yeah, im not sure you'd find many fans in gen who would debate jimmy.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

phillies will be under 500 this year...book it

ice grillin you

even in a pro phillie article that is making a HOF case for jimmy right in front of your eyes hes still 4% below GRIT...and if you asked people randomly on the street away from the facts he would be much lower

like Hoffman says in the piece...

QuoteRollins was misunderstood. Despite a reluctant embrace by some Phillies fans

Out of the three, it's Rollins.  The HOF rule still applies, though, and I'm not sure he's quite there.

I love Utley, but to me he's below rollins on the all-time Phillies list.

I don't think it applies to that team...gotta think someone is getting retired if not all three...HOF or not...the only way it doesn't happen is if like I said they don't know how to separate them out and decide to not retire any of them so to not hurt feelings...but it wont be because of the HOF rule

id retire all of them together on the same night....then have one statue with all three of them outside the stadium

I agree the HOF rule shouldn't apply.

also, more I think about it, this would be epic.

Munson

I def agree with the retire all 3 on the same night.

As for a statue...that team had so many great plays made by great roleplayers that I'd love to see a smaller statue of the whole starting lineup and pitchers, somehow. Almost every one of those guys that you can name came up with a big play or hit or pitch somewhere in there at some point it seems. Even some of the bench guys--Stairs, Jenkins, Taguchi, Dobbs, Bruntlett, etc....just seems like all of them contributed in a big way at one point or another.  I'm also probably biased because it was my first championship team though.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rome

Retire all three.  Who gives a shtein regardless.

the whole '08 roster will be on the wall of fame.

No Groome or Puk?

Stark:

Other teams say the Phillies appear to be backing off A.J. Puk at No. 1 in the draft & moving toward Mercer CF Kyle Lewis

MDS

if thats true, they are doing the same thing the astros did with correa

take someone #1 below market value to save bonus money, then allocate that later in the draft by overpaying high school kids and college juniors. its not a bad move considering the lack of a sure thing in this draft. coming away with as many lotto tickets as possible isnt a bad thing.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

That's what I read in Ryan Lawrence's piece yesterday

Not opposed to it in theory but I know zilch about some OF from Mercer
