Dodd-Frank is an epic disaster for small and regional banks.

Frank himself has admitted as much, less the over-the-top rhetoric.  He has been clear that he'd like to see Congress correct the parts that aren't working  But of course, like with the Affordable Care Act, the GOP won't consider corrections.  They instead declare the whole thing to be an epic disaster and want it dead.  Not a smart bunch, the GOP.

That's a fairly astute analogy.  Whoever came up with it is so right.  I had a discussion with a friend today about Trump and it went surprisingly well.  He knows he got duped but he doesn't care because he voted for Trump because he's a huge Pence guy.

How did the Western world come to understand that the Earth is spherical?  What arguments or developments politically and socially, allowed the wholesale change in understanding to move from crazy fiction to proveable fact?  Right now it's moving hard in the wrong direction and I don't know how to talk to, or understand, people like Trump, who do not credit fact.  My appeals do not register with them.  I'm wasting my breath.

What do we say to them?  What did Gallileo's supporters say in their time?  How do you beat these people?

Ultimately, you have to be prepared to die fighting them.
