but this years team and the rebuild are two separate entities...and really even for the rebuild its been a bad year (small sample size notwithstanding) thus far

Totally agree.  I entered the season with the mindset just enjoy watching the young ones develop and the minor league talent work their way up.  Rebuild is still a few seasons away. The 6 games over .500 excited the crap out of me.  Never saw that coming, yes it was only May but I'll take it.  Found myself drinking the Kool Aid and getting all pissed off when they started this reality check of a schedule as expected last week and had to ground myself. 

Deep breath and enjoy.  Let's party in 2019.
