Our little prick is food/resource aggressive so far, but otherwise very freindly. Probably gonna go to a trainer.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Day 2 and the dogs already being left out of the kennel for when I sleep and leave. He's that damn good already.

Looking forward to pics of his work on day 37.

well, my older son adopted a chocolate lab/retriever mix puppy three weeks ago. 3rd dog in a row we have gotten from a rescue.

he's a lab so anything he can reach he's gonna chew, but overall, the dog has been a great addition. I am convinced though that the dog has pitbull in him. im not concerned really because the dog has a very friendly disposition. he gets along with our 8yr old boxer as well as we could've hoped for. the two are inseparable.

I didn't realize people were still afraid of pitbulls.  The showcasing of "scary dogs" in tv/music videos/movies lately seems to be trending back to Dobermans and Rottweilers.

pitbulls arent scary until they the bite the face off a three year old

I had to get rid of my pitbull, he killed another dog and attacked a 2 year old.

SD

Just kidding, dog is a complete Hoyda. My neighbors cocker spaniel attacked him and he ran off. I've had him at dog parks and around at least 10 friends/families dogs and he gets along with them great. He loves people more than any dog I've ever had.

from what ive heard from vets, the big issue with pits is the inbreeding. that said I know plenty of people that have them, some full breed and they are excellent dogs.

either way, the dog pretty much looks like a lab/retriever but still has a bit of a pit look to him. maybe im off. I don't know. he's a great dog beyond his love of chewing furniture legs.

Hating pit bulls because of a few instances is no different than hating all Muslims because a few are terrorists

Pit bulls are some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. The breed isn't intrinsically bad; the problem is the irresponsible owners. Dogs most likely to bite are smaller breeds, like spaniels or "toy" breeds...much like the shorter the guy, the more likely he is to be a fleshpop and become an icehole cop.

As labs are one of the smartest breeds, they get bored easily. They're also one of the most energetic breeds. Exercise the pooch often and you'll probably have less of a problem with this.

SD

How is it diiferent? You're judging an entire species off of a few instances. It's never in the news when there's a dog attack, and if there is the breed is never specified unless it's a pit bull. I've owned 4 and never had a problem.
