I'm scheduled for Lasik eye surgery next week. Anyone here have it done? My eyes without lenses are terrible, so even worst case it has to be an improvement. Just wondering what the experience was like for anyone else who might have done it.

My father did it for astigmatism.  It worked wonders for him.

I'm like you, Zan - zesty vision without contacts. I've thought about it but I'm too much of a Hoyda to have it done. I don't want to be awake for it and you have to be so no.

I hate corrective glasses so I'll stick with the contacts. My eyes are sensitive to the daylight so I wear sunglasses just about as much as Tony Sparano (not at night though).

I had the eval done a few years back, just didn't setup my HSA for it yet.  I've had contacts since the 4th grade, and I'm at the same point where I seem to only be comfortable in them for 6 hours at a time.  Everyone I know who's had it swears it was the best purchase they've made, and if you have a reputable doc then there's nothing to worry about.

Yeah, my contact prescription is -8 in one eye, and -7 in the other. I used to be able to wear contacts 24x7...right up until I mysteriously couldn't. I've already burned through my HSA, but I figure I should suck it up and strike while the iron is hot.

Played in a golf tournament lsat Friday and our partner was this 25 year old who had it done at 18!  He said it was the best thing he's ever done.  Said may have to have a tune up later in life with a minor procedure.  I thought it was for life?  Oh, the dude was a scratch golfer.

If you girls got off the internet once in a while maybe your eyes would be better.

I'm -6.50 and -7.00 in the other, definitely sucks to have to fumble to find your glasses at night to figure out what time it is.

I've been thinking about doing it for years, and the time never seemed right. My brother is friends with the Head of Ophthalmology at Columbia, and he recommended a surgeon that's literally walking distance from my house
