I suppose it would be possible to have some sort of multi-window option built in. Think if it as if you had 2 different Internet tabs open with a YouTube video on each tab, and watched 2 min of one video, then hit pause and jumped to the next tab and did the same thing.

It's still almost entirely about available Internet speed/bandwidth. In order to really make it viable, data speeds would probably need to be increased like 100 x from whatever is currently the fastest speed available.

Definitely quite a ways from that. I can definitely see it being a thing in the next few years though for stand alone games....TNF/SNF/MNF.

sounds horrible.

so i just go to yahoo.com to watch it  ???

I'm curious as to this too, is there an app for my smart tv or do I just bring up the internet browser and enter yahoo and stream it from their site

BigEd76

The game is here: https://nflstream.yahoo.com

If you can get to it from your TV, great. Otherwise, find a computer or something mobile

smeags

none of you guys can just hit the input button to jump between the stream and cable ?

you can, but the process takes longer than simply hitting last channel. i understand that being an attractive element for people.

im not sure if cable is going to go away anytime soon, i doubt it, but its going to be an outdated technology. the future is here. and it appears this crowd isnt ready for it.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

You can, but it doesn't function like channel hopping.  Say your cable/satellite is hdmi 1 on your tv, and then say chromecast is hdmi 2.  If watching chromecast and you decide to jump over to hdmi 1 for tv, chromecast does not maintain the position it was in when you left, so when you go back to hdmi 2, you have to wait for chromecast to start back up again.

Same goes for smart tv....at least for mine, but it's 3 years old so maybe the technology in this department has improved. But if I am in my smart hub and I leave to watch regular tv, when I go back into smart hub it doesn't pick up where I left off, I have to start over.

i don't have chromecast, just a flatscreen that i can switch between my ps3 where i run Netflix from and cable with no issues.

not even sure i could run that stream through the ps3.

the networks dont care about game flipping....the nfl isnt going to factor into its decision making your ability to go to another program on another channel.

like i said i dont know exactly when cable becomes obsolete but its coming. it might be "around" for a while, but live sports, id guess, will move to streaming and broadcast.

You're really whining that you can't mash three buttons on your remote control to change the antenna input that your TV is set on fast enough for your satisfaction.

A new low for :CF.

hunt

until they invent a "go back" button that takes you to the previous input, this is bs!   :boo
