Or he wanted to be six hours by plane closer to Japan.  Either way he picked a team in a huge market with a large Asian population nearby.  In other words he did exactly what any reasonable person would have expected him to do.

hes not going home to japan btwn series so the length of flight means nothing....also asian population means nothing...im married to one so im keen to the fact that they all despise each other...but yes LA has a massive japanese population and that matters a lot

the dodgers are a big market team but the angels are not

i dont care if theyre "in" the LA market they are as small time as you can get

so stanton to the yankees for starlin casto and some middling prospects....yanks taking on most of if not all of his deal, which is the key

this is great news for the phillies as it not only turns the marlins into even more of an AAA team but it takes away their biggest competitor for manny machado next offseason.
