stupid and their only purpose was to make kids and stupid people laugh at their sad stupid faces.  Crystal dogs?  Dafuq is that?

The lady admiral was terrible.  So was the chick with the giant nose beak.

2 episodes in and I just don't get what kind of story they're trying to tell here.  I can't wait for the next one to come out so I can give Disney another $10 of my money and finally be done with this.

It's not awful.  They're jaded fan boys who hate anything that isn't deferential to the original trilogy.  There was a lot of fun stuff in the movie that made it worth seeing.  There was also some pretty significant issues with it that made it less enjoyable than it should have been.  It was definitely too long and I thought they strayed too far from canon, but it was still worth seeing.

I still haven't gone back for a second viewing, though.  I will and maybe I'll like it less the second time, but I doubt it.  And I loved the overt political populism.   There's not enough of it these days as far as I'm concerned.

Disney will keep cranking these out until the franchise is so tired and dead that they barely make money anymore.

The further I get away from seeing the TLJ the more I hate it. Initially I thought it was better than TFA mainly because of the cinematography. I re-watched TFA, while I still don't think it's anything special, the story is at least somewhat tempered. There are plot holes and stuff I disagree with but whatever, I was willing to look past that stuff because I was under the impression it was a setup for the next film. Anything remotely interesting setup by TFA was destroyed in TLJ. There are double the plot holes and forced joke. It's just not a good film with or without the SW name.

Get past the title and initial theme and watch the first 20 minutes, it's pretty spot on

I watched TFA on Thu night so that I had it fresh on my brain going into TLJ.  Being able to do a side by side comparison, I think TFA is probably the better movie.

To me, it just felt like another overly manufactured Disney movie with a Star Wars theme rather than an actual Star Wars movie.

It's way better than the force awakens.  It definitely has Disney stink about it.  I really would have loved to have seen what Rian Johnson would have done without Kathleen Kennedy's meddling claws all over it, though
