I just found out that I played against Briles in HS

I didn't realize he was Stephenville's head coach. We played them my senior year. One of the most true Friday Night Lights environments I was ever in. True small town shut down for HS football and they were all seemingly at the stadium. With coffee cans filled with ball bearings to shake and deafen us

Small town football is beautiful yet frightening.  I have never heard of the coffee can trick.  We have a few predominant Samoan, Tongan communites where it is worth going to the games just to watch the passion of the crowd.

Yeah those Samoan folks love them some football! I just read an article (I'll see if I can find it again) about how and why so many are drawn to the game.

Speaking of which - I decided to look at my old HS site to see who the head coach is now and how they did. I happened upon the roster and see a kid on the team with my last name. My last name isn't exactly common so I was curious and tried to find more info. Kid is a sophomore and is 6'7 296lb OL...and he's a Pacific Islander with a hyphenated last name which is the same as mine.

I had to think back to remember if I slept with any Pacific Islander chicks in 1999/2000. I did not.

I've mainly been watching LSU, Miss St and Florida
