Week 3 - Eagles get embarrassed by the Jets, probably

QB Eagles

On paper, they lose. On paper they should have won the first two games though.

The team is obviously not as good as people were projecting coming out of the preseason, but I also doubt they are as bad as what we've seen so far. Over a sample size of two games they have been the worst team in football, but I still project them as a mid-table team when the season ends. The division is terrible, too. That being said, their major liabilities -- the predictability of an offense that hasn't changed in 3 years, an offensive line that is seriously weak in the middle (and I'm including Kelce), lack of playmaker WRs, and busted-up LBs -- don't seem like the kinds of problems that can be easily addressed by mid-season adjustments. The coaching staff has to find workarounds however they can, and that has to start being visible in Week 3.

It's not all coaching, though. A number of the players have just been blatantly playing below their ability, making simple execution mistakes. Unless all those guys are simultaneously entering a decline, I think we can expect some of that to get cleaned up as players revert to their usual level of play.

If Week 3 looks like Weeks 1 and 2, it's over. Also I think it's more important going forward to look respectable and to demonstrate that the issues are being addressed than it is to actually win this game. Probably also important that Byron Maxwell doesn't get burned by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Well...you're wrong tho.

Demeco isn't cooked...he's medium well but not totally burnt yet

Hicks is awful? Huh. Guess he played poorly...oh wait no he didn't.

Najee Goode was on the team the last two years and is a good player.

If Goode was really a good player, shouldn't he have already been on someone's roster?

Chip to NY reporter;

Did you give any thought to starting Mark Sanchez this week?

No.

Why no thought of starting Sanchez this week?

Excuse me? Because Sam Bradford's our starting QB

Any chance Sanchez could play?

Are you Mark's agent?

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteJets star CB Darrelle Revis sat out practice today with a groin injury, raising questions about his availability for Sunday's game against Philadelphia. Coach Todd Bowles didn't mention Revis in his daily news conference, which was conducted before the injury report was released. Bowles was not asked which players didn't practice. He also didn't mention Revis when asked Tuesday on a conference call which players had been hurt Monday night other than WR Eric Decker (knee). A team spokesman said Bowles would address the matter Thursday.

It's possible Revis merely was given somewhat of a day of rest with the Jets on a short week, although if that was the official reason, Revis would be listed as having not practiced because of 'not injury related' reasons. Revis was spotted in the locker room and appeared to be fine, although it's possible the Jets could be withholding the information for a day for competitive reasons.

ivory i think is fine....he was questionable last week as well and ran hard as shtein...honestly even if he was out i dont think it would change the game one bit anyway

revis being out would be gigantic...im not really concerned with the jets offense...this game is all about the eagles O...they just need to score 20 pts and i think they win
