the difference is the nhl is a bigger deal than any one soccer league, so the passion and care factor for ___ nhl team >>> any soccer team. but "more people" like the sport.

Tim Howard not starting this game is such a typically American move it doesn't even warrant ridicule.  That said, Guzan didn't have a chance on that goal.   Beasley playing is so completely ridiculous, it totally does.   Beasley was a good player 10 years ago but he has no farging business being on the pitch in the biggest game of the hex.

hes 35 and looks 55....i covered the 3rd place match of the gold cup 2 years ago (terrible game btw) which was supposed to be beasley's last game for the usmnt.

then he played in the confed cup playoff against mexico and gave up the winning goal....2 years later HERE WE ARE.

I actually laughed when I saw that result.  CONCACAF jacked ticket prices for the final after the US win anticipating a US/MEX final and now they're stuck with that.

The ones I was seeing were more critical of the manager, the tactics employed by reggae boyz and the officiating.  But the talent was definitely brought up.

They totally dominated that match.  Tim Howard repping the Outlaws by wearing a scarf on his head at the medal ceremony might be the coolest thing I've ever seen in soccer.  So awesome.
