Angry Colts.
I don't see how you could take the under on that.
how great was it last night watching the colts pass rush....holy shtein was it bad....lol @ bjoern werner
eagles obviously couldn't have done it this summer up till now but next tues morning brandon graham should be a colt
Need to target Ertz and hope Landry gets singled up on him some. Shouldn't be too bad to break in new OLine versus Mathis-less colts front.

Great, now we get to watch Foles hold on to the ball for 15 seconds.
one of greg cosell's 10 matchups to watch for around the league in week 2
Andrew Luck vs. Eagle Defense
When you play against the Colts, you have to be concerned a about a few things. First, Luck dropped back 60 times last week and the team would rather not have him do that, but it was likely a function of the game against the Broncos. Indy wants to push the ball and Luck is an aggressive thrower. They use a lot of three-level stretch concepts and vertical route concepts, so the Eagles have to be prepared for that and their safeties become very important. They play single high and aren't really a cover-2 team, so there will be opportunities. It will come down to pressure and the Colts don't have a great OL, so we'll see if Eagle DE Fletcher Cox can repeat the success he had last week. This will come down to the team's ability to create pressure on Luck.

I feel good about this game. I know the Colts are going to score but I think the Eagles can score with them. I think it's a "whoever has the ball last" type of game.
34-17 birds

Luck gets injured early. Foles lights up the dome, 44-17 Eagles and the over.
38-28 Colts
Luck with some comeback bullshtein like usual
Eagles D harasses Luck, Foles performs well, Shady puts on a show.
Eagles 33
Colts 24 (last 7 points in garbage time)
Going with the assumption that Foles doesn't shove his head up his ass before the game and the Colts receivers are capable of catching things.

potentially....but to come back to it after it didnt work on 1st? eh.
but lets be real its the 1st of drive of the 2nd game of the season. they scored points. onward and upward.
Eagles offense is gonna be the Eagles offense against these guys. The question is whether the defense can handle Luck all game enough to squeak out a win. I'm guessing not but let's see.
what the farg was trnt cole doing there
Hey, the first half Eagles defense came back!
he just did it again
Maybe they should do something about those runs to the left.
good guess billy
I wish I was a Colts RB
twice trent cole inexplicably ran down the line and left his edge completely unprotected
gardner is awful
Whole defense was overcommitted to the strong side of that unbalanced line. No one was home anywhere near Cole.
The Colts running game is crap, that was a bad looking drive for the D.
Sproles is so good
Nice katch, KKKooper
Update on the number of times Cooper has caught a pass on that route in his career: 0

KKKooper hasn't done a thing to earn that new contract money.
they also cant tackle...missing them left and right and letting bradshaw and richardson bounce off for an extra 1 or 2.
good stuff
This stupid, jumpy defense that can't tackle or cover is kinda bad.

3rd and 13 is game changer. Go from getting the ball back with 5 left down 4 to potentially going in down 11 at half.

thats a chip kelly bullshtein team win
farg you desean. who needs your talent.
They played bad and still won...pretty amazing.
Sproles
MVP -Sproles or Refs? I'll take Sproles.
I can't believe Sproles only had 4 carries in that game.

Refs...the "interception" changed the game. The horse collar was a make up call for last week's bullshtein call.
ray lewis "people don't understand how huge momentum is" - "momentum is so huge"

That "horse collar" was no different than the one called against the Eagles last week. They were both awful calls. And TY Hilton wasn't held or dragged down, it was in thd 5 yard range and there was minimal contact. Boo-farging-hoo.
gotta give luck a lot of credit for blaming himself not the refs
There were a few missed calls both ways. There were also a shtein ton of calls made, mostly against the Eagles. They should work on not being so terrible before McCoy and Sproles can't magic them up a win one of these weeks.
Bad calls or not they happen to every team...regardless this was a UUUUUUGE (like Degen Al Michaels says) win
I thought Boykin was a good non-call. There was barely any contact.
The horsecollar was BS, but those kind of calls happen all the time - often against the Eagles. It's nice for them to be a beneficiary for one of those calls.
the INT was questionable...the horse collar was awful, but theres no way you can say they lose without it. the INT was the game, obviously.
good teams catch breaks. im sticking with that.
Duce needs to get Sproles working hard on stiff arming, that's really what I've taken away from this game.
And Billy Davis needs to put a damned shock collar on these defenders to stop them from going offsides.

