A new year, a new thread, but the same old joy of pointing and laughing at the bottom feeders of the NFC East.
The homerism over on ES is strong right now. Not as disgusting as years past but now that they're looking for their eight coach since the beginning of the decade.
Norv Turner, Terry Robiskie (interim), Marty Schottenheimer, Steve Spurrier, The Coaching Angel, Jim Zorn, Mike Shanahan and whomever Lil Danny chooses as the next fella to steal millions from him.
When they hired Spurrier ES was excited. We got Art Mills' articles about how they were better than everyone. Then ES was touched by The Coaching Angel and they were orgasmic. After he left to go watch cars drive in circles they went into Hardcore Zornography and failed miserably. Then came washed up and overrated Mike Shanahan and his clown of a son.
Now?
Who knows. But reading ES is warming my heart because the masses there are so so happy that Danny seems to be taking the back seat again and letting Bruce Allen do the searching and that, by golly, is the greatest thing ever. This approach is methodical! And thorough! And will bring them back to prominence.
Truly year 'round entertainment.
QuoteThe game plan Snyder has with Bruce Allen seems promising to me. I heard Doc Walker the other day getting excited that Bruce is in charge. Doc also said you have to realize where Bruce Allen came from. Bruce has been in this business that is the NFL since he was a child. Being the son of George Allen your going to learn football. When Bruce was a kid he was hanging with Deacon Jones. I believe Bruce named his son after Deacon. Bruce Allen Lives , eats and breathes football. Bruce Allen is a winner just like his father and his politician brother. The Allen family are winners. I believe with Allen making these coaching decisions we are excellent shape.
QuoteNow compare that mess with this current coaching search. Instead of a rash knee jerk hiring we finally have three football minds casting a wide net of options and turning over every rock for the best person available. In no way does this compare to the circus searches from 2008 and 2009. No sleepovers, no 2:00am flights, no Crown Royal, nada.
This will be the first time in Dan's ownership that someone else is going to interview and hire a head coach.
Folks, this is what we've asked for all along.
http://es.taterskins.com/topic/375845-when-are-people-going-to-start-respecting-gibbs/
QuoteLet's be real here. He came back for 4 years and got us to the playoffs in two of those seasons.
And we won a playoff game. Only the second playoff game we'd won since he left 12 years earlier.
I'm so sick of seeing Gibbs mentioned in the same breath or vain of the other rejects or has-beens who have coached here since 1.0. He's the best thing that ever came across this franchise, and was the only coach to actually resign from Snyder instead of be fired.
Show some respect this man for which we owe EVERYTHING THAT GIVES THIS FRANCHISE ANY RESPECT AT ALL.
All hail Gibbs. For now and always.
QuoteExtremeSkins Fan View: Cap Hell Rocks!
By Arthur Mills
ExtremeSkins.com
March 16, 2006
Don't hate us because we're beautiful.
No more blank, wondering stares, confused head scratching, frothing emotional outbursts, conspiracy theories or embarrassing, dismissive references to 2000. The Washington taterskins are the central theme of every NFL team message board out there. Here's a message to you all from all ExtremeSkins fans everywhere.
It's time to embrace the reality of it all. Simply, we're better than you.
That's it. Look no further. We are better than you. We're more fun. It feels better to be us. We've got flair. We're audacious, capricious, bodacious, supercalifragilisticxpalidocious.
Are you finally getting it?
Yes, yes, I know cap hell was supposed to be upon us. I know that's what you've been told. I feel for you, I really do. As you come to realize we're better than you, a second bit of stark reality must also penetrate. We're smarter than them.
Repeat after me.
The Washington taterskins are managed, coached and owned by highly professional people who know more about running a football franchise than ALL the unnamed, anonymous sources any reporter has yanked from the broom closet and quoted.
Don't take my word for it. Take the following words for it.
Brandon Lloyd, Antwaan Randle El, Adam Archuleta, Andre Carter, Todd Collins, Christian Fauria.
The question you all should be asking isn't, "How is all this possible?" No. The question should be, "How didn't we know this was all possible?"
Six years of assurances cap hell was on the way and you still allowed yourself to believe the tripe. Perhaps busting the cap hell myth as it relates to the Washington taterskins is just too painful a thing for media and fans of other teams to do.
Like a child coming to the harsh knowledge Santa doesn't exist, the media and opposing teams' fans are struggling desperately to hang on to the fiction that cap hell is on the way for the taterskins despite--literally--YEARS of demonstrated contrary evidence.
Here's the best part.
You don't have to hate us for what we're doing. You can do it, too.
"The thing I want to emphasize is this: We haven't done one thing that anybody else can't do," Joe Gibbs said after the introductory press conference for Andre Carter. "We have certain rules in the league. Here's the cap, here's the numbers, here's what you can spend, so everybody in the league can do what we're doing, it's just that they choose not to, many of them."
Deep down, this is really the issue, isn't it? You can do it too and you know it, but, your team doesn't do it, so, you have a hard choice. Hate your team, or hate us.
Say you're a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. You always have all those many millions available, which somehow never seem to get spent. All week you're hearing how you have LeCharles Bentley locked up as your free agent masterstroke to solidify your offensive line.
You are giddy. You're thrilled. You know this is the guy you need. He fills a need and makes it a strength. You're excited about the prospects of adding such a substantial piece. Then, the Cleveland Browns call, offer a few more bucks to Bentley and Bentley winds up in Cleveland leaving you with nothing more than whimpering excuses that Bentley is from Cleveland and always wanted to play there.
Oh, hush.
Antwaan Randle El is from Chicago. He's always wanted to play there. Yet he's playing in D.C. Adam Archuleta admits he adores Lovie Smith after years playing for him with St. Louis and wanted to play with him in Chicago. Yet he's playing in D.C. Andre Carter just had to meet the Broncos because his father played there 12 years and he envisioned being the second generation of his family with the team. Yet he's playing in D.C.
And it's driving you crazy because you were so excited and thrilled about the prospects of adding a good player your management and owner can't figure out how to land while we get EVERY single player we shoot at.
We get to actually live the thrill and giddiness you only get to brush up against. And it's killing you.
Did we pay a premium for generally young players entering their prime with years left to play in the NFL? You bet we did. Kind of like when the Eagles lock up their own young players for a premium before they really emerge on the scene and everyone calls that genius. Think of it like that, only, with the component of actually being smart because an expensive 24-year-old promising receiver suddenly becomes a very cheap 26-year-old receiver when he grabs 80 balls.
See, we already had good players under contract. Now we have more.
As you struggle to find words to describe the coming cap doom heading our way, try to process one final thought. When you have that free agent you need all lined up and you don't get him, well, isn't that really what cap hell feels like?
I wouldn't know, because I don't ever have to feel that way
Greatest thing ever.
My favorite note about Archuleta is that he sucked so damn badly that by the end of his reign of suck he was relegated to "personal punt protector".
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81fe031a/printable/easy-to-come-up-with-worst-freeagency-move-of-last-decade
QuoteSo, it becomes awfully hard to pick one (Jeff George, Deion Sanders, Albert Haynesworth?). So I'm instead going to include one massively unproductive, but quite pricey, free-agent class of 2005. Coming off a rare playoff appearance, then-coach Joe Gibbs decided to change the offense again and welcome in another big group of players that included receivers Antwaan Randle El and Brandon Lloyd, defensive end Andre Carter, safety Adam Archuleta, quarterback Todd Collins, and tight end Christian Fauria. The limos were lined up at taterskins Park for the wining and dining. Archuleta, relegated to the personal protector on the punt team within weeks, became the NFL's highest-paid safety. The enigmatic Lloyd and Randle El were paid like starting receivers, but neither performed like one. Fauria and Collins rarely played. Carter stuck around for several years with sporadic production.
A free-agent class that was supposed to lift the franchise to a Super Bowl instead became an albatross from a salary cap and roster standpoint, and came to symbolize the kind of ineffectiveness of the taterskins' approach to free agency.
lol it never gets old.

QuoteSee, we already had good players under contract. Now we have more.
QuoteI'm 45 and a born taterskins fan.My mother put me is a taterskins bib as soon as possible. I sit in the Club level. My uncle played high school ball with Chris Hanburger. Good enough for you?
It is the media. Instead of actually reporting on facts from named sources we now have anonymous sources driving sensational headlines with the main difference today being the personal nature of the attacks. The current narrative is that RGIII is coordinating a massive media campaign to tell the world how great he is instead of devoting his valuable time to perfecting his footwork. If he had only decided to stay late after practice to become a better player instead of wrestling the mic from his head coach during those league mandated pressers.
You seem like a smart guy chip. Don't you see the absolute insanity of that train of thinking? RGIII is a 23 year old kid right out of college. He grew up is a very regimented home life that stressed accountability and honesty. He has worked very hard to get where he is. He is the American Dream.
But the WaPo, and other B rated sports writers would have you believe that he is a megalomaniac that cares only about his image. For example, the "All In" ad campaign was written by the marketing people from Adidas, a company that he is under contract with. But people use that as proof that he is selfish and not serious about his day job. That is insane.
Another example is the Gatorade documentary. It was actually originally meant to be about Luck and Griffin but the producer of the film felt that RGIII's rehab from offseason knee surgery was more interesting and captivating. They did have a camera crew follow Luck too but I haven't seen the reports describing him as a selfish diva hell bent on destroying the Colts franchise from within. The whole slant is nuts.
I could go on but what is the point? The media has crossed a line in my mind and crucifies whomever they want to in the court of public opinion with facts not in evidence.
if snyder owned the eagles would you all disown the team?
Christ, that's a hard question.
I might check out until ownership changed, yeah.
On the other hand, there are a dozen good reasons to drop football from my life altogether and none of them have moved me so, probably not.
I tried finding the thread they made about their fullbacks facial hair for a chuckle. Came up short. J?

