FARG DALLAS!
BIG MIDDLE FINGER IN THEIR GENERAL DIRECTION
I'm literally all up in Dallas right now.
Ray Diddy on his top 10 Eagles/Dallas games. Don't know how he left the TO returns game - where Lito picked it off at the end to ice the game - off the list but it definitely belongs in the top 10.
Not to mention 44-6 should be top 5

Before clicking the link, in my young mind the top 3 that I can vividly remember are 4th and 1, the Willis pitch to Vincent INT return, and the curb stomping that ended the Cowboys season a couple years ago on that miracle playoff run the Eagles had.
Ah, forgot the Pickle Juice game. That was awesome too

I had the pleasure of being at the Willis/Vincent game. I still see Zordich blitzing and Aikman getting hurried and then sheer silence....
I forget who it was, probably Bobby Taylor, but Irvin had caught a ball and was about to score and Bobby T pushed him oob to save the TD setting up the pick
My family and I were in our original Locker Room (rape basement) watching. I don't know why it stands out so vividly in my mind. I think at that point the Dallas hatred I had been taught all my life finally kicking in, and up until that point I'm pretty sure the Cowboys had owned the Eagles in whatever memory I had. I just remember being so nervous as they drove closer to the end-zone and then freaking out when Willis intercepted the ball...as did everyone else in the room.

Those mid 90's teams battled the Cowboys pretty well and were usually good for a split during the season. It was in the playoffs though that the Cowboys always got the better of the birds. I think they only faced off twice in the playoffs in the 90's, both in the divisional round (and both in Dallas). Eagles lost both games in embarrassing fashion. I know one was after the 93 (Bring it home for Jerome) season and I think the other was 96. I forget the final scores but I know Dallas scored 30+ in each of them and I don't think the Eagles scored more than 14 in either game.
That 96 playoff game was the week after they destroyed Detroit. Rodney Peete was injured early in the game and Randall replaced him. Randall and the birds were horrible that day. If I recall Cunningham missed most of the week of practice. I think his wife gave birth? It was sad as that was his last game as a bird.
And I was there for that one too. 30-11 was the score. After the game I walked down to where the buses were and Charlie Garner was wearing a pink pimp suit.
that was the 1995 season (jan 96) and it was in dallas.

Nobody is buying the idea that they still want him. Not fans, players, the other teams, or Asante. Why even say it? He's either going to play hardish for a new deal with another team next year or he's not.

That's what makes this kind of funny. It's essentially a free agent year for Asante. Dude has to realize that if he goes out and ball hawks that he's going to be able to negotiate a new contract in a sign and trade in the offseason and can get a really nice signing bonus out of it.

There probably is a rift...interesting quote nonetheless.
There farging should be a rift. The tenured coach thinks he's unfireable and hired an OL coach to be defensive coordinator. The FO decided to play Dan Snyder in the off-season. The team on the field is 2-4 with massive gaps in very obvious places. If there wasn't a rift that would be a really bad sign.
Asante is mad, which means he'll probably have a good game this week.
He'll have a pick, three missed tackles and he'll give up a critical touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Getting Maclin hurt on a worthless punt... brilliant.
Now there's time for Vick to take one good shot to the ribs and have to leave the game.
Eric Allen out there with his son, Reno Mahe.

Most rushing yards allowed to a back by DAL since Warrick Dunn had 210 in 2000.
Shady had 185 tonight
Jordan's concussion was the only injury according to Andy
Vick - 28 pass attempts
Shady - 30 carries
I don't think I want Shady carrying the rock 30 times every game, but he needs to get 20+.
Maclin on Rob Ryan; "He ate his words tonight"
lol
Robinson minus that long TD: 4 recs, 33 yds
Bryant: 3 recs, 28 yds
Witten: 4 recs, 28 yds
Austin: 3 recs, 27 yds
Hell of a job by the secondary for all but that one play
Murray had a couple of big carries in the 1st half but they kept him in check early. Once they got up 21-0, he was irrelevant.

7 games in and the coaches finally realized that max protect on O and man coverage on d was the way to go to get the most out of their qb and corners.
They played great in all phases no question, but in no way can I get Gov rendell excited about this. I lean to the latter and so should the st louis rams fans.

I'm not saying they'll make the playoffs or are that great of a team but at least they're playing good football now. When I say good football I mean good fundamentals, tackling well, blocking well, not turning the ball over. The O-line was ridiculous last night.
One of the most impressive things the Eagles did last night was they'd start out in a pro set then the two people in the backfield would shift up to the ends leaving an empty backfield. Dallas couldn't adjust to this because the Eagles made the shift then snapped the ball. Disguising max protect is such an important aspect of the passing game.
IMO, the most impressive thing last night was the 1st series for the defense. Offense just scored and Henery gives Dallas the ball on the 45 by kicking oob. I don't think there was a person watching the game who thought that the Cowboys weren't at least going to get a FG out of it, especially when Dallas picked up a first down relatively easily with their first 2 plays. Then the front 4 got to Romo twice and forced a punt.
The D stepped up in a tough spot to start the game and kept Dallas off the scoreboard and it was all downhill from there.
Good point Sarge. That first defensive stand was huge. Back to back sacks on Romo and 0 points after gifting them great field position just set the tone. Awesome night of football.
Last night was fun, but I am pretty sure they get run off the field next week by a good Chicago team coming off the bye. Forte is going to eat them alive.
Man, what a game. Dallas was never even in it, it was all Eagles right from the kickoff. It was too the point in the 4th that I didn't want the blowboys to score just so the egg stayed on the board.