farg Pagano.
Can for sure nitpick but no complaints going into Indy and getting a W even with 4th qtr breaks.
Ertz is averaging 23.3 per catch
More Ertz less KKKooper attempts plz.

without the horse collar it would have been 3rd and long....certainly no guarantee the colts would have stopped it but its a huge difference btwn 3rd and long at the 28 versus first and ten at the 43
So, the Eagles can go ahead and cut Cooper. Jordan Matthews is just as good at not catching the ball, and Sproles seems to have this receiving thing figured out pretty well. Might as well leave him out there to do that if you need a third WR.
If Foles ever regains something similar to his 2013 form, this team might be OK.

oh no doubt
but if you call a penalty on the int, the game is over. 2 score game in that spot is a no go.
without the horse collar...theyre in a tough spot but its not the game

They are going to keep generating strange stats as long as they have a weirdo coach.
The penalties cost the Colts the chance to ice the game but the reality is that I'm positive they still had a >50% of winning before that embarrassing 3 and out with 3 minutes and change left.

I thought that throwing on 3rd down (the int) was as bone headed as it gets. Up 7, in FG range with one of the all time great kickers on your team. Hand it off and if it doesn't get the 1st, take the 3 points and go up 2 scores.

Like Runyan and Westbrook....
Those are my favorite plays to watch..when screens develop and the OL builds a wall
Yeah, I was thinking that tonight. One of these games there's going to have to be a time out while they pull Sproles out of Kelce's butt (which is where they hide the win til the end of each game because they are definitely pulling it out of their ass).
I'm liking their 23 personnel group to just get the WRs the hell off the field.

So that ending was... awesome.
Lucky win, but the Eagles have had more than their share of unclucky losses. And speaking of Luck, the Colts deserved to lose for the way they didn't use their best player down the stretch.
I've always been a big Sproles fan. How can you not be? But in the Eagles uniform, watching him is the same sort of fun as it used to be watching a healthy-ish Westbrook, which was, you know, fun.
Speaking of Sproles...uh, solid use of a late round pick.
Also, was there a better feeling than not seeing Henery trot out there? No idea what the Eagles had in Parkey, but I do know what they had in Henery. I'd have been a lot more surprised if Henery made both kicks than not. This was one of those games when it was painfully obvious how critical the kicker can be.
ESPN's heads reaction to the officiating is hilarious.
11-90

Which team got penalized more?
Conspiracy!
I love Sproles and what he brings to the offense. But they're using him as a safety net too much. Teams are going to catch on. Their receivers have been as bad as advertised the first two games. Maclin isn't Desean no matter how many times they want to send him deep and Cooper ain't shtein without a decent receiver on the other side. Still wish they'd use Maclin more on intermediate routes, he was great in that role under Reid. Still think Matthews will be decent once he settles in a bit more.
Oh yeah, and Lane Johnson can't come back soon enough. Gardner did an ok job considering he's a 3rd string RT but they did a lot of chipping and adjusting and that's going to be an issue once teams break down films and see what they're dealing with.
I am slightly concerned about Mathews at this pt [insert igy comment]. They weren't as obvious as the preseason game but I think he dropped 3 passes last night.

Can Lane Johnson come back early if the new drug policy is ratified? I know that some players can, but I haven't definitively seen if he's one of them.