Quote"The general manager needs to prevent the owner from hiring someone who's not qualified. And that's why Vinny is no longer here, to be truthful with you," Snyder said. "He's not here because his job was to prevent the owner from hiring a not-qualified coach."
QuoteShanahan hoped to acquire Marc Bulger, then the St. Louis Rams quarterback, according to two people familiar with the situation, but Snyder pushed hard for the higher profile and more marketable McNabb. The owner cut short a family vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands to meet his new quarterback.
QuoteIn 2007, he had his heart set on drafting quarterback Brady Quinn out of Notre Dame. "It took a week or so to convince him that we shouldn't do that," one former staffer said. "Then he wanted Teddy Ginn," an Ohio State wide receiver. Quinn has played for five teams in seven seasons, while Ginn has started just five games in the past four years.
The next season, still in need of a wide receiver, the team targeted Oklahoma's Malcolm Kelly in the second round, though the medical staff had major health concerns. When they took Michigan State wideout Devin Thomas 34th overall before nabbing Kelly 17 picks later, they passed on Jordy Nelson, whom several others in the football operation preferred, according to someone who was with the team at the time.
Quotemultiple employees reported receiving bags of apples one year in lieu of holiday bonuses
QuoteSnyder had tired of defensive coordinator Mike Nolan's bland play-calling. "Too vanilla," he called it, and to illustrate the point, he left a gallon of ice cream on Nolan's desk. Nolan chuckled, but later that season, the owner still wasn't pleased and sent more ice cream, three five-gallon drums this time, with the note: "I wasn't joking. I do not like vanilla."
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24399121/taterskins-coach-search-jay-gruden-expected-to-emerge-as-top-candidate

This is why that fan base is a joke

the hits keep on coming...lololol
QuoteBut according to insiders, Griffin's public campaign to have the offense altered for him was just the tip of his egotism in his second year. Behind closed doors, Griffin had fierce finger-pointing tensions with his wide receivers, and he bragged to teammates that he could procure favors from the owner and influence the franchise's direction.

They plan on introducing Jay Gruden as head coach today
I love that hire for them because I think he's going to be terrible. He wasn't a great OC at Cincinnati. This has a Jim Zorn tenure feel to it
smells more like david shula to me
but either way i cant see it ending well
one of the nfl guys tweeted something like "Bengals fans are thrilled to see him go, Snyder got his "name" hire, and Bruce Allen gets his buddy back"
lol
What an awful hire. The Eagles had rumored interest in him last season...aside from hiring Billick I can't think of a worse candidate they interviewed.
they also promoted a 27 year old to OC and kept haslett...meaning the new coach didnt get to pick either of his coordinators
How do you hang onto Haslett? Someone post the Art article saying this is a great hire.
That is not a fear-inducing hire.

Hi ho hi ho off to ES I go...
Its like the Phillies always getting the wrong brother! They got the wrong Gruden.
Jay is terrible. ES will be gobbling him up and then in three years he'll be run outta town.
its tough to judge him because hes been handicapped by andy dalton the last 3 years, but i cant imagine this is going to work out
This might be the best hire in Snyder's tenure and it's still not going to work out very well.
hes had some good hires...zorn was the one catastrophe.....its how he runs his organization that makes the situations untenable
gibbs schotty shanny were all fine hires...spurrier on paper was def worth a shot....he just wanted no part of the nfl
the problem is all these guys have to deal with an owner like lil danni
You just can't help yourself, can you?
They were all disastrous hires, especially Shanahan.
Thankfully.
you miss more pts than anna kornikova

schotty is the 5th winningest coach in the history of the nfl
and shanny is a fine coach who has won two superbowls
those are at worst solid hires....certainly all much better than jay gruden...which is all i said
be smarter...read a little and think about what you are gonna type before you start
I disagree on Shanahan...I was calling him a fraud when he was still in Denver. He's overrated.
Schotty probably would have worked out ok, but he only lasted 1 season I think and went 8-8. If memory serves correctly, didn't they start 3-5 and then finish 5-3 that year?
I knew Shanny wouldn't work. He's not a terrible coach IMO, but he's def overrated. He didn't accomplish much before or after Elway and TD.
im not sure shanny can be overrated when pretty much everyone has been calling him overrated for at least five years

My generational taterskins era that I was so, SO fortunate to grow up through and experience with this team that cemented this 31 years and counting love affair between us.
How can you stand to read that shtein?
Pure vomit.
Its hilarious to me because of how over the top ridiculous it is
It's a never ending contest among idiots to prove that they are the "biggest" fan ever. Probably no different than the EMB or any other team forum in that regard. That's actually the one great thing about this place....it never developed into a fandom contest and is probably the only thing that kept me from jumping ship 10 years ago, because I certainly didn't stick around for you idiots.
Sure there are some fans like that on the EMB but for the most part they're cynical like cf. One thing I always took pride in our fan base is they call it like they see it. The silver lining crap doesn't exist with eagles fans like it does other places. ES takes it to the next level of homerism.
As bad as the EMB is there's no one there who is even remotely as awful as that.
I mean, "Coach Jay?"
Really??
Just farging die.
Nothing will ever top Touched by a Coaching Angel. Nothing.
Nope...that's the GOAT of internet fandom ridiculousness.

ES def takes it to another level, but idiot homers are everywhere.
How can a fan of a team who has never won anything be a homer? I don't know a single Eagles fan who thinks the team can do no wrong and that's what I see as a homer. If you're excited by the progress your team is making either through personnel or coaching hires, I don't see that as being homertastic. It's just being somewhat positive instead of being a cynical prick.

isn't the only one to have that kind of cash sitting in his house.
QuoteSeveral witnesses at Rivera's trial testified that Taylor often kept large sums of cash in the house. One of the other men charged in the slaying, 25-year-old Jason Mitchell, attended a birthday party a few weeks earlier for Taylor's half-sister, who testified Taylor gave her a purse containing $10,000.
The half-sister, Sasha Johnson, lived in Fort Myers and knew Rivera. In his testimony, Rivera said the group thought they could steal between $100,000 and $200,000 in cash by burglarizing Taylor's house.

Quote2008 was probably one of the worst drafts talent-wise in the last 15 years. Not to give an excuse to the FO or Dan, but not many people were hitting on studs there.
WRs and RBs taken in the second and third rounds (after the Skins took Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly) who are better than either of the Skins picks:
Jordy Nelson, Eddie Royal,
Matt Forte, Jerome Simpson,
DeSean Jackson,
Ray Rice, Kevin Smith, Earl Bennett,
Jamaal Charles, Harry Douglas, Mario Manningham
This is supposed to be bad second and third round for offense????
Alfred Morris benefited from Shannahan's downhill blocking schemes. He's not big enough to be a bruiser, fast enough to be a speed guy, or shifty enough to make people miss. Not hating on the guy because I think he's a decent back, but there are 10 other backs in the league I'd rather have. He'll never be as good as Jamaal Charles.
Jamaal Charles is a flat out beast. Top three in the NFL.

their defense was 22nd in the nfl when they won the division in 2012
right and falling to 30th in points helped them. gotcha.
griffin playing at an mvp level making first downs staying on the field helping alfred morris run for 1700 yards helps a defense
the taterskins 2012 defense and 2013 defense was essentially the same
trust me this team will go as rg3 goes
this isnt a mensa test
They lucked out in 2012.
The division stinks and in the modern nfl, the teams with the best QB play typically win. This isn't complicated. So if Bob3 plays like 2012, the Skins are definitely in contention. Don't care how bad their D is because the Eagles D wasn't all that this year either.
I'm not going as far to say the Skins will win with a healthy RG3, but you certainly have to keep them in the equation.
So they might win or they might not?
No way.

and its why i said they "probably" win the division if he plays like he did pre injury...other things could happen to prevent them but if a healthy and playing up to full capability rg3 is my qb i like my chances

They designated him an LB, so he'll get $1.7M less than he would've gotten as a DE
That will make for a pleasant starting point at the negotiation table.
That's actually hilarious.
At first glance that sounds like a fun thing to trash Snyder and that horrible franchise over, but Orakpo really has been playing more as an OLB and Ozzie did the same thing to Terrell Suggs.
the reason orakpo's sack totals are so low is precisely because he plays linebacker on many downs.....hes not a demarcus ware type altho I think he probably should be...if I was a DC id have him be primarily be an edge rusher

This is the role I wanted him with the Eagles. Cole needs to be replaced. He was fine last season but he's long in the tooth and is too inconsistent. They need a nasty edge rusher more than they need any other position. QBs had too much time in the pocket. I actually wanted Orakpo then another edge rusher in the draft if possible. The problem with their D now is they have too many solid role players and not enough difference makers.

