If the offense is putting up 35-40 points a game your defense should be able to keep the opposing team below that regardless of how long they're on the field.

the eagles lost exactly one game when they scored more than 24 pts

there were no 40-37 or 48-44 losses

fact is the offense and the defense last year were both wildly inconsistent at times...the offensive struggles get immediately fixed with a healthy bradford....the defense is more up in the air...but you would think and hope that the secondary has to be better just by who they dont have anymore....how much they upgraded is the question

and the front seven with a healthy kiko and if brandon graham can earn his money is LEGIT

Yeah, I will say that Brandon Graham looks like a completely different guy. It's almost like he wants to play or something. I'd written him off completely, but he's looking like an actual contributor so far.

i cant say ive seen that....not much has changed with him for me other than his new deal and im more putting faith in chip and billy davis not to have given him that money unless they believe he can play up to it than i am in full belief that hes all of a sudden a whole different player

They're average talent-wise. There's no Reggie White or Seth Joyner or Easy E back there.

I like the group as a whole but let's tone down the hype machine a bit, shall we?

Graham was super effective/efficient in limited snaps last year. If he can do that with an expanded role this front seven will be disgustingly good. An Eagles team that goes five deep with legit LB talent? Never thought I'd see the day.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Zanshin

Right. But they were limited. I think he's looked pretty energetic and has settled into that expanded role. Now, keep in mind, I'd written him off as a complete bust...so being surprised means that I'd be pretty happy if he turned in a solid if unspectacular year at the position. I mean, I thought he'd be nothing.

well BG did say he expects to get 32 sacks this year and billy davis is looking forward to him breaking the single season sack record....so they got that going for them this year

He should have always been a pass rushing OLB in a 3-4 set.  It's not his fault that Reid tried to square peg him.

And his ceiling is double digit sacks.  If he gets 10, it's a huge get for them.

ice grillin you

actually he is the classic 4-3 end....its why everyone thought hed be gone sooner rather than later once billy dee rolled into town...him and chip are trying to make BG into a guy that can drop into coverage a little versus being strictly an edge rusher

Reggie White is the classic 4-3 end.  Brandon Graham is not.

Graham is a classic 4-3 end in a Andy Reid/JJ defense. Look at their other ends, Hugh, Abiamiri, Mcdougle etc. These guys all have a similar body type and style that Graham has. They like those short low center of gravity types. Personally I prefer the tall rangy type but to each their own.

Rome

I spent the better part of the last decade trying to forget McDougle & Abiamiri.  Thanks for reminding me.

PS: Jevon Kearse says wassup.

jevon kearse was maybe the quickest guy i ever saw off the edge and the eagles tried to turn him into that stupid joker bullshtein....god did that make me mad

I don't think I've ever been as pumped as a fan as I was the day they signed Kearse.   And then getting Owens on top of it?  Heady days...

Yup...they finally got a prototype DE and they line him up all over the field. Frustrating.
