Dorenbos and Cox did not practice.

Giants OL can be exploited, especially Diehl at RT. The sad thing is that they're weakest in their secondary and that means Andy and Marty have 13 pages of passing plays in the game plan.

How is Cox still out with a migraine? I've had migraine's my entire life and the longest ones ever lasted is 24 hours.

especially since he returned to cardinal game after suffering it

my biggest worry this game is eli picking apart the eagle secondary...the birds have to blitz a ton...certainly much more often than last week

Diehl has been injured and probably won't play.  The OL has been better since Locklear went back to RT and Beatty came back from injury to regain his LT spot.

The run game has improved dramatically for the Giants with Bradshaw on the bench.  It isn't necessarily that Andre Brown is a better runner, it just seems they've dumb down the blocking assignments since Diehl got hurt.

The last couple of weeks it seems the Giants haven't pulled and trapped as much and instead just have the OL road grading straight ahead and simply hitting the first different colored jersey they see.

And there is our boy DH on screen jersey poppin' the #31 Al Harris at the end of #3 right after they showed Donovan picking up the phone in Giants stadium.

Hey Gene! Man, how great it must be to be a Giants fan? Two times in the last what, four or five years, they've gotten' hot at the right time and rode the wave to win the Superbowl.

Must be nice.

Very nice.  ;)

Nicer still that the organization has taken great pleasure in subtly rubbing into the faces of their tenants at Giants Stadium.

Of course sometimes they will make the first one and miss the second one. But the stats show that kickers are very slightly more likely to make the second one in an end-of-game situation. Mostly, it makes no difference.

It was especially bad in this circumstance because it gave the Giants the ability to rethink kicking it on third down at all.

I died a little with that freezing bullshtein. Good game. They fought for it...got sloppy at the end. I hate Kurt Coleman. I'm starting to jump on the I hate assy bandwagon. Hughes did a nice job. Special teams coverage sucks. I love Jackson and McCoy. The line did the job when they needed to. Cox is a beast man. One last thing. I always think what could have been with every mention of JPP. Oh and Ryans should have picked off the TD pass to Cruz but he hesitated.

Reid did last night what he should have done from week 1 with a bad QB who didn't play in the preseason which is let him manage the game and don't put it on his shoulders and have him make mistakes. Riding the shady train and mixing the runs up is a great strategy for every game and takes the pressure off of Vick.

He always gives the benefit of doubt to the WR's, he's one of the original divas.

Is anyone just impressed as hell with Fletcher Cox?  He's throwing lineman like they're ragdolls, and lets them hang on him and still manages to get the RB.

Cox is going to be something. He was splitting double teams and seems to always get a good push on pass downs.

The other rookies have been getting some humble pie lately though, especially Boykin. I think they didn't look terrible, and showed flashes, but the look like they are on a steeper learning curve that Cox.
Title: Re: Week 4 - NY Giants - Discussion Thread

All things considered, Boykin looks as good as anyone could have hoped he'd look at this point. Then again, he plays in the same secondary as Assy, so maybe it's just grading on a curve.

out of the main guys they are either off putting and annoying (gruden, siragusa, diedorff) or bland and obvious (aikman, simms, moose, dierdorff)

michaels and collinsworth are terrible...i dont even think collinsworth knows what hes saying half the time he just goes off...and michaels is a senile old bitch

the last minute of the game sunday was a calamity....

first they both say the blatant OPI is on assy....then when they are wrong on that cc watches the replay and proceeds to rip the call

then after reid calls the timeout michaels says how much he hates that rule...what rule is that al...the rule that says teams have three timeouts per half?

then when the giants are lining up for the second kick collinsworth is having a back and forth with himself on whether they should run another play

collinsworth: you have to wonder at all if the ginats shouldnt throw a quick pass to the sideline right here
collinsworth: of course the eagles will be sitting on the out breaking routes here (ya think so chris?)

and then michaels comes up with the line of the game immediately after this

michaels: yeah i agree and whos going to throw ball anyway weatherford (the giants holder)

lolol...al i think he was suggesting the giants run another play with their offense on the field...not fake the fg and have the holder throw an "out breaking " route...btw who says "out breaking routes"...ive heard of an out...a down and out a sideline route...but cant say ive heard of one of those out breaking routes