QuoteTo Everyone in our Washington taterskins Nation:
Several months ago I wrote you about my personal reflections on our team name and on our shared Washington taterskins heritage. I wrote then - and believe even more firmly now - that our team name captures the best of who we are and who we can be, by staying true to our history and honoring the deep and enduring values our name represents.
In that letter, I committed myself to listening and learning from all voices with a perspective about our Washington taterskins name. I've been encouraged by the thousands of fans across the country who support keeping the taterskins tradition alive. Most - by overwhelming majorities - find our name to be rooted in pride for our shared heritage and values.
"There are Native Americans everywhere that 100% support the name," Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Chairwoman Mary L. Resvaloso told me when I came to visit her tribe. "I believe God has turned this around for something good." She told me that it was far more important for us to focus on the challenges of education in Native American communities. I listened closely, and pledged to her that I would find ways to improve the daily lives of people in her tribe.
What would my resolve to honoring our legacy mean if I myself - as the owner of and a passionate believer in the Washington taterskins - didn't stay true to my word? I wanted and needed to hear firsthand what Native Americans truly thought of our name, our logo, and whether we were, in fact, upholding the principle of respect in regard to the Native American community.
So over the past four months, my staff and I travelled to 26 Tribal reservations across twenty states to listen and learn first-hand about the views, attitudes, and experiences of the Tribes. We were invited into their homes, their Tribal Councils and their communities to learn more about the extraordinary daily challenges in their lives.
"I appreciated your sincerity to learn about our culture and the real-life issues we face on a daily basis," Pueblo of Zuni Governor Arlen Quetawki told us after we toured his reservation. "I look forward to working together with you to improve the lives of Native Americans in any way possible."
The more I heard, the more I've learned, and the more I saw, the more resolved I became about helping to address the challenges that plague the Native American community. In speaking face-to-face with Native American leaders and community members, it's plain to see they need action, not words.
Yes, some tribes are doing well. And in our candid conversations, we learned that we share so much with Indian country. We find their appreciation of history, legacy, caring for their elders and providing a better future for their youth inspirational and admirable.
But the fact is, too many Native American communities face much harsher, much more alarming realities. They have genuine issues they truly are worried about, and our team's name is not one of them. Here are just a few staggering, heartbreaking facts about the challenges facing Native Americans today:
-- The official poverty rate on reservations is 29 percent, as determined by the U.S. Census.
36 percent of families with children are below the poverty line on reservations, compared with
9 percent of families nationally. Jobs are scarce, and so is genuine opportunity.
-- Rampant diabetes, alcohol and drug abuse, violence, and heightened suicide rates afflict Native American youth, adults, and veterans. Life expectancies in high poverty Native American communities are the lowest anywhere in the Western Hemisphere — except for Haiti.
-- Tribal reservations can lack even the most basic infrastructure that most Americans take for granted. For example, according to the independent, highly respected Millennium Project, 13 percent of Native American households have no access to safe water and/or wastewater disposal, compared with just 0.6 percent in non-native households. Similarly, 14 percent of homes on Native American reservations have no electricity, compared to just 1 percent among non-native households. It is hard to build for a better tomorrow without the basic needs of today.
These aren't rare circumstances. These are the unfortunate facts found throughout Indian country today.
I've listened. I've learned. And frankly, its heart wrenching. It's not enough to celebrate the values and heritage of Native Americans. We must do more.
I want to do more. I believe the Washington taterskins community should commit to making a real, lasting, positive impact on Native American quality of life — one tribe and one person at a time. I know we won't be able to fix every problem. But we need to make an impact.
And so I will take action.
As loyal fans of the Washington taterskins, I want you to know that tomorrow I will announce the creation of the Washington taterskins Original Americans Foundation.
The mission of the Original Americans Foundation is to provide meaningful and measurable resources that provide genuine opportunities for Tribal communities. With open arms and determined minds, we will work as partners to begin to tackle the troubling realities facing so many tribes across our country. Our efforts will address the urgent challenges plaguing Indian country based on what Tribal leaders tell us they need most. We may have created this new organization, but the direction of the Foundation is truly theirs.
Our work is already underway, under the leadership of Gary Edwards, a Cherokee and retired Deputy Assistant Director of the United States Secret Service, as well as a founder and chief executive officer of the National Native American Law Enforcement Association.
Because I'm so serious about the importance of this cause, I began our efforts quietly and respectfully, away from the spotlight, to learn and take direction from the Tribal leaders themselves. In addition to travelling and meeting in-person with Tribal communities, we took a survey of tribes across 100 reservations so that we could have an accurate assessment of the most pressing needs in each community.
The stories I heard and the experiences I witnessed were of children without winter coats or athletic shoes; students in makeshift classrooms without adequate school supplies; text books more than decades old; rampant and unnecessary suffering from preventable diseases like diabetes; economic hardship almost everywhere; and in too many places too few of the tools and technology that we all take for granted every day — computers, internet access, even cellphone coverage.
In the heart of America's Indian country, poverty is everywhere. That's not acceptable. We have so much, yet too many Native Americans have so little.
Our work has already begun:
-- As the bitter Arctic winds swept across the Plains this winter, we distributed over 3,000 cold-weather coats to several tribes, as well as shoes to players on boys and girls basketball teams.
"It's been one of the coldest winters on record," Lower Brule Sioux Tribe Vice Chairman Boyd Gourneau told me. "The entire Tribe is so appreciative of the coats we received for our youth and elders. It's been such a great relationship, and we hope it grows."
-- We assisted in the purchase of a new backhoe for the Omaha Tribe in Nebraska. The Tribe will now be able to complete the burial process for their loved ones even in the coldest winter months, as well as assist in water pipe repairs which, without a functioning backhoe, has left the tribe without water -- for days.
These projects were the first of many and we currently have over forty additional projects currently in process. We look forward to telling you more about these as our work proceeds.
For too long, the struggles of Native Americans have been ignored, unnoticed and unresolved. As a team, we have honored them through our words and on the field, but now we will honor them through our actions. We commit to the tribes that we stand together with you, to help you build a brighter future for your communities.
The Washington taterskins Original Americans Foundation will serve as a living, breathing legacy - and an ongoing reminder - of the heritage and tradition that is the Washington taterskins. I'm glad to be able to launch this vital initiative today.
With Respect and Appreciation,
Dan Snyder
P.S. Throughout this journey, there have been many incredible moments. One of my favorite fan moments took place in Gallup, NM - to the cheers of dozens of Washington taterskins fans. As Pueblo of Zuni Governor Arlen Quetawki noted, "We even had an unprompted welcoming party of Washington taterskins fans from Zuni and Navajo greet you when you departed from the airport!" The passion and support for the Burgundy and Gold throughout the country has been overwhelming.

Funny how almost 100% of posters on here really want Jackson but every time we discussed him before playing the Eagles we almost all said he was 1) one -dimensional 2) Thug Diva 3) gets shut out of games often 4) not the player that would decide the game
Now that he might come here all of a sudden he's going to be unstoppable and I have even heard people around my town saying he will put us over the top and we will be top 5 offense. Cant have it both ways. If we sign him we are officially the Raiders - desperate for anything resembling a top team and will do anything and sign anyone. Smells like TO part 2 to me - how did that work out for Dallass?
Please tell me I am off on this - or are we just all so desperate as Danny and can't really see what will probably happen: 1 year deal, 1000 yards , pisses off coach and then gone and we pay him 5 Million to just fill in for 1 year when we could draft a nice WR in the 3rd.
No thanks - but if we can get him cheap then sure - but we all know that isn't happening - Desean and cheap don't belong in the same sentence

And then Sunday came, with Griffin unveiling his new personal logo.

The Seattle Times is the latest newspaper to ban the word "taterskins" when covering the NFL team in Washington, D.C.
"The most controversial name in sports won't appear again in The Seattle Times' print edition or on the seattletimes.com home pages as long as I am sports editor," The Seattle Times sports editor Don Shelton wrote. "It's time to ban the use of 'taterskins,' the absurd, offensive and outdated name of the NFL team in Washington, D.C. Past time, actually."

Two weeks after the taterskins hired political blogger Ben Tribbett to help defend the team's controversial name, Tribbett announced late Monday that he will resign. So reports washingtonpost.com. Tribbett wrote the Virginia political blog "Not Larry Sabato," where he broke the story of taterskins executive Bruce Allen's brother, former Virgina Senator George Allen referring to one of his opponent's campaign volunteers as a "macaca" in 2006. On Monday, Indian Country Today Media Network posted several Tweets by Tribbett from a casino in 2010 in which he uses derogatory terms to describe an interaction with a Native American.

QuoteUniversity Of Minnesota Might Ban 'taterskins' When Team Comes To Town
ByTom Kludt
The University of Minnesota is taking steps to keep the Washington taterskins name off "promotional and game date materials" when the team visits Minneapolis in November.
According to the Washington Post, Eric Kaler, the university's president, told Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) in a letter that the school is working with the Minnesota Vikings on the matter.
The taterskins will play the Vikings on Nov. 2 at TCF Bank Stadium on the university's Minneapolis campus. (The Vikings will play at the outdoor facility for the next two seasons while its new stadium is being built.)
McCollum sent a letter in June to Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, urging the team to take a stand against what she described as "clearly an offensive racial slur."
The Democratic lawmaker contended that the "presence of the Washington franchise and their racist name on the University of Minnesota campus would be in violation of the Board of Regents' Equity, Diversity, Equal Opportunity, and Affirmative Action Policy."
"Mr. Wilf, I believe you are a man of integrity," she wrote. "Therefore I am calling upon you to publically (sic) demonstrate leadership on behalf of your organization and the people of Minnesota by adding your voice to the millions of Americans who are calling for this racist mascot to be changed and for Native Americans to be treated with respect and dignity by the NFL."
In his response to McCollum, Kaler said that the university is "working with the Vikings to make every effort to eliminate the use of Washington's team name" when the two teams play.
The university's action is the latest in a growing number of protests against Washington's racially charged name, but it's still unclear what the home team will do.
Lester Bagley, the Vikings' executive vice president of public affairs, told WaPo on Wednesday that the team takes "the issue very seriously" but is still determining how it will respond.
Tony Wyllie, a spokesperson for the taterskins, told WaPo that the team disagrees with the university's effort.

