the choke stuff started in 12 i think

lol...holy shtein....did you even watch the Phillies in the aughts....I was at numerous games when it happened...this is smeags level denial

there are frustration boos for any and all things....baseball is the sport where it's the most obvious because when someone strikes out 1000% of the focus is on them. i dont recall venomous choke hatred until 12.

his production really started slipping in 10 and 11 but even then it wasnt bad. in fact when his extension was announced, i think in 09, everyone was happy. the national media killed it but the phillies army defended it. 07-11 was really a south jersey love affair on the squad.

i love you for being a knee jerk bleeding heart but you go crazy for this kind of stuff and it really wasnt that bad. j is 1000% about a hero of his getting booed...same as mcnabb same as anyone.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

jimmy I can even understand after he ripped the city (before he did that I don't get it)....that falls into the Schmidt kind of booing...of course they never said Schmidt was shiftless or lazy...but choke was nothing other than the ultimate upstanding citizen who carried the phillie torch as well as anyone ever has and said all the right things
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

never heard a frustration boo when grit was having steve sax type meltdowns.....but I did hear boo's when choke would throw them into left field....even tho he improved his fielding ten fold over his career

he strikes out 150+ times a year...almost unequivocally on its own thats going to frustrate people

i never doubted that his color had something to do with it. hes a big black man. theres going to be negative attention because of that. but the hate really had more to do with the contract than anything. when you go 5/125 and your production craters youre going to get killed. even if your body is letting you down and even if you are a class act.

hes more popular and more beloved. nobody is doubting that. the most beloved eagle almost ever is b dawk who is crispy as hell. come on.

and choke's fielding improved in the sense that he went from awful to not as awful. he was never good.

grit was never good either....they both worked equally as hard to get better and both did...one was worshipped for it and the other was booooooooed

and stop using straw man arguments like pat burrell and dawk.....this is about double standards not about equal opportunity booing...we know the city boo's its athletes...this is not breaking news

post-12 everyone has definitely been harder on choke. sure. its been a little unfair, but his 5/125 is what it is.

between 07-11 there were some stuff here and there....big deal....more or less the players were walking on water and everything was lovey dovey.

but omg the hustling gritty white is more beloved that the slugging negro. alert the aclu!

I do recall the stare down Heidi gave him in the 2009? NLCS at Dodger Stadium when McGritty booted a ball, may have been two actually.

Franco grounds out to third first at bat.  He sucks.

choke would literally hit two homers and five rbi on friday then strikeout three times on Saturday and get booed

Yep.

And then on WIP fans would call in and lament that he struck out against a lefty who ate him up with sliders away. He was routinely ripped and booed.

Jimmy had a phenomenal run of years and he would catch boos for striking out or because he didn't walk. And the Voice of The People's airwaves would be lit with kenzo mouthbreathers ripping him because he had the audacity to pencil himself into the lead off spot and not be Juan Pierre of 2003.

farg outta here with the "they never got booed shtein"

im fighting with a drama queen bleeding heart and the most anti-philly homer athlete cock slobberer in recorder history

no point

yea, im not

lifes been pretty good for choke and jimmy.....and grit. they arent victims. they are highly paid adult men who play a childs game. stop hero worshiping them.

No one is hero worshipping.

Igy and I are stating facts on this one. You couldn't be more wrong on this one if you tried. Your disdain and contempt for people being fans is funny

The drop-off was dramatic for Utley and Howard... maybe more like a bunch of athletes from the 1980s and before... well, before the steroids era.  Rollins has slowed down a bit, but much more gradual than the other two.  They basically fell off a cliff, especially Howard.
