You're ridiculous. I'm not giving him a pass for anything. I'm looking at the complete reality of his presidency. I disagree with the huge majority of what he did and stands for. But he also did things that explicitly illustrate the existence of a moral center. Obama did things I disagree with as well. Some of them on a humanitarian level. I am capable of seeing the good things that a president does as well as the bad things. So yes, it does work like that.

This^^^^...I met Bush in 2004 (thread about it somewhere in this forum).

That being said I'd like to have a beer with any living President, even the current one even though he IS an evil, childish, icehole.

I believe this Russia/Trump connection is a ruse, but after listening to this Senate Intel Hearing, I'm starting to think different.

This Russia shtein makes me crazy because it's almost too much to believe. It's so much like a bad espionage novel that it screams silly conspiracy theory. Plus, I just spent a year of my life (more than that if you count my scoffing at the birther shtein) laughing at the gullible bumpkins who fell for all of the right-wing conspiracy theory hysteria. These people were detached from reality in ways that I could not abide. But now, just two months into a nightmare presidential scenario, the Russia scandals are almost too numerous and too absurd to believe. And yet, here I am believing them.

Granted, I believe them because trustworthy traditional news outlets are reporting on it in a great deal of detail and depth but it's all still COMPLETELY fargING RIDICULOUS and the part of me that wants to keep my biases in check feels like it's going to short-circuit.

people have been saying it for almost 20 years....thats way too long for them to not mean it...in this case sarge and or j will probably flip flop and say they didnt mean it that way but i dont believe it...no chance a ton of people dont actually think it would be awesome to have a beer with him...if thats your idea of a good time more power to you....i just dont on any level understand it and its always drove me nuts

and im not sure how anyone could think the russia thing was a ruse or even the dems blowing it up....theres only 5000 pieces of evidence (admittedly a lot of it is circumstantial) that point to at the very least cooperation with the russians....the connections go way too far back and too deep to ignore....the question is was trump directly involved and how much did he know.....his circle almost most certainly was in it deep

also imo the dems in congress have been extremely reserved as far as the words theyve used and the actions theyve takin....its not like they are enmasse calling for impeachment...they are simply asking for a thorough investigation...in fact none that i can think of have even said the election result were tainted....also its important to know the fbi on their own deemed that an investigation was worthy and began it last july....its not like hillary lost and all of a sudden the dems started blaming russia or some shtein....the russia stuff was an issue almost form the time trump announced his candidacy

This senate hearing is fluctuating between amazing and boring as shtein. But at least it's happening. Rubio just spent five minutes rattling off the various ways that Russia has published disinformation specifically targeted at destabilizing America.

Here's a good article on the presence of the russian mob in the U.S., their ties to the Russian government and relationships with Trump since since the 80's, which are way deeper than I imagined.

I just can't believe that any of these ties are circumstantial and are making me less dubious of the Russiagate claims.

I may be off, but to me, the trump administration's connection to Russia is almost secondary. the bigger issue is the fact that Russia is doing this period, and it isn't the 1st time nor will it be the last time.
