I'm probably pretty lucky in the sense that none of my right leaning friends are ultra conservative wackos. In fact, most of them are more liberal/moderate than they want to admit. They're really just flowing with the gop because that's what their parents did and what most of their friends do, so that's what they do too.

nobody knows how to vote against their own self interest better than a republican

In one way, shape, or form, any candidate you vote for is going to stand for something that goes against your own self interest. I voted for Obama. In a way, I voted against my own self interest because he vowed to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but I ain't no sucka. I knew back in 2007 when I cast my vote that ending those 2 wars would put my job in jeopardy.  And what do you know, 5 years later I was out of a job and a pension. My life is indisputably harder today than it would have been had McCain won. But I also think that the county is in a much better place today than it would have been had McCain won.

Libs are just as likely to vote against their own interest. Difference is that voting against my own interest benefits the needy.  When you vote gop, you vote to feed the greedy.

One of my friends from when I lived in PA has gone off the deep end.

I have mentioned him on here before...he's the one who switched his allegiances to Baltimore/Washington teams because he moved to Maryland and he believes each time you move you should support the local teams. Stupid.

Anyways he's become super political...big time tea party/constitutional wacko now. We have had some good arguments over the last couple years mainly with me baiting him into a rant and then laughing.

But today...he's become a Sandy Hook Truther. He's watching the conspiracy videos and posted on Facebook about how it never happened.

Unreal.

I have a friend like that from where I grew up. He's a really nice guy until you talk about politics with him, as he is as radically as far right as you can get. If this was 1930's Germany, he'd be goose-stepping around Scranton in his brown shirt & khakis. The guy actually has a Ronald Reagan shrine in his house and while he's a Steelers fan, he joined the EMB years ago just to argue politics with "Stingo".

We were at a Phillies game last year and I made the mistake of correcting him on Obamacare and we screamed at each other in Ashburn Alley for 3 innings until I got him to scream "Farg the poor! I farging hate the poor!". Good times.

lolol...I should turn Stingo loose on this dude.

He used to be really cool...then he turned into this abomination of a political wacko. Sometimes when I am bored I will text him something about the democrats or Obamacare or gun control and then sit back and let him rip.

I am sure he will go in on my Facebook response this evening. I can't wait!

this simply isnt even close to true...unless you are simply saying a liberal at one time or another has voted against their self interest

Stingo doesn't even go around the politics board anymore as far as I know. That place is a right wing cesspool anymore, has been for at least 6 years, probably longer.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Texts from the sandy hook truther

"Watch the videos.  Just watch them."

My response was I'm not watching tinfoil hat Alex Jones shtein

"Congratulations on being determined to be uninformed."

I told him I'm not interested in entertaining thoughts this was a false flag or hoax and he's nuts

"If you are so open minded, why not give it a chance?  Before I saw, I thought for sure it was going to be crap.  .... You?  Nah.  You have it all exactly correct without opening a book. Or checking out any other information. "

I responded and asked about the dead kids and teachers. If he wants me to entertain this then explain the dead bodies.

"They aren't dead.  Zero murders.  None.  Nobody died.  No shooting.  I said that."

I can't even respond to that

PhillyPhreak54

More

"Sigh.  No, that it is not just a picture.  There is extensive video from different angles of this guy.  Watch it or don't.  Watch and tell me we are wrong.  You are determined to remain uninformed.  It is up to you. "

"How about video of a father laughing and smiling as he walks to the microphones and says, "are we ready?"  Then starts talking like his world has ended like a light switch?  .... Watch or don't.  You are determined.  Live with it.  "

"Did you see ANY footage of ANYONE taken out on stretchers?  Any blood anywhere?  .... No, you didn't.  "

"There are NO DEAD KIDS!  NOBODY DIED.  None.  Zero.  "

"

Butchers Bill

Found this guy outside a Starbucks just south of Seattle this weekend.  I don't know about you guys, but I have found Tesla drivers to be some uppity iceholes.

I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

Sgt PSN

You mean people with practically no financial limitations are iceholes?  No wai!
