west virginia to me was the easy one....that state is trump HQ - almost entirely white, uneducated and full of working class folks without jobs or promise or hope or talent or ability. blame the mexicans sounds like a good message to them.

the Dakotas arent nearly on the same level as those to the west...Montana and Idaho are massive anti government militia white supremacist areas....mountains provide much better hiding places than wheat fields

plus the oil boom specifically in n. dakota has made work plentiful so the anger there isn't as intense and the jobs have also attracted people from all over the country...the Dakotas are conservative no doubt but much less angry...basically they love themselves some Dakotas and its way of life but don't judge other people like a lot of other places...in fact one of the biggest white supremacists in the country tried to start a white colony in a small north Dakota town a couple years ago and was basically run out of the state by the people and ended up in jail

think Dakota being carson wentz and idaho/Montana being cliven bundy