Quote.the best catch-and-run WR in the league and his name his Garcon, that's right, even Megatron just makes his plays catching balls above people and being big...Garcon can take a dumpoff to the house like no one else...an interesting TE game, and for crying out loud, what are you gonna do when Desean Jackson runs behind the line for what might be a reverse, or just plain lines up wide anyways.
The taterskins offense will write itself, and it will do so all over the NFC East. The challenges will be the Seahawks, the 49ers, and whoever we face in the playoffs.
QuoteThe taterskins offense will write itself, and it will do so all over the NFC East.
I actually do believe that their offense will "write itself all over" the Cowboys defense. So will the Jaguars offense.
if rg3 returns anywhere close to rookie year form their offense will be elite....their weapons are sick...but their secondary is going to make every team they play look elite

they retooled the oline....replaced the worst part of it with hideous center will montgomery gone and over all replaced 40% of it...it wont be the best in the nfl but it will be much improved...
and this...
rg3
alfred morris
garcon
pimp
dre rob
jordan reed
is elite
but again rg3 has to have a comeback year...and gruden cant be a buffoon as a head coach...two things that very well could come to fruition...but on paper their offense is weapon ladened
None of those players are 'elite'. They're playing in a new offense and the line is still shtein. Unless you think Gruden is some mastermind, talent wise at skill positions they maybe crack the top 10. Elite is top 3 offense. Not a chance even if the line overperforms.
We've seen this song and dance before.
Don't hate us because we're beautiful.
as a group they are certainly elite i cant think of too many better in the nfl...and remember im saying they are elite if rookie year rg3 comes back or even close to back
they are way better than the eagles...in fact other than shady the eagles dont touch any of the other guys
remember the eagles #1 wr is jeremy maclin
Bet:
Eagles score more offensive points this season than the Skins
im not saying that at all....with a real rg3 the skill position players on the taterskins are clearly better thats it.....that doesn't always translate to the most pts....i think gruden is going to be a flop...put it this way tho if the teams traded coaches it wouldn't even be close
The Eagles have arguably the best offensive line in football, the best RB in football, and a QB I (and I'm guessing most GMs and coaches agree considering the ESPN poll) feel more confident in than what the Skins are offering. I'd also take the Eagles TE corps. The only clear advantage the Skins skill players have is at WR (which is a large advantage) but I think you'd get significant pushback from people in the league acting like offensive talent is a W for the Skins across the line versus Philly.
offensive line isnt a skill position and jordan reed is better than both eagle te's
washingtons third wr is arguably better than the eagles first....but garcon and pimp are def way better than the eagles first six wr...the wr advantage they have easily cancels out the diference between shady and alfred morris
and I already mentioned that rg3 has to return to form and if he does he just eats foles alive and transforms the taterskin offense to a level not many teams can touch as far as talent on paper
the x factor as mentioned is chip vs gruden...and you can even take it a step further and say lurie vs danni...the washington organization can sour any roster no matter how talented...but on a skill position basis on paper its clearly the taterskins are better....I know homerism comes into play but I don't think people realize how bad the eagle wr's are....if chip has the eagles offense in the top 3 again after the league has seen him for a year and no pimp with those wr's then he truly is a genius
Reed isn't better than Ertz.

It's fair to say that the Skins have more talented receivers, but that's about it. McCoy is better than Morris, the Eagles have three legitimate TE options and a better Oline. Saying RG3 could be great again is about as much of a sure thing as Foles having another weirdly great year.

That is incredibly awesome. Like stand the farg up and cheer awesome.
well my opinion is changed by this well thought out soliloquy by Mike Ditka
"What's all the stink over the taterskin name? It's so much [expletive] it's incredible. We're going to let the liberals of the world run this world. It was said out of reverence, out of pride to the American Indian. Even though it was called a taterskin, what are you going to call them, a Brownskin? This is so stupid it's appalling, and I hope that owner keeps fighting for it and never changes it, because the taterskins are part of an American football history, and it should never be anything but the Washington taterskins. That's the way it is."
"It's all the political correct idiots in America, that's all it is. It's got nothing to do with anything else. We're going to change something because we can. Hey listen, I went through it in the 60s, too. I mean, come on. Everybody lined up, did this. It's fine to protest. That's your right, if you don't like it, protest. You have a right to do that, but to change the name, that's ridiculous. Change the Constitution — we've got people trying to do that, too, and they're doing a pretty good job."
did you hear ditka whining like a little bitch yesterday about how liberals were going to ruin the world
and he came up with the latest patheic defense of the name....he said it didnt bother george halas...like who cares that it bothers most indians and many many non indians as long as george halas was cool with it

Let me get this straight... a supposedly impartial website administrator is actively courting support for a boycott of other commercial concerns?
Unbelievably unprofessional and unethical behavior, but then again, this is an organization that wholly embraces and defends an ethnic slur with pride.
Incredible, really.
Isn't ES affiliated with the organization? If so, the admin could be getting marching orders from higher up.
QuoteJoe Theismann with some startling comments on taterskins Broadcast Network:
"Let's stop beating around the bush," Theismann said early in the fourth quarter. "Kirk Cousins has played much better at the quarterback position than Robert Griffin III has. Now, Robert is learning to work out of a pocket. He doesn't look as smooth or as comfortable throwing the football. I mean, your eyes will tell you everything you need to know. It's going to be a decision that Jay Gruden is going to have to make," Theismann said. "Right now, Robert Griffin III is his quarterback. Now, if there was a quarterback competition, it wouldn't be a competition. Kirk Cousins would be the man I believe he would have to go to, because of the efficiency with which he has run (the offense). Now Kirk, like I said, is basically a drop-back quarterback. I see Andy Dalton in Cincinnati, I see Kirk Cousins that way. ..." As the game ended, Theismann came back to this topic. "I think there's going to be a lot of conversation after this football game regarding the quarterback position," he said.
There's going to be zero conversation. Theismann is a farging retard. Griffin is the starter regardless of what Kirk farging Cousins does.

Seriously, though... unbelievably unprofessional conduct. I don't give a shtein if you're the head cheerleader of a team. When you start making professional threats (and that's what boycotts are - organized threats) against other companies, you run the risk of having your asses sued off. And I hope it happens too. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000384792/article/analyst-robert-griffin-iiis-mechanics-have-regressed
QuoteIf Robert Griffin III sits out the Washington taterskins' game versus the Tampa Buccaneers on Thursday night, he will go the entire preseason without directing a single touchdown drive.
Griffin's transition from gimmick offense to pocket passer was fully expected to feature a few bumps in the road. What has had us concerned since the preseason opener, though, is that the bad habits in his footwork and throwing motion seem to have carried over from last season's return from ACL surgery.
Appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd this week, ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski confirmed, after watching hours of preseason film, that Griffin's mechanics have regressed.
"They have regressed in the fundamental way of throwing the football," Jaworski said, via The Washington Post. "His throwing slot, his footwork, his inability to remain consistent in that."
The preseason attention has primarily focused on RGIII's reckless playing style, exacerbated by an inability to execute a proper slide.
Jaworski is more alarmed by the mechanical issues and Griffin's rudimentary understanding of what it takes to succeed versus NFL defenses.
"Because you have to play from the pocket, you have to play smart," Jaworski added. "Bill Walsh said it best: You have to process information quickly, and that's really what the position is about.
"You know, every year there's hundreds of guys coming out that can throw the football. But the great ones can process information, throw it accurately, and with pinpoint accuracy, and velocity when necessary."
RGIII's struggles have been an ongoing topic of discussion on the Around The NFL Podcast. Whereas the offseason was filled with the promise of a return to 2012 form, the harsh reality is that Griffin is the rare franchise quarterback currently being outplayed by his backup.
And just a reminder:
QuoteIn the meantime, here's a breakdown of what the two sides received in the trade:
Washington received: QB Robert Griffin III
St. Louis received: DT Michael Brockers, CB Janoris Jenkins, RB Isaiah Pead, G Rokevious Watkins, LB Alec Ogletree, WR Stedman Bailey, RB Zac Stacy, OT Greg Robinson
As we sit here today, that means the taterskins got a starting quarterback. The Rams, meanwhile, got starters at defensive tackle, cornerback, linebacker, running back and offensive line with a receiver who could likely grab that role this year.
Quote...on Thursday night, he will go the entire preseason without directing a single touchdown drive.
Should be: ".... Thursday night, he will have gone the entire...."
How do people get paid to write this poorly? Where are the farging editors?
Are you kidding me? Look at Todd's grammar. The bar is obviously low.
QuoteClowney has never played against someone like Trent. He has never seen that size and speed at a professional level. He is about to go to school.

QuoteThe situation is pitted as us (taterskins fans and Snyder) versus them (the media). Snyder is our best and most influential ally in this overblown mess and he has done everything exactly the way I would! (Minus a few PR gaffes that he separated himself from) Now there is talk of a new stadium, just talk is all. We know that a new stadium would be nice. As long as he doesn't price the fans, the ones he's standing beside in the name change fight, out of the picture then he's golden.

QuoteSchool officials at Neshaminy High School in Pennsylvania have issued suspensions for the student editor and faculty adviser of the student newspaper there after the paper refused to print the word "taterskins," the racist nickname of the school's athletic teams.
Gillian McGoldrick, the paper's student Editor-in-Chief, was suspended from the paper for a month. The paper's faculty adviser Tara Huber was also suspended without pay for two days by district Superintendent Robert Copeland for failing to stop the students from moving ahead with their ban on the word.
Tensions between the school's administration and the editors of Playwickian have been building for nearly a year. Twice the editors of the Playwickian announced they would not print the name of the school's mascot because it is offensive to Native Americans, opting instead to run it as "R——-", and twice principal Rob McGee threatened to discipline the paper and any editors who refused to print the word. McGee also reportedly confiscated copies of the paper during a meeting with McGoldrick in June, deducted $1,200 from the paper's account, and attempted to block access to the paper's social media accounts.
The case got so heated that it has attracted the attention of press freedom advocates at the Student Press Law Center, who stepped in last fall to help defend the editors in case school officials followed through with their threats. Any disciplinary action taken by the public school could leave the district open to legal action for violating students' free speech, an attorney at the SPLC told Poynter in July.
That was not enough to stop administrators from issuing suspensions this week.
Numerous national news outlets have publicly stated that they would no longer print the offensive term when covering Washington, D.C.'s football team, the most prominent organization that still uses the mascot. And Phil Simms, who will be covering Washington's nationally-televised Thursday Night Football game last week as the lead football analyst for CBS Sports, has stated that he will not use the word during the broadcast.