No because whatever he tested positive for wasn't on the altered list.
yeah Lane Johnson was a straight up PED suspension where as Welker and the others were guys who took amphetamines which at the time classified as a PED but are now being re-classified as recreational
Well, that sucks. Would have been nice to have him back this week ;-).

the fletcher cox horse collar call while a bad one was in no way comparable to the one last night....it happened in the first quarter and the drive ended with just a fg
They were both awful calls. Good teams over come bad calls especially at home on MNF a week after a bad loss.
On a side note, I'm relieved they're not calling the minor grabs downfield like they were in preseason. NFL would be unwatchable if they stuck to that.
Thankfully there were no good teams in this game.
Anyway, Zach Ertz is quietly leading the NFL in 20+ yard receptions. Go Zach Ertz.

By the way, 2-0 or not, I'm not ready to believe that this is a good team until they can put together a whole game. They've had good enough flashes to win, but they've also looked like shtein for long stretches on both sides of the ball. Right now they look exactly like a team who could win or lose against absolutely anyone.
any team that was losing to jacksonville by 17 at one point in time cant be that good
the eagles win last night was more impressive than wash routing jacksonville at home but neither the skins or eagles have beat a team who has won yet
i see a three point game whichever way it goes

Pretty much. You can't expect to get behind by 2+ scores every game and magically come back. One thing I'll say though is that Chip seems to be good at 2nd half adjustments. Between Andy and Chip, you might get a solid game plan for 4 quarters.

I am sure you can go back and find instances of good/great teams who have had hiccups against teams. its possible jacksonville will not be up by 17 on anyone the rest of the year
i know you get butt hurt by anything negative being said about the eagles....but im not saying jacksonville is better or anything...im just saying thus far thru two games the eagles have not shown to be a very good team yet
There's nothing to even argue there. They could become a good team...but nobody could argue that they look legitimately and consistently good to this point. There's no way.
there is no team that has looked consistently good through 2 weeks....maybe just the bengals and bills. but come on.
the 49ers, packers, patriots, seahawks have all lost. the broncos put together 1 good half and have otherwise been mediocre. its week 2. the eagles are 2-0. this is a good thing.

i think it has more to do with conditioning and how many plays they run thruout a game than any pep talk
Or he actually adjusts and adapts unlike the fat farg who was here before.
he doesnt adjust shtein....he runs the same handful of plays the whole game and dares you to stop it...and before you flip out thats not a criticism...its just how confident he is in his playbook....same reason he can go into a season with the wr's he has and be confident
Agreed on him just running the same plays and that the conditioning takes over. He may tweak here or there but its all the same...fast.
Like when KKKooper said last year "what's the plan?" and his reponse of "what's the plan? to score farging points - that's the plan! Come on."
He is confident his system will work.
A Phillymag commenter posted this regarding the ESPN shot of the playsheet:
QuoteCHIP KELLY Terminology 101
Formations are Left and Right, predictably they start with L or R
Lou / Load are all Left formations (notice he is calling them from right hash which makes sense)
Rock / Roy are right formations
Based on the play card I suspect Lou/Roy are the same formation and Load/Rock are the same as well.
Anything after the formation is motion. Example is Z top. Most likely is Z receiver in top motion.
Chip uses numbers for run game and words for pass
Run game numbers are typically double numbers like 12/13 or 41/42.
First number is type of run. Chip is known for only having 5 run concepts. They would be numbered 1-5.
Second number is direction. Odd is left, even is right.
Three numbers usually means play action out of a run. Example is 142.
If there is only one number its most likely a pass protection. Example 6 or 7 is the same pass pro, just left and right.
So
Rock 12 Blow
Rock ( right formation)
12 (Guessing inside zone read to the right)
Blow (back side pass concept)
This is a true package play with the QB giving the ball or throwing based on read keys. He will throw this to the back side (left side) only.
Load Z Top 143 Tony Hash
Load (left formation)
Z top (Z receiver goes in top motion)
143 (play action fake of a left run)
Tony Hash (Pass concept, most likely a TE first read, Y second read with someone running a Hash seam)
A lot of things have to change and players get better but right now they're 2-0. I'll take it.
