The teams lays out 103 million on him and he wants to be a team leader.    Nothing says leader quite like blowing off "voluntary" activities.

Agree with Todd 100% on OTAs.  Only time I gave a shtein was when TO walked out on to the novacare field.

The only thing worth celebrating is Marcus Smith is not in an eagles uniform, even if it's for a few short days.

Could he develop into a starting-caliber corner? Maybe, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Is he starting caliber now? No.
Is he their #1 corner right now? Yes.

Think of all the bad corner seasons we've seen since the heyday of Lito and Sheldon. My expectation is that the corner play in 2017 will be worse than all of them. It's going to be ugly.

I'm wondering how much longer they're going to go without getting at least a decent starting cornerback in there.  It makes no sense to do what they did on offense without getting something done.   It's not like they don't have assets to trade either.

Maybe Howie is just doing what he did last year with Bradford?   It's risky as farg, but I have to believe they have someone or a group of guys they're keeping their eyes on just in case.

I could see them adding another veteran journeyman or two to the mix, but I don't expect anyone appreciably better than what they already have.

It's not really possible to have a team with no holes under the current NFL roster system unless you have a ton of stars on their rookie contract, or a Hall of Fame QB willing to accept a vastly reduced salary in exchange for winning Super Bowls. The Eagles have decided that CB can be a glaring hole.

I think the plan is pretty much just to let the CB position bleed this year, hope that someone plays above expectations, and try to make the position competitive next year when Jones is healthy.

btw i wasnt talking about mills being yuck. the combo of mills and robinson most certainly is. i cant imagine a worse combo in the league. mills might wind up being an nfl caliber cb which is a good find for a 7th rounder, but starting caliber is stretching it.