This is a good one. Pay special attention to the people who have zero clue about one knee equaling two feet.
There was one dude in the game thread who kept asking why the Eagles got a free challenge on the supposed INT where Foles got killed...people tried to explain to him that all TOs are reviewed now and he kept asking.
LOLSkins fans are the dregs of the NFL. I love watching them bitch and moan. I also love how they are convinced the NFL and the refs have a huge conspiracy against them because of their racist name.

When they say that to me, I just agree with them. Yes, everyone is against your team because it's a racist disgrace. The team you root for is racist and disgusting and an embarrassment for the league, so all right-thinking people oppose them.
worthless garbage racist fans
their team name is a racial slur and they do not give an ounce of a shtein

I haven't read ES in a couple years. I caved and clicked. The number of people who didn't know 1 knee = 2 feet is just amazing, but the fact that they still didn't believe it after several rules links were posted is exactly what I expected from those idiots. Glad to know they haven't changed. I'll check back in on them sometime in 2018.

and in the same quote i expressed admiration for another black man. i don't have a racist bone in my body, you jackass. it's true that i hate nearly every human on the planet (including you, incidentally) but skin color isn't a reason why.
as for the comment about posting links with the reddskins being converted to tater skins, i think it's a legitimate one because people keep doing it. it's annoying. if you're going to insist on doing it, just place a farging space between the red and skins. that way when we click the link, we just have to delete a space to make the link work. not unreasonable.

"boss hog" checks in on his visit to "the stink"
QuoteJust got back from the Linc, we had seats in section 210 above the south endzone.
Quick observations:
-Maclin didn't catch that ball in the fourth quarter. He had one foot in and his knee and elbow went out of bounds. Even the fecal fans were surprised the referees didn't overturn it.
EDIT: After reading the referee thread, it turns out the refs got this one right. I guess me and the other guys in my section don't know as much about football as we thought.
QuoteSome (not all) of the Fecals fans are classless iceholes. I got called a ****, mother ****er, icehole, gay slurs, racist, jerk, etc. About 6-7 skinny white boys picked on me after the game by calling me a racist because I support the taterskins. Funny thing is that the elf looking Fecal fan was wearing a Riley Cooper jersey. Anyways, I walked up to them and said "Good game fellas, congratulations." The tall one said, "Change your name icehole! You're a racist!" I then asked the tough guys for the location of the Eagles trophy case...silence. Then some fat **** with one tooth said he would shove a trophy up my rectum to which I replied, "well it surely won't be an eagles trophy."
The nasty woman next to me was hammered, I thought she was going to undress and give me a lap dance. Later she started fighting with another Eagles fan about something stupid. We had no ushers or security, so we let them sort it out on their own.
Eagles fans have a mob mentality, they only attack in groups and rarely one on one. My favorite was the group of rich boys in the Mercedes driving by me and calling me a gay slur as I walked towards the SEPTA. Wow, we gotta bunch a bad asses right there, can't say it to my face but will yell out obscenities then hit the gas.
While on the SEPTA I did meet one really awesome Eagles fan. He apologized for the boorish behavior and said he's sometimes embarrassed to be a fan of the team. We talked all the way to the convention center stop, he had a lot of nice things to say about the taterskins.
I thought the taterskins played a good game today. They out gained the Eagles by 180 yards and Kirk made some great plays. The special teams fail (10 point swing) was what did it in for us. We should have walked all over those bammas.
ha, 210 is Igy's section
I suspect all of that is made up. These stories are always the same thing, "One nice eagle fan takes them under their wing, apologizes how bad everyone is, and tells them they're a secret fan of said team"
I get it, "Fecal fans"...Fecal kind of sounds like Eagles in a way. Very clever.

QuoteI still have a bag of candles from the vigil. That was the hardest event I have ever been asked to handle. A few of us still say that picking up all of the mementos left at the tree at taterskins Park for ST's family was even harder than the vigil. Seeing drawings and notes from kids- gut wrenching.
Also the main thing that I can't seem to forget no matter how hard I try from that day is when Chief called and he was just balling on the phone. I almost threw my hands up and said I can't do this. I called my mom and she set me straight and she was calling counselors and non denominational pastors in VA from SC to help get us people who could handle this situation and give kids, Chief etc the words they needed to hear when I couldn't even process my own thoughts and feelings.
now that is one upset person
QuoteTonight we will get another "test" of the refs. Because of our team name taterskinS, I am guessing there will be at least 2 obvious calls that are either called incorrectly, or not called, depending on how it will hurt the taterskinS.
We have seen this in both of our loses and (in my opinion) in at the end of the eagles/colts game (those two calls really benefited the eagles, so they hurt/ were against the taterskinS.) That makes 3 weeks with at least 1 very obvious call that was made that directly hurt the taterskinS chances of winning. So, in light of that and tonight's game all I have to say is:
taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS taterskinS
the nfl comissioner is best friends with dan snyder and a wash season ticket holder but the league is out to get them

something feels so perfect about the way the Skins week has gone. Cousins gave those fools so much hope, and BAM, back to reality.
Yep - exactly.
They were hyped up after the Eagles game (ignoring the fact he wasn't very good in the second half) and debating RGIII vs Capt Kirk. Now Cousins goes full blown Akili Smith on their asses and they want to dump his corpse in a shallow grave.
I mean - even NFL Network was reporting on anonymous sources saying how Cousins really was the guy that Gruden wanted and that Griffin would be OK as a back-up (which is laughable - nice blockbuster trade for a back up!)

Blade and I ran down the sidelines shadowing Sean as he made his famous leap. And there were tears in our eyes, knowing that Gibbs had gotten us back to the playoffs for the first time in forever. Parts of our fanbase just sicken me. RIP Sean. I hope this team can one day measure up to the talent you possessed and the passion for the game you had.
sean taylor was a fag
QuoteI met my wife after Sean was taken, and I was eagerly awaiting her watching this so that she could get a glimpse of what I was blessed to watch. First thing she says? "Wait, he wasn't on the Giants, why is that there?" Nothing about the Moorman play it began with, nothing about Sean at all. Just ****ty, ****ty production.
QuoteI can remember a brief interaction I had with Sean in the locker room following the Titans preseason game. He was talking to Pearson Prielou (sp?) and he saw me standing there and immediately looked away making it clear he didn't want to be bothered. I'm sure he didn't know me from anyone in the media and his refusal to talk to the media at that point in his career was well established. I asked Pearson a few questions and on my way out of the locker room I literally bumped into Sean... It was a classic three stooges moment as we both tried to exit the door at the same time.
I was nervous being in the locker room to begin with and I immediately recoiled and said sorry, and for him to go ahead. He stood there and looked at me and backed up as well and said "after you". I said "no, please, go ahead". He simply looked at me, shook his head and smiled. I knew then that he was prepared to stand there for as long as it took, by God I was going through that door first.

It's just really, REALLY nice to see that even in the age of Twitter (hell, most of Sean's games weren't even in HD) and where "storylines" are sought after rather than being just a mere backdrop, Sean can still have an impact.
Also to many of you on the board when this happened, I am so, so grateful to having been able to grieve with you guys.

It's all fake. Every single person who says they cry and mourn and struggle to get through the day because Sean Taylor died is a farging liar. They are saying whatever they think will show just how great of a fan they are. Every team has their fair share if idiot fans like that, but ES has somehow managed to make itself the douchebag headquarters of Washington fans.
It's still real to me, dammit!
All of this ES circlejerk brings to mind a famous Nietzsche quote:
"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you."
Dio's dropping knowledge, yo.
I gazed into the abyss once. Couldn't stop crying way harder than everyone else here.
I loved that abyss so much. My girl even knitted it a sweater.

Giants
the first two sometimes swap positions, but the only thing I can't stand about the Giants is their tendency to beat the Eagles. Otherwise, great organization, pretty damn good knowledable fans, and the best city in the U.S., if not the world.
The other two have sometimes crushed my football hopes, but it's for the rest of it..the awful awful fans, the evil (Snyder) and classless (Jones) ownership, and the terrible cities that I have no interest in ever going to again if I can avoid it...

I'm sure there's a few mentally unstable people who did cry and all that other crap, but no reasonably sane and rational person catches that many feelings over a player....or even the team, for that matter.
I remember when JB died. People I knew at the time were like "That really sucks" or "what a shame." But mostly everyone was like "Farg...there goes the super bowl." But I imagine that if the Internet existed at the time, there would have been a similar display of faux emotion in an attempt to prove they really are the teams #1 fan.
When Jerome Brown died, I couldn't cruise around in my Power Wheels and drink without crying and hitting a tree.

Pretty sure in was unreadable before that, bro.
There were iceholes before, but there was actually legit football talk. That doesn't exist anymore and hasn't since the team took over and membership ballooned.
QuoteSean was my brothers favorite football player. He would get so hype for games and go nuts when Sean lit someone up. He was his role-model and he so much stuffed signed by him (signed #21 jersey, signed #36 jersey, and two separate signed sheets of paper). My brother and i used to watch games every Sunday and be so excited for the defense to take the field. Because we knew special things were coming.
Sean died on my brother's birthday. My brother was turning 21. Now at 27, my brother doesnt love football like he used to. He doesnt love the Skins like he used to. He's expressed how it's just not the same and he doesnt find joy in it anymore after Sean passed. And honestly, ive seen a change in him. He's a little harder, little more emotionless. I know a lot of people say "get over it, you didnt know him" or "grown ups (men) shouldnt feel that way about another grown up (man)", etc. But when you're young (or even older) and someone brings you so much joy, takes you away from all the drama and bull**** of life, has you looking forward to 4 hours once a week to have fun, and they're taken away so violently, so young? It affects you. At least for him it did.

