To be fair, that's pretty much exactly what Comey said he did.

No, not really.  I think that at some point in the not too distant future (maybe during our lifetimes, maybe shortly after) there is a very legit possibility for a secessionist movement, which would obviously bring about the potential for a civil war....though I think that is far less likely than the 1st time.

Seriously, at this point in time if southern states wanted to band together again and try to break off from the US and form their own country, would it even make sense to try and stop them?  I feel like the extreme right and extreme left have moved so far away from each other that it's probably impossible for moderate/centrist types to win enough elections to effectively govern.

It'd be one thing if the left and right were polar opposites in regards to economic policies or foreign affairs or taxes...those are ever changing, always evolving things that need constant updating in order to adapt to the world at large and there's also probably no singular correct answer on how to deal with those types of issues.  Do what seems to make the most sense at the time and adjust on the fly.  Policies on matters like this are always up for debate.

Where the extreme right and extreme left are really moving further and further apart are on social issues.  One side is literally standing up for racism, oppression, Jesus, no healthcare for poor people, etc, etc, while the other side has taken the exact opposite position.

I've said it before and I'll say it a million more times.  I can have a very healthy, constructive debate with a person on what makes for the best foreign policy or how the tax system should be applied or what makes for a strong economy.  There are unlimited ways to address those issues.  But I cannot and will not debate with anyone on how people should be treated.  There is only 1 way to treat people.  With common farging courtesy, decency and respect.  Care for the sick, help the poor, educate everyone.  I literally don't give a shtein about anything else.  If this country would do those 3 very simple farging things, literally every other "problem" we have would evaporate.

So yeah, maybe it's time to bust up the Union.  Smart people to the top, everyone else down south.

Sometimes when I'm really bored, I search for Flat Earth groups on FB and read their posts.  One group has referenced quotes by Kyrie, Shaq, and Tila Tequillia as validation for their beliefs.  I'm just gonna let that sink in for a bit.

I've wondered the same thing. Like, I get being suspicious of what we're told.  I question a lot of things.  But these crazy fargs talk about it like it's some grand conspiracy to make people think the world is round, and that makes no sense to me at all. Because it order for there to be a conspiracy, someone needs to benefit from it. So exactly who would benefit from a "global theory?"  More importantly, how would someone benefit from that besides maybe Rand McNally?

Sgt PSN

Funny thing is, you don't even need to have the slightest understanding of science to know that the earth is round.

A.  If the Earth is flat, why can an airplane fly from LA to Tokyo going east or west?

B.  If the Earth is a flat disk, why is there no actual end to it?

C.  If the Earth has no curvature at all, then why the farg does the sun come up in Philly, but it's still dark in LA for 3 farging hours?

I know....no one here needs a lesson on this shtein but sometimes you just gotta vent.
