I've probably still got the preseason game on DVR. No point in tracking down a stream for this one.
the last meaningful game chip kelly won was last thanksgiving in dallas
Serious question:
How ugly does it have to get before this thing gets all Sixersy and you start rooting for losses and a high draft pick? Or is that "sacrilegious" in football?
Damn, I just remembered the 2nd rounder goes to the Rams :-D
If they can't score on Dallas, I can't see how they score against the Jets on the road, but I guess crazier things have happened. In 2013 they followed up their most embarrassing performance with their most impressive performance against Oakland. But, that was Oakland, and I think it was also after a bye... so doubt it's a parallel for this game.
the maps wont be out until wednesday, but i dont see it going much further than philly and ny.
dallas/atlanta is above it at 100 and sf/arz should get a bulk of the west coast. should be the #2 or #3 game though because its just regional action, so whoever the farg those announcers are. easy, take it away.

I'm there if Sproles gets hurt. We might as well be back in the Reid early years with this one fun player to watch bullshtein.

this exact thought crossed my mind in the parking lot after the game...but just for a moment...the division is awful especially so with romo out now...its still early to be thinking draft no matter how ugly its been
Yeah...sad fact is with the Cowboys losing Romo and Dez, the division is still wide open.
The guard play obviously has to get better, but if it starts to gel and they start playing at even 75% of what people expected, they're going to be in the division race until late in the season.
The Jets DL is nasty and I think the Eagles special Olympians Barbre and Gardner are going to be eaten alive.
If Bradford struggles I'd have Sanchez in there right away
Eagles favored by 2 or 2.5 depending where you look
They're also still favored to win the division
Baldinger broke down 4 plays on the NFL network earlier. It was uglier than it looked yesterday believe it or not. My prediction is Bradford doesn't make it through the Jets game.

That's true, but it could also be one of those situations where in 3 years we look back and go "Why the hell did the team have to make the playoffs that year only to be one and done? If we ended up with a top 5 pick we could have drafted ____ and changed the fortunes of this franchise"
Not sure a franchise QB will be available though.
Jets defense has given up 10 points and cussed 9 turnovers to this point. Piece of cake.
After watching some of the Jets-Colts tonight, my prediction is 5-2 Jets.

well if you go big picture then it was not wrong to root for draft picks even before the season started because they were never winning anything this year anyway...even in this division they were nothing more than around a .500 team....but in a vacuum you'd like your season to not be over in week 2....with only one game a week in football it's different than other sports
also yes there is no franchise qb in this draft...but I don't know how with a straight face chip comes off Bradford after one year with what he gave up for him...that would be a joke whether it was the right thing to do or not

this is their one hope...anytime you play ryan fitzpatrick you have a chance....now they cant lay an egg of the magnitude they did against dallas and beat anyone but i kinda see this game as a lesser scoring version of the atlanta game except the birds pull it out at the end
I fear for the players safety vs. the Jets. If they come out of the game without a stretcher making a field appearance I'd call it a win.
i dont see how they beat anybody....unless fitzpatrick is god awful and gives the game away
but thats assuming bradford doesnt do the same
Fitzpatrick is average but he has a running game, a good O line, a legit #1 WR who is a matchup nightmare and another WR who is unreal on slants and underneath routes. It's gonna be a bloodbath, bring the yellow tape.
8-8 may win this division and I think the eagles are in the hunt till the end.
that said I see the eagles falling to 0-3.

i fully admit im going on feeling and mostly the idea that even as i didnt have great expectations going into this season even i cant see them being 0-3
in reality your scenario is much more likely and if that happens then the number one overall pick train is full steam ahead
remember they dont even have their 2....so if you get the 1 you dont pick again until the 3rd round. thanks to chip, the genius gm who just had to have noodle arm bradford.