Cool write up on some behind the scenes stuff and unaired footage from The Daily Show's piece on the racists last week.
QuoteWhen Sean passed I was working for a small company. I was comfortable and never in danger of losing my job. But when he pased it made me completely reevaluate where I was in life. How life is precious and not a minute of it should be wasted. I made the decision then to leave my job open my own company and six years later haven't looked back. A man who I never met changed the course of my life and I'll be forever greatful. I think about him often, he is definitely missed.
QuoteIt really does seem that that a prerequisite for playing for the taterskins is you have to understand Sean Taylor's legacy and what he means to this franchise.
QuoteWatched it with my sons, that was tough. I remember the St. Louis fans here making fun of me for acting so depressed, "it's not like you lost a family member man". Yeah it was like that
QuoteI've never really thought of myself as a religious person, but after watching the documentary and hearing Coach Gibbs talk about how God made certain people to be football players made me wonder into the unknown.
In theory, I assumed God was choosing his football squad. 3.5 years of football was all he needed to see of Sean Taylor.
He was probably like, "Yeah. That's my safety right there."
QuoteI aren't gonna' lie, the last 10 minutes of that (I've just got around to watching it) I was in floods of tears. The tribute the Bills game just set me really off at the memory.
Funny how someone you've never ever met can touch your life to such an extent. Like an extension of your own family.

QuoteHonestly, me too. I just get bummed out. After I watched it, I had trouble sleeping that night b/c I kept having ST related dreams and waking up. Thought about him almost non-stop since watching it. I don't know why I am so affected by this. I did not know the guy on a personal level, and I know a lot of tragic things have happened to a lot of other people, and that a lot of other celebrities have come and gone, but none bother me the same way. I'm still so heartbroken by this, almost 7 years later. I can only imagine how painful it is for his family and friends. You can see it all over their face. Just pure hurt. Gah! QuoteFCC considers banning Washington name from broadcast TV
Posted by Mike Florio on September 30, 2014, 9:01 PM EDT
With the blackout rule now scuttled, the FCC can turn its attention to another NFL-related item of business: Preventing broadcast networks from using the name of the Washington NFL franchise.
On Tuesday, FCC chairman Tom Wheeler said that the league will be considering a petition filed earlier this month alleging that the term is indecent.
"We will be dealing with that issue on the merits, and we will be responding accordingly," Wheeler said, via the National Journal.
George Washington University law professor John Banzhaf argued in the petition that the term constitutes a "racist, racially derogatory word." A decision that the term is indecent would block over-the-air networks (CBS, FOX, CBS, and ABC) from using the term. The word could still be used in cable broadcasts.
But it wouldn't matter. A ruling from the FCC that the term is indecent would force the NFL to change the name.
To be clear, acknowledgment that the issue will be addressed doesn't mean that the FCC will decide to characterize the term as indecent. But it may, and that would be far more significant than today's ruling that the little-used blackout rule no longer can be enforced by the NFL against the networks.
QuoteYep, on Facebook every year I note his birthday and his passing. One of my friends, and I can understand her point, asked, "Did you know him?"
My response, "Does it matter?"
They just don't get it.
QuoteI watched it and I started balling
QuoteYeah, I thought I was prepared; I wasn't. Seeing Tana like that was like seeing your own dad cry.

he played there for 3.5 years
thats it
jesus
He wasn't that good, either
he was damn good.....but they still were 26-30 while he was there and he got kicked out of half the playoff games he ever played in
He could certainly lay the wood but he was a liability against the pass.
they keep referencing that eagles game...i remember that
it was week 17 of the awful 05 season that donovan ruined by being a farging bitch. the qbs in that game were mike mcmahon and koy detmer. what a great win for the washington nfl team.

lol these iceholes were celebrating the Baker hit on Foles and now they want the Giants safeties suspended for knocking their TE out?
Please.
QuoteMore proof that Mara has undue influence on the the NFL (as if the cap penalty wasn't enough). Merriweather was suspended two regular season games for a blow with the shoulder. The giant's safeties led with the head on Niles Paul and knocked him unconscious. The Washington media and fanbase should be taking the NFL to task for this gross double standard
it was a disgrace that that hit drew a penalty much less wanting a suspension for it
Agreed.
But Mara hates them! And it's because of the name! Wahhhh
if mara wanted the name changed it probably would have already happened....hes almost the defacto commish of the league
Not even to mention that their DBs (Amerson was one) went head hunting on both McCoy and Sproles, trying to concuss them and almost succeeding with McCoy.

nfl obviously wants the seahawks to win....that big seattle market is the only reason they can get a decent rating
Hey man, that 12th man marketing push is raking in the big bucks now.
the refs were looking out for the seahawks well being so much so that they called 13 penalties on them...including three on touchdown scoring plays

If you're going to take that context, you can take every word and look at it and decide what your own meaning is going to be.''
He added that the discussion is over the top.
"I think it's been blown way out of proportion,'' Schroeder said. "I think that the Washington taterskins have represented the taterskins name very well through the years and bringing glory to it. If you look around the country, if you want to change the taterskins, you've got to change a lot of names. I'm wondering why everybody is going after the taterskins and not everybody else.''

Jerry, he's fun. I'd hate him if I were a Cowboys fun but really, how can you hate this guy? He's comical. God bless him.

only the homerist of eagles fans could hate jerrah...hes a clown but seems like the coolest dude in the world to hang out with. plus hes unbelievably loyal and generous to those around him (and at the same time a greedy republican).

Yeah, I'm not sure where all this Jerrah love is coming from. Just about everything about the guy is awful.
Add up all the awful shtein Jerrah's done and it doesn't compare to even half of the following (which is dated and sorely needs additions, such as Snyder's current, bullying effort to retaliate against the Native Americans who lodged a complaint about the trademark being racist by suing them.

Through ten weeks, the word "taterskins" has been spoken on NFL broadcasts 605 times. That's down 42% from last year.
Who the farg counts that?
Maybe sideline reporters?
Same people who count words in State of the Union addresses, etc.
QuoteFormer Navy SEAL Rob O'Neill, the man who says his bullet killed Osama Bin Laden, spoke to the Washington taterskins during a team meeting Saturday night, according to player postings on social media.
It's not often that teams bring in guest speakers for such occasions, but O'Neill -- who made it known in the past that he was a taterskins fan -- has a unique tale, one that involves teamwork, courage and precision in the killing of Bin Laden.
Receiver Pierre Garcon posted a photo on Instagram of him with O'Neill.

He knowingly sold hundreds of SB tickets for non-existent seats to fans, some of whom cashed in their meager life savings for the dream of seeing their team win a SB. His greed and insatiable ego feeding (wanting to set the record for TEXAS SIZED BIGGEST EVERZ SB crowd) is despicable.
Although Jones knew days ahead of time those seats wouldn't be available (and probably way before that, that the extra seats were against code) he said absolutely nothing and the fans who flew or drove in were pulled out of line and tossed in a basement room to watch on tv. Can you imagine what you would feel like if you went to see the Eagles play? And at first he and the NFL had the balls to say sorry, we'll get you free tix for next year instead, with a little pat on the head. He also gave folding chairs with obstructed views to his own season ticket holding fans that won the opportunity to buy (at full cost) a ticket - never telling them it wouldn't be their seat, or even anything sub-optimal. And of course all of this is not even to mention he can't get his attention whore facelifted ass out of the GM picture. He'd rather screw his family, fans and franchise than give up the position. He is a POS and a gift to the NFC east.
Sure sure, but Snyder is worse. Scamming idiot football fans << profiteering off 9/11. (http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014/06/18/5-more-reasons-to-hate-daniel-snyder/)
QuoteAside from the fact that he imposed a $4 "security surcharge" on every ticket right after the attacks, the team commemorated the fifth anniversary of 9/11 in 2006 by selling cute little hats embroidered with the team's "R" logo (not the scummy part) and a patch in the shape of the Pentagon with the colors of the American flag (also not scummy). Snyder charged $23.99 for the hats – more expensive than any other hat on the team's website at the time (kinda scummy) – with no indication that the profits were to go anywhere but into Snyder's bank account (that's the super-duper-scumbag move). Washington was the only team to sell 9/11 commemorative merchandise in 2006 for profit or otherwise.

QuoteYet right now, the taterskins are hitting the reset button, though it might not last long, a source cautioned as Washington has high hopes for the coming offseason.
Pretty sure this has been their mantra for close to 20 years now.
QuoteWashington received: QB Robert Griffin III
St. Louis received: DT Michael Brockers, CB Janoris Jenkins, RB Isaiah Pead, G Rokevious Watkins, LB Alec Ogletree, WR Stedman Bailey, RB Zac Stacy, OT Greg Robinson
As we sit here today, that means the taterskins got a starting quarterback. The Rams, meanwhile, got starters at defensive tackle, cornerback, linebacker, running back and offensive line with a receiver who could likely grab that role this year.
http://grantland.com/the-triangle/rg3-robert-griffin-10-possible-destinations/
Quote3. Philadelphia Eagles: Oh boy. This is the nuclear option for everyone involved, and yet for everybody involved, it makes a lot of sense. Chip Kelly hasn't had a mobile quarterback capable of scaring opposing teams with the zone-read since Michael Vick hit the bench last season, and even with his limitations after knee surgery, Griffin would qualify. The offense that Kelly runs in Philadelphia shares some similarities to what Griffin ran in college, given their shared usage of the read-option and emphasis on both spreading the field and using tempo as an offensive asset. And Kelly, who recruited Griffin out of high school, has no qualms about acquiring a damaged quarterback if he thinks he can mold him into a worthwhile starter. Is Griffin really a worse case than Mark Sanchez?
The fly in the ointment is Washington, which might hesitate to deal its former franchise quarterback inside the division out of a fear he'll come back to beat D.C. twice a year. That being said, if Washington is already so sure that Griffin's not worth holding on to, why would it be concerned about dealing Griffin to a rival? If anything, if it's that sure he's going to fail wherever he goes, why wouldn't it be aggressive about dealing him to Philadelphia in the hopes he'll blow up their locker room? This would be the most fun destination for Griffin.
I hate his personality, mechanics, and he's injury prone. That being said on a one year prove it contract why not.
And how awesome would this be:
Quote
1. St. Louis Rams: And yet, the best fit might very well be the team that traded away the chance to acquire Griffin in the first place. The Rams have recouped a bounty for their decision to trade away the second overall pick three years ago, but the one thing they failed to come away with as part of that deal is a viable starting quarterback. Sam Bradford's injuries should force him out of town this offseason, and while the Rams appeared to have stumbled onto a starter with Austin Davis, the franchise soured on him quickly enough to run back to veteran retread Shaun Hill two weeks ago.
The Rams also are good enough and have an easy enough schedule over the next five weeks (with games against Oakland, Washington, and the Giants) to likely finish somewhere in the lower half of the top 10, a spot that could preclude them from getting one of the draft's top-rated passers. Given that they've had so many draft picks over the past three seasons by virtue of the Griffin trade and the subsequent deals the Rams made with those picks, they are perhaps best positioned to send a mid-round selection to Washington for Griffin, even after dealing a fourth- and sixth-rounder to the Buccaneers in October for Mark Barron.
At some point, it's worth it for the Rams to go after a high-risk option. Bradford was one of the lowest-reward options in football when he was in the lineup. The Rams have built a deep roster with talent up and down the lineup, but they've never taken a risk on a player like Griffin, who might dramatically improve their fortunes. I wouldn't make the move if they intend to hold on to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, but if the Rams found a more imaginative replacement and moved on from Bradford, Griffin would be a logical fit.
In all, I strongly doubt that Griffin will remain on the Washington roster in 2015. There's just not enough to be gained by having him around, especially with all the public posturing from Gruden suggesting that he wants to move on and go after the quarterback of his choosing. If Washington fires Gruden and hires somebody like Briles or Harbaugh, it would make sense for Griffin to stay. Otherwise, a trade makes the most sense, and these are the 10 teams that most obviously fit a Griffin deal.

