He pitched very well, got lucky on a few such as when Ozuna ripped one just foul down the first base line that would have plated two and the double by Ozuna and the relay home that got the slug out at the plate on Rupp's nice tag.

Eickhoff pitched ok. His stuff isn't great, though. He's got middle/back of the rotation stuff, but he looked like a battler, and after watching the likes of Williams & Buchanon all year, mediocrity's a welcome sight. I have to say he was doing it against the Marlins, though, and yes, they are definitely worse than the Phillies, records not withstanding.

That stadium looks and sounds like a garish tomb.

The most surprising thing about that game was watching Howard rip the ball for three doubles. He looked like 2006 vintage Choke Dog last night.

they have a ton of internal backend options....eickhoff is 1 of them

like i said before theyre likely going to have to go outside the system to top off the rotation, but they should be able to easily afford that. but the good thing is they are deep with quasi-ML pitching, so in the case of injury or ineffectiveness in 2017/18, they wont have to go to a gas can arm or sean o'sullivan or something.