you need to learn that just because you dont agree with something because its not totally positive regarding the eagles doesnt mean that its trolling
using arbitrary terms like "joke" are the definition of opinion, not fact
On paper, they lose. On paper they should have won the first two games though.
The team is obviously not as good as people were projecting coming out of the preseason, but I also doubt they are as bad as what we've seen so far. Over a sample size of two games they have been the worst team in football, but I still project them as a mid-table team when the season ends. The division is terrible, too. That being said, their major liabilities -- the predictability of an offense that hasn't changed in 3 years, an offensive line that is seriously weak in the middle (and I'm including Kelce), lack of playmaker WRs, and busted-up LBs -- don't seem like the kinds of problems that can be easily addressed by mid-season adjustments. The coaching staff has to find workarounds however they can, and that has to start being visible in Week 3.
It's not all coaching, though. A number of the players have just been blatantly playing below their ability, making simple execution mistakes. Unless all those guys are simultaneously entering a decline, I think we can expect some of that to get cleaned up as players revert to their usual level of play.
If Week 3 looks like Weeks 1 and 2, it's over. Also I think it's more important going forward to look respectable and to demonstrate that the issues are being addressed than it is to actually win this game. Probably also important that Byron Maxwell doesn't get burned by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

QuoteJets star CB Darrelle Revis sat out practice today with a groin injury, raising questions about his availability for Sunday's game against Philadelphia. Coach Todd Bowles didn't mention Revis in his daily news conference, which was conducted before the injury report was released. Bowles was not asked which players didn't practice. He also didn't mention Revis when asked Tuesday on a conference call which players had been hurt Monday night other than WR Eric Decker (knee). A team spokesman said Bowles would address the matter Thursday.
It's possible Revis merely was given somewhat of a day of rest with the Jets on a short week, although if that was the official reason, Revis would be listed as having not practiced because of 'not injury related' reasons. Revis was spotted in the locker room and appeared to be fine, although it's possible the Jets could be withholding the information for a day for competitive reasons.
ivory is questionable to play as well.

They either sink or swim this week. I'd love to see them swim, but I think they're going up against the wrong opponent at the wrong time. Football is won and lost on the LOS. The Jets are winning that war, the Eagles are losing it big time. They'll play better, but ultimately they'll fall short.

way too many negative plays
Bradford looked off that entire drive.
The blocking was much improved, a lot of good blocks in that drive.
the long matthews run was blown up...he just made a play and broke a tackle
the 3rd down pass was solid, though. mr. accuracy missed a td, too
overall, it was better than last week?
Is it just me, or is running a screen play in the middle of the field inside the 10 yd line not a very smart decision. Screens tend to work better when you can reall spread the defense out.

Kelce must be getting tired....he can't even get the ball to Bradford.
what's their TOP this quarter?

Graham read that well.

Will they drop a pass this possession?

kind of like the eagles but it was for six months this offseason
Donnie Jones is going to need his foot amputated after the season
offense is crap
Still haven't thrown a ball down the field
Put Sanchez in
Yawn
can you have an uglier 17 point lead
Falcons came back
Good coverage ? Noooo farg

Yeah, this is the Jets shteinting the bed much more than the Eagles actually playing like an NFL team.
A decent opponent and the Eagles are more than likely 0-3.
this jets drive longer than every eagle drive this half put together

There's still plenty of time for them to be 0-3.
Is this game that bad? Jesus, NFL RedZone has shown a total of 2 plays all second half and one was a false start on the Jets.
Well then....
Maybe Bradford can sustain a drive
Hahah
Maybe
Need a swap of field goals here and I live in immortality with phatty.

Jesus christ Matthews.

I'd rather get my wisdom teeth out again rather than watch this game again.
Walt The Ballhawk!
Youuuuuuge play
They might actually win this one. Still kinda glad I didn't watch, though.
great win, guys
really reassuring
Just sets the Jets back about 40 years for their next try.
Didn't ice the game.
On a brighter note, at least Murray guaranteed a better game today for himself by not playing.
I felt a little better about this team after the 1st half, but now I'm feeling the same level of indifference about them as I did before the game even started.
Still undefeated vs the Jets though, so that's cool.
Another limp dick offensive drive
Bring in Sanchize, Chip
Even better, my wife got to watch Brady and the Pats anally rape Jacksonville while I've got the Eagles-Jets suckfest on some zesty feed from a third-world banana republic. farg DirecTV and the NFL.
And did I say 40 yards? I think that's more like 30.
This loss is still in reach, GF.
3 and out coming up.
Quote from: Sgt PSN on September 27, 2015, 04:09:18 PM
3 and out coming up.
That would almost cinch the win. More like fumble coming out of the two-minute warning.
Botched snap coming up!
Offense is so bad. Feel bad for defense.
Or the Eagles call a time out, then have 12 on the field.
Followed by false start.
:-D
Motherfarging sloppy ending
Come on offense this is embarrassing
... and the Jets checkmate the idiocy with a hands to the face penalty.
BIG WIN! BIG WIN! :-\
the Brandon Marshall lateral was not the dumbest play in the game
Bailed out but the defense
A win is a win
Bench Bradford
bench chip
Bench Murray, too.
billy Davis and the qb are the problem