Report: Jay Gruden is done with Robert Griffin III

If you wondered just how bad the relationship between taterskins coach Jay Gruden and now-backup quarterback Robert Griffin III is, the Washington Post's Jason Reid reveals that it's basically broken. And probably unfixable.
In his story, Reid writes that Gruden is done with Griffin and wants him off the team. It's unclear if owner Daniel Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen agree with Gruden and will back him, but it also seems clear that Griffin's tenure with the team is shaky at best.
Writes Reid:
Through three preseason games and five starts in the regular season, Gruden has seen enough to realize that Griffin is at best a long-term project as a pocket passer. Griffin was too deliberate reading defenses, displayed poor footwork and an alarming lack of pocket presence for a signal-caller in his third NFL season.
Also, Gruden's assessment goes deeper than Griffin's play. He has major concerns about Griffin's decision making off the field, which has come to light through conversations with team officials at taterskins Park.
To Gruden, Griffin seemed more concerned about enhancing his brand than about honing his pocket skills. Often, Gruden rolled his eyes after being informed about the life lessons the 24-year-old offered on social media. Gruden became frustrated that Griffin, even after Gruden benched him, failed to acknowledge his role in his failure.
While former coach Mike Shanahan's future was leveraged to Griffin's success, that doesn't seem to be the case with Gruden. And if Snyder would keep Griffin on the team and discard Gruden in the process, that's probably something Gruden would want to know immediately. Which is probably why this feels like a necessary power move for the first-year coach.
"Considering Gruden's firm stance, though, trading Griffin is the logical option," Reid writes. "And if Snyder and Allen drag their feet or tell Gruden he must give Griffin one more chance, then Gruden may have to come up with an exit strategy even faster than Mike Shanahan did."
So, it seems that the taterskins options are one of the following:
1) Get rid of Griffin and almost certainly lose in the process, because there's little chance they could recoup enough for the loss of Griffin to make the team's original pursuit of him (trading much of its future in order to draft him No. 2 overall) worth it.
2) Keep Griffin and possibly get rid of Gruden. That's not a palatable option, because it again would set the taterskins back as they try to turn around the franchise. For one, it's unlikely a high-profile coach would want to wade into the Washington mess. And for two, the divisive Griffin still would be on the team.
Neither way is a winning strategy, but to me, No. 1 seems like the best option. For the team and perhaps even for Griffin, who should get the opportunity to resurrect his career elsewhere.
He'd be a perfect fit in Denver. Seriously... learn from Peyton Manning for a year or two, get healthy, then take the reigns after Manning leaves.
He's a perfect fit for Navy.
hes a bigger bitch than the king of bitches, donovan the bedwetter mcnabb

Pretty sure he doesn't have a choice if he gets traded. If he gets cut who knows where he'll end up because his reputation is so tarnished at this point, I doubt anyone will just hand him a starter's job. The best he can hope for is to get traded to a contender looking for insurance with a strong front office and a quarterback guru to help him actually learn how to be a pro QB.
hes not getting traded
wash pro team doesnt want him and will cut him...why are you giving up a 3rd or something for him when you can sign him for a few nickles and keep the pick
No one will pick up his contract. He'll be cut.
He'll be on the last year of his rookie deal in 2015.
And Schefter tweeted he believes Griffin will be the starter again this yr
Gotta be for a trade showcase
more likely lil danni wants him back in....he was saying this week how befuddled he is over his ineptitude...and id want to see him in every possible play there is before I gave up on him after giving up all the picks....I honestly don't understand how he doesn't play every single play hes healthy enough to do so this year
same goes for geno
I don't know if this situation is so much all RGIII as it was the taterskins screwing him up. I know he's a me first guy and all that, but the taterskins pretty much ruined him regardless. Shanahan left him in too long when he first got hurt. It was said he listened to the player instead of going with what he knew should of been done and taken him out. Then, after his surgery they rushed him back, starting him after he hadn't played in the preseason. That pretty much did him in.
No one knows for shore but I think he might have been a decent qb on another team that would have handled him in the right way.

London Fletcher spent all day yesterday blasting Jim Haslett - even to Haslett's kid. Quite surprising to come from Fletcher.
QuoteLongtime taterskins defensive stalwart and team captain London Fletcher unloaded on defensive coordinator Jim Haslett Sunday morning, calling him a clueless, back-stabbing coach who does not know what he's doing.
"Why does Jim Haslett still have his job as a defensive coordinator after five years now of just ineptitude at the defensive coordinator position?" Fletcher asked on CBS Sports Network's That Other Pregame Show. "He's clueless as a defensive coordinator. He lacks attention to detail. He lacks feel on how to call a game. Some of the calls he used to call when I was playing were head-scratching. They were so bad, I used to change them, like, 'We're not running that.' And we'd get off the field and he would ask, 'Why did you change the call.' (I would say), 'Because that's just a dumb call. That's why I changed it.'
"For years he has always made excuses. One minute it was 'We're changing from the 3-4 and we don't have the right personnel.' Next minute it is salary cap. Next minute it is Mike Shanahan. Next minute it is injuries. Mike Shanahan recognized early that this guy does not know what he is doing. And he tried to help him out....And what does Jim Haslett do? He threw [Shanahan] under the bus just like he throws everybody under the bus, players and coaches included.
Pretty much a microcosm of Snyder's idiocy. Evan casual fans knew Haslett was a fraud and a blowhard for a number of years now.

Win/loss record and playoff appearances over the last 15 years. Sure the Eagles haven't won the big game but at least they've had some good teams fans could get behind. Ask yourself this question, would you have rather been a Skins fan for the past 15 years or an Eagles fan. Any Skins fan would trade the last 15 seasons for the Eagles season. They've had shtein to root for. The free agent signings, trades, coaching carousel etc. have been abysmal.
They would never trade the last 15 years, because who would be in heaven to receive their prayers if not for Sean Taylor?

Lies...if they had beaten say the Bengals or Chargers in those superbowls you would have said they barely count
wash beat denver and buffalo two legit teams
but honestly buddy could have beaten penn state and it would have been the greatest sb win ever.....the man was a god on earth
No he wasn't. I love Buddy and watching Seattle taunt the Eagles and talk shtein while doing what they want only made me wish he won one because then he would have reached god status.
He was a hideous head coach. He's was a brilliant self-promoter and he was also a terrific defensive mind.
The fact that anyone in Philly still longs for him and his zero playoff wins as Eagles head coach is the ultimate indictment on just how woeful this team's recorded history has been for 50+ years.
At this point, I pray we travel to Seattle in the playoffs. I want to see what they do to Seattle after the smack they talked. Just want to see if these guys have any sack.
If those Romes played 20 years ago and pulled that shtein against the Eagles they would have limped off the field at best or been rolled out on stretchers.
farg that high school flagy ass cheerleader Pete Carroll and his Hoyda ass team.

Really, how much worse could things get for this franchise? These are good days.
I see you're not familiar with the philosophy of "if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes."

love the homophobia, but seattle is basically doing the same kind of thing the buddy defenses did. except for one thing -- WINNING
any fan whining about sherman or the seattle d is just the worst. i would kill for a team like that...they were awesome. stop being a jealous 12 year old. the hottest middle school girl isnt blowing you, shes blowing the other guy. give it up to him.

