All they had to do was create legislation that wasn't indescribably punitive, but their instinct to farg over minorities, the poor, and pretty much anyone else who isn't lining their pockets overwhelmed them.

selfishly for my own happiness, a silver lining to our shtein show of a prez is that so many people care now. granted i can see the WH from my roof so it's a bit different here but we had a vote a rama party last night til about 3 in the morning and it was crazy fun.

It's all accurate.  The GOP's actions have been indefensible.   They're not just simply corrupt or greedy.  They're out and out malevolent.  Every action they've taken has been designed to farg someone or something over.   Civil rights, taxes, health care, the environment, immigration, infrastructure... you name it.   Just horrendous decisions again and again.

It's simply incredible but that also explains why they've been so utterly incapable of governing. 

When your entire premise is to obstruct rather than collaborate, this is what you end up with.
