three billboards outside ebbing missouri - just awesome acting and a really good movie that provokes thought thru dark comedy as well as fury and vengence....problem is the movie goes over the top too often and the redemption of sam rockwells character is insulting on a crash type level....i understand people who cant get past that but if you can then its a very enjoyable movie that has a cohen bros feel top it

the big sick - at their core rom coms work as well as their leading couple does and the couple in this movie are so swesome...its also validly hilarious a lot of the time....the end gets a little too perfect and cheesy but overall its one of the better rom coms in a long time

unforgettable - some awful movie i never heard of with roasario dawson and that white lady from knocked up. catherine heigl. anyway its a kind of entertaining movie to watch and make fun of. so rosario dawson leaves her big time high paying job as a blogger for a website (yes, really) to move to unidentified small town to live with her new fiance, random handsome man. so he has a daughter, who sucks. and his ex-wife, heigl, who is crazy.

anyway so heigl sets out to destroy rosario and regain her old life. there an old abusive ex rosario had thats factored in. the end gets really violent, for some reason. bunny colvin, who is fatter than he was on the wire, shows up as a cop (what else?). rosario looks amazing but she already showed her lips in some other movie so this is all whatever.

oh and cheryll ladd plays heigls mother. she must live at a plastic surgeons office but she. would. still. get. it.

its a 3/5 if you want to watch it with some people and crack jokes, which is what i did. in reality its a 0.5/5.

That's the one, I turned it on while he was in the booth, so I have no idea what lead to him going into the booth other than the phone was ringing and he picked it up. His performance was brutal. NY accent was god awful. I don't really understand why Kiefer Sutherland picked him out, it wasn't anything personal from what I understand, he just thought Farrell's character was a sleazebag I suppose.

the disaster artist - one of the funnier movies ive seen in a while....james franco had me crying tears of laughter for much of the movie...tons of cool cameos thruout...highly reccommend

get out - not a horror fan. is this one? maybe more of a thriller. regardless, a superb and frightening movie. very funny at times. thought provoking. stayed with me longer than any film in a while. 4.5/5

the big sick - about as well done as a romantic comedy could be. good to see middle easterns depicted as complicated normal people for a change. ray ramano, who knew? 3.5/5

3 billboards - maybe my expectations were too high but i was disappointed. thought sam rockwell was terrible. i normally like him. was way too over the top. cartoonish even. when he beat the shtein outta the guy and nothing happened to him it lost me. he committed assault in broad daylight in front of dozens of people. only got fired. ok. also there was a terrible cgi scene with a deer. francis mcdormand was great. shoutout to lestor and o-dog from the wire for gettin some reps. 3/5

mudbound - epic story about two families one white and one black living on the same farm in the 1940's....plays like a tv movie with great acting...feels like youve seen it a million times over with the same story telling narratives that come with these kinds of movies but its done well just not great

concussion - never really liked sports movies cause its always weird to me seeing a famous actor play a famous athlete and this movie has a lot of that...david morse plays a really creepy mike webster...some dood even plays andre waters....the worst casting of all time tho might be luke wilson as roger goodell....its not remotely believable and is super distracting...the rest of the movie is half run of the mill procedural about discovering CTE and half completely unnecessary love story which doesnt fit at all

live by night - ben afflecks follow up to argo....its a typical gangster period piece that got pretty bad reviews and argo was oscar nominated but i actually liked this better...more having to do with argo being incredibly overrated than this being great but still this is a entertaining watch if a little too long...at the very least you want to finish it thru to see how it ends...the costumes and make up here are pretty crazy in that theres at least three actors in it sienna miller....elle fanning and chris messina who i had no idea were in it until i looked at the credits afterwards
