I wasn't aware she was married to Jerramy Stevens. What else do you need to know?

I'm scheduled for Lasik eye surgery next week. Anyone here have it done? My eyes without lenses are terrible, so even worst case it has to be an improvement. Just wondering what the experience was like for anyone else who might have done it.

It's been a few weeks since the LASIK surgery, so I figured I'd let you know how it went in case anyone is on the fence about doing it.

Pretty awesome. I went in, filled out some paperwork, did some confirmation tests. The actual procedure took less than 10 minutes. You go to one laser that cuts a little flap...then you go over to the other laser that corrects the eye. It was a little uncomfortable for 30 seconds an eye, mostly because of the ring they use to keep the eye open. Really not a big deal.

Once that was done, I could see better immediately. I went home, took a nap (as directed), and my eyes were dry when I woke up, but I could see. The next day I was driving and went to the movies. I went from legally blind to no lenses in under 10 minutes. Pretty amazing.

I went back for a couple of follow ups, and my vision now is about 20/15. No issues to report. The first week, you have to do a bunch of drops and not get your eyes wet, but no big deal. Pretty impressed with all of it, and I'd totally do it again. Like, in a heartbeat.

It really wasn't bad, but you can smell the eye burning while the laser does it's thing. Smells just like burning hair.

Yours was a bit different than what my g/f had to get. They cut the flap in her eye, and then actually scraped off the outer surface of the cornea or whatever it is, and then that had to grow back. That was a bit more painful...not hte surgery itself, but for like 2-3 weeks after the surgery her eyes were hurting, anywhere from minor pain to excruciating. She said it felt like having sand in your eyes and not being able to do anything about it. She had to wear this weird plastic goggles when she slept to avoid scratching her eyes during the night.

But, after all that, she still said she'd do it again. Loves being able to see/not needing lenses.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Zanshin

I'll be sure to add that to the list of reasons I'm glad I'm not like your girlfriend.

Haha. That came out a little meaner than I intended, actually.

You know what really grinds my gears?  The door to door meat sales people.  If i'm not gonna buy some zesty speaker i never heard of out of the back of your van.  What in the farg makes you think I'd buy a consumable item.

Had a truck show up last Friday in my driveway, and another on Tuesday.  I'm all for making a buck, but high pressured sales of zesty food without invitation just pisses me off.

I wasn't aware that door-to-door meat sales were a thing, you know, outside of porn.

Yeah, they have all kinds of names.  In my area we get these two hitting us.

In general they operate with a transient worker base, and usually hire folks with records.  There's a bunch of different outfits scattered across the country, and all you need to do is look on Ripoff reports or google their names to see the problems they leave behind.  I had one show up 9:30 at night at our last house and the dude had fresh trackmarks and was out of his gourd pissed off that I didn't want to feed my family.

We had a home burglarized in my neighborhood Wednesday night after not having any in something like 10 years.

all i get are power supply solicitation.

i do remember the speaker guy in the white van though. "hey man, interested in some incredible speakers, someone at corporate messed up the inventory and it seems i have two extra pair, i could make you a great deal, whataya say"?