I'm saying it flat out. They're Hoydas and someone should punch them in the face. The Eagles don't have those kind of players to get shtein real. They used to but they don't anymore.

gang green defense talked more shtein than any unit ever....were they Hoydas?
dallas 90's dynasty same way....i guess they were bitchmade too
you sure the reason you think seattle is a bunch of Hoydas isnt because they just ate your favorite teams young??
ding ding ding ding
romey obviously didnt want the nfccg last year. bodies were dropping. seattle, you know, won. but theyre Hoydas!
I'm saying the Ryan era Eagles would kick the shtein out of them.
Are you idiots actually disagreeing with that or just arguing with me to make your sandy vaginas moist?
buddys defenses i would give a slight advantage to...seahawks offense gets a solid advantage
on a neutral site id probably have sea -3
but either way its really silly to call the seahawks Hoydas
Seattle's D is like the bad boys, you knew they were good, they were dirty, got away with stuff, and talked a lot of shtein...people hated them at the time, but looking back I wish they played in Philly. It's the reason the Broad Street Bullies are still so popular.
I was all set to hate Seattle until I saw Sherman walk that guy off the field after he got flagged on a punt. After Peters got a flag for whining to a ref about how awful the refs were, now I just wish the Eagles had anyone that smart playing for them.
Their 12th man merchandising push is still obnoxious garbage, though.

you do realize buddy's eagles won 0 playoff games and seattle has 4 playoff wins + a super bowl?
seattles defense is also doing their thing in an era where video game numbers are being put up in the league....in todays game you need a great secondary which is exactly what seattle has put together....where as on the gang green defenses it was the front seven...that back four may not translate so well to the modern game....especially the plodding hit first cover later safeties
i click on the foreskin thread and find a zesty debate about the current seahawks vs the 90's eagles.

Read Simmons' column on Grantland...
QuoteEspecially if the reader is standing a little too close to the flame, if you get my drift. Here's Simon in Alexandria, VA ...
"Is the Washington NFL team the worst, most dysfunctional franchise in professional sports? Washington is now a perennial loser. The team's name is considered by many to be racist. They have a meddling, litigious, unlikable owner, two decades of dysfunction, a clueless PR team and the worst home stadium experience. Even promising moments (RG3 2012) backfire spectacularly (RG3 2014). And there's no hope because Dan Snyder is only 50 and will never sell. If the NFL wasn't already a morally dubious venture, the embarrassment of following the Washington team has pushed me over the edge. I'm officially an NFL widower. And I feel so much better; it's amazing how many errands and how much yard work you can do with a full Sunday. The Washington NFL Franchise is the suckiest franchise in professional sports. Thank God I can still get by watching crushing playoff collapses by the Nats and Caps!"
That one nailed a variety of checkmarks: mild hyperbole (words like "worst" and "suckiest"), some slight homerism (by rule, shouldn't the Raiders be mentioned in any "worst/most dysfunctional" discussion?), the mini laundry list of tragedies (always a staple), the surprising reveal in the middle (he buried the lede — he actually made himself an NFL widower!), the obligatory poison arrow at someone (calling the NFL "morally dubious," which I thoroughly enjoyed) and a terrific sarcastic closer that would have made Joe House proud.
The most poignant line in that email: "There's no hope because Dan Snyder is only 50 and will never sell." Hold that thought.
Pimp is frustrated and will go off soon

http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/gruden-praises-jeremy-maclin-lukewarm-on-desean-jackson
QuoteOn Jackson: "We haven't seen the DeSean we need to see."
On Maclin: "Type of guy you want."
Taken seperately, maybe not a huge deal. Taken together, it sure seemed like Gruden was making a statement about the two former teammates.
The taterskins are 3-11 in Gruden's first year as head coach, and they play out the string with home games Saturday afternoon against the Eagles and eight days later against the Cowboys.
Jackson, released by the Eagles following last year, has 50 catches for 957 yards and five touchdowns in his first year with the taterskins. Maclin has 78 receptions for 1,207 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first year playing without Jackson.
Maclin is just as good as Jackson, period. Jackson had the deadly speed to take the top off of defenses which is big, but Maclin partly makes up for that with his decent route running on the mid range routes over the middle. And Maclin isn't that slow, either. Probably a bit slower after the knee injury, unfortunately, but still fast.
What the team needs is someone competent next to him.
And, yes, what really would have been best would have been having Jackson AND Maclin. Chip and Howie and the organization should not have chased him out of town. This offense would be deadly with those two at WR, unfortunately now it's just okay, especially with a Shady that has not been as explosive as he was last year.
QuoteGruden says it's important to get a lead so griffin doesn't have to do a lot of dropback passing and defense reading.
From the Eagles perspective, the main point of Jackson vs Maclin isn't who is faster or gets more TDs. Its that both are productive but one is a good team guy and the other doesn't listen to coaches and creates bad team chemistry.
ironically the horrible team guy got them to the playoffs last year and the saint most likely isnt this year,....sports is about talent at the end of the day and you cant get rid of a talent like pimp and not replace it and expect to be better
also its not about numbers its about the spacing on the field and making other people around you better....no more obvious example of that than kkk's celek ertz foles numbers last year versus this year
Lol at "got them in the playoffs"...meanwhile the Eagles are on pace for more wins...nfc is a lot harder this season...If desean is an eagle this season and maclins with another team were in the same spot. By your theory Pierre Garçon should have been all world this season
eagles might be in the same situation but their offense would be much better...avg yards per play has taken a hit
i also understand the argument that they may replace him this offseason....its a fair point to not expect them to have gotten a game changer right away that would mitigate his loss
you just gotta trust that the offense is completely different more easily defensible and not as good without him on the field...literally every player on that side of the ball took a step back this year without pimp except macklin...but numbers have to go somewhere....basically what happened is that the te's the rb the other wr all took steps back while a lot of their numbers went to mack because hes the best wr on a bad wr roster
its hard to explain the game of football to people who hate a player off the field because hes loud and raps...the heart vs. the head is a never ending argument so we will just have to agree to disagree here
You got me dude...I hate his off the field stuff and therefore don't understsnd thd game of football. In reality I know your argument that his talent and big play ability makes defenses account for him every play...you're right it's not something that can be measured with statistics...you're wrong in that you're blaming the offense taking a step back due solely to him playing with the skins. If he was that much of a talent why is the skins offense do much worse this season?
I think he just called you a racist who hates the coloreds. So congrats on that, I guess.
for the 10000th time the desean move was made because he was a pain in the ass and didnt buy into chip's goodie too shoes hipster white dude system
if the eagles actually thought they could win a super bowl this year, they probably would've dealt with it. but they knew they weren't. so they did it now, instead of next year when they were going to anyway.
so to recap
1. everyone knows the eagles would be better with desean
2. it doesnt matter
He stomped his feet during his best pro season and now he's actively sabotaging his current team.
He's a cancer and regardless if they would have had a deep threat, he would not have made this team better, because his QB would have been Mark Sanchez.

I don't think I will, actually.

I may have shed a tear...
Maclin would have ran straight in instead of showboating on the goal line
To be fair, Jackson did say after that game he was trying to take time off the clock.
Didn't watch it.

what a shame the eagles have nobody worth a shtein to return kicks now. it may, just may have helped them win a game or two.

NY Newsday:
Quote"I can be the face of any franchise,'' Vick said. "Hopefully, there will be an opportunity for me in 2015. And that's what I'm looking forward to.''
While he's open to returning to New York next season, there's another NFL city also on his radar: Washington.
"That's home,'' the Virginia native said, beaming like a child. "That's home for me. Don't get me excited. Don't get me excited.''
The prospect of being able to reunite with Skins receiver DeSean Jackson also excites Vick. After he signed with the Jets in March, Vick said the pair talked about Jackson signing there as well.
"Being honest, yeah, we talked about it once I signed,'' Vick said of getting his former Eagles teammate to the Jets. "And of course, DeSean is my little brother. I'm not saying he wanted to follow me, but he also knows what type of player I am and I know how to get him the ball.
"I know his speed, I know his acceleration path, I know when he's coming out of his breaks. There's nobody that knows DeSean Jackson better than me. I think he knows that, and we were just trying to position ourselves to be together again, but it didn't work out.''
Given the quarterback drama playing out in Washington, there's a chance the Skins may choose to part ways with Robert Griffin III during the offseason.
"I'm open to playing for anybody that wants to win,'' Vick said. "But obviously, going back home, I mean, that'll be a dream come true,'' he said, smiling again. "But I would hate to get my hopes up for something that wouldn't happen. So I can't even think about it right now.''
Ha, can you imagine Vick and RG on the same team competing for the spot? The degree of delusion and self importance would be epic, especially with DeSean thrown in. Unfortunately Gruden and Bruce Allen have a lot more sense than that.
get em pimp....
QuoteWashington taterskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson danced through the home team's locker room just after his press conference serenading his old team to his new team in sing-song style.
"They're going home, tell them good night,'' Jackson began. "Tu-tu-lou, bye bye, birds are chirping.''

in the 2010 draft the Eagles had the 24th pick in the draft. Dez went 24th that year. Somehow the Eagles wound up with Brandon a Graham and two less 3rds
Howie
Well now they've got a chance to Get Dez and have Graham at the same time. Everyone wins! Except Sanchez, who might never win a game again.

A page that doesn't exist? Cool.
Exists for me
Go to Mike Wise's twitter page
It's a pic of an audult Washington fan giving the finger to native Americans protesting the team name, namely a six year old child and her mother
Alleged child and mother not shown. It's a meathead giving the finger. After that, who knows.
Hmmm so you think the reporter is lying?
Not saying that. Just saying...all I see is a meathead in Washington colors flipping the bird. That's all the photo depicts. Got any other angles?
Nope just Wise saying he witnessed it
im not saying wise is lying but his number one cause celeb is the wash nickname
Whether it's true or not (and I actually do think it matters, Wise is really irresponsible if the picture isn't depicting what he implies it does) there's no question that represents some of the feeling of some members of the Washington fanbase, especially with some beers in them on game day. They are clinging to their epithet, it's a source of pride for them and they don't care who it upsets. That's not the whole fanbase, but it's some people.
I don't think it's right to tar and feather all of their fans with that shtein, being a member of another fanbase who gets hit with ridiculous shtein based on the actions of a few morons. But their team name is what it is, and it leads to ugly shtein.
I could maybe see the partial picture if wise was a supporter of the name....but when you are obsessed with it (and I fully support him in his campaign to get rid of it) and make it such a huge issue for you then you probably should have full proof of what you are claiming in that photo....
ftr I believe him
Yeah I won't paint them all as people like dude in the pic