That makes me even more happier that this will shut everyone up. Thankfully Bradford had Fitzpatrick on the same field today to defllect from his world class performance.
Good God I can't take another 13 weeks of Sam Bradford.
:-D at you guys killing bradford as if he had anything to do with the horrible playcalling in the 2nd half...and the drops by mathews & sproles that should've been long tds.
Mathews would've been a TD if Bradford threw it in the right spot. He still should've caught it but by throwing back shoulder it eliminated that anyway.

Yup. Those two do what they're supposed to and catch those passes and Bradford has 100+ more yards and a 3 TD day
WE WON. WE WON. WE WON. WE WON. WE WON.
HAHAHA!

huge gain at the very least if mathews didn't try to catch the ball with his shoulder pads again.
bradford wasn't great...but he was solid. chip went ultra conservative with playcalling in the 2nd half...huge lead over a ryan fitzpatrick team...so that made sense.
Thought Bradford was mostly terrible. The receivers aren't helping him out but I disagree that he was solid.
One thing I did notice is three of his best throws came as he was rolling to his right. Might try to incorporate some bootlegs.
even many of the balls that are dropped or caught are bad throws by bradford....his #1 trait is supposed to be accuracy and its terrible right now
there were 2 bad drops, but otherwise bradford was a disaster
0 pocket presence and lowballed anything remotely down the field...behind austin on a key 3rd down...just awful. bench him but dont bench the fat ass calling the plays who traded a 2nd rounder for him

Sign Brad Goebel and move Rowe to safety bc he's terrible?
bradford aside it should be mentioned how awful the wr's are on this team....i said earlier in the week that the offense was basically wheel routes from the rb's and that again was the case today...thank god they got rid of the gang member and filled the roster with culture

bradford is awful but the notion that you would bench him for sanchez is just ridiculously stupid
calling for him to be benched in favor of buttfumble is def an overreaction. this simply isn't a super bowl team...not with bradford...not with sanchez...not with foles...just enjoy the win. :yay
At least with Sanchez you've got better odds that somebody's going to catch the ball. They may be on the defense more often than the offense, but dammit the ball will be caught!
Never been happier to eat cRowe.
Hicks might be the best LB on the team.
I like the matchup against the Skins next week. Birds go 2-2 and the division is suddenly theirs for the taking.
did riley cooper even have 1 target?
the overreation of how bad the matchup vs the jets would be for the birds is going to mirror in the coming week the overreaction of howthe birds are going to beat wash

You're on Washington? I'm shocked.

you picked the eagles to win the superbowl this year and the phillies to win 80 games
you make sense
And you said Brad Goebel was better than McNabb
Bet on Washington game?
omg god i wasnt farging serious....what is wrong with you....and why do you love a pos human being like the bedwetter so much
i have to see the line but im almost positive yes i will take action on it

Is there anything more insufferable on social media than people pining for Foles? Just because Bradford doesn't look to be the answer, doesn't mean Foles was.
If anything, I dislike giving up the 2nd rounder for Bradford more than giving up Foles.
This division definitely looks winnable right now, but if Dallas treads water without Dez and Romo, I think they'll ultimately take it. When healthy, they are a much better team than the Eagles. Call my cynical, but winning the division to play mop up duty for some superior NFC team doesn't exactly excite me. Everything about this season so far is just depressing. The team just looks so damn mediocre right now.
Oh, and if Chip wants to take another stab at a QB reclamation project next season, Kaepernick is going to be available via trade. That guy is so done in SF. I want no part of him though.

Nearly all of the guys Chip got rid of have been mediocre at best with their new teams. There might not even one of them who has really played up to the level of their new team contracts. Dion Lewis, I guess.
Basically the problem hasn't been axing guys, it's been not having any good plans for replacing their production.
It's that cocky "I'm the smartest man in the room" mentality. His "I can take anybody and plug them in this system" philosophy is back firing right in front of his face.