They should be able to stack the box, Chicago doesn't exactly have wrs that scare you.
I agree that they should be able to stack the box. But I still don't trust the line to stop the run or the linebackers to hit puberty prior to that game.
Is there anything more Shady could do for this team?? He's Bwest without the injuries. He carved the Dallas D up with the quickness. I also like the fact that it looks like they are working Celek back into the offense, he was gone for a while.
Chaney had a half decent game, I thought, which probably means he had the best game of any Eagles linebacker in the last five years.
I think the LBs did ok in coverage, but Romo wasn't exactly laser-sighted in his short-range passes. Murray also basically averaged 10 yards a carry. If the Cowboys don't fall behind so quickly last night, I'm pretty sure we would have seen Murray run all over god's green earth.
This defense is designed to play with a lead and attack / disrupt the QB (and even that they failed at twice this year). Stopping the run, which is all the Bears do, is a total mystery to them.

When Shady attacks the hole like he did last night, he's unbelievable. Sometimes he hesitates and dances a little too much behind the line and the hole closes before he gets through it. Last night he attacked and took whatever the defense gave him. If it was only a couple of yards, he still took it. And when the line sealed everything off perfectly, he exploded through the hole for big gains. The only times he danced around in the backfield was when Dallas got some penetration and Shady had to improv to get out of it...which he usually did.
He's def a better overall runner than Westbrook was, which is saying something because Westy was pretty damn good in his own right. But Shady is off the charts good.
yeah there's something about vick and night games. i think they beat the bears easily.
I hope you're right. That shtein was fun to watch and it's obvious that they can win and win easily when they play to their potential, I just really don't like this Bears matchup.

Cutler is Tony Romo with a stronger arm and worse receivers. He's still a turnover machine and the Bears o-line is not good with pass protection.
I'm more concerned with the Bears defense because they have (gasp) linebackurz who can do everything. Good thing Celek got his yards and a score last night because he ain't gonna get many looks next week.
You're already having nightmares about Jay Cutler swallowing up the entire defense in his neck, aren't you.

I think Westbrook was a bit faster/quicker....but Shady just has much sharper cuts, much more agile (which, as you said, is saying something because Westbrook had ridiculous agility and cutting ability). Westbrook did the short cut and burst thing, while Shady just flat out Barry Sanders people and goes completely lateral to get around guys.
I think at this point you have to say Shady is at least as good as Westbrook was, and probably can be labeled as better before years end if he can stay healthy.

He's def a better overall runner than Westbrook was, which is saying something because Westy was pretty damn good in his own right. But Shady is off the charts good.
Yeah, Westy probably had the speed advantage (no idea what their 40 times are to compare) but Shady's cuts and acceleration is other worldly. Even when he stops to change direction it doesn't seem like he slows down at all.
This is the part in the annual story that raises great expectations on the road to a January bleak house. It has the inevitability of either Lucy yanking the football or a Sophoclean tragedy.
They're definitely gonna' have to guard against a letdown after that game. Keep the same gameplan on offense, please. Shady got the ball 30 times to Vick throwing it 28 times. Unlike the usual Reid game. Hopefully the walrus continues to give him the rock. You don't have to throw the ball 40 times when you have a player like Shady in the backfield. It was a perfectly balanced offense. The o-line was opening up some nice holes, and a few times Shady was running through big holes in the A and B gaps. That shtein was unheard of the last three years. Is the d-line of Dallas that fargin' bad or have the Eagles come together a bit? Dallas was thought to be the best team in a crappy division, so I don't know how much you can look into a line that played better than they have at any time this season.
If I never hear the words 'Shady' or 'Pimp' again I think I'll die happy.
Vick and Celek both had great lines from last nights game.
Vick: 21 for 28, 279 yds. and a td.
Celek: 7 recpts. for 94 yds. and a td.
I loved the way the D played, the way Shady ran over the Dallas D, and a very accurate passing game from Vick, but what I really took from last nights game was the re-emergence of Celek into this offense. When he plays like he did last night the Eagles have potent weapons from every skill set on the offense. I don't know were he was last year, but I'm glad to see him back.
Ha, I'm watching my tivo of the game and loving too see Asomugha hooking Bryant, and then seeing him and Romo crying, then Romo gets sacked on the next play and has to turn the ball over on downs. It's a beautiful thing.
You probably noticed this last night at the game or maybe you didn't but Romo and Witten were bitching to the refs after every series.
Yeah, I saw them crying, especially Romo.

Which section were you in? I was in 224 row 10, the section over from me in the nosebleeds saw a lot of action. There were 3 or 4 Dallas fans tossed. The one kid got mouthy going down the stairs and had 5 beers tossed at him. There were 3 or 4 Dallas fans in our section, the one is this black chick who's at the Eagles/Dalas game every year. I have no problem with her, she's friendly and not obnoxious regardless of the situation. The other 2 were quiet probably because they were getting beat so bad. There was this annoying fat chick in the first row who couldn't take the taunting. She started giving people the finger when shtein went bad and had a couple of beers tossed at her.
To be fair, I've been known to give fellow Eagles fans the standing finger at the Linc because they were a bunch of whiney soft ass cheese eating doucheeaters. Sometimes people just deserve the finger regardless of who they root for.

241, row 18. I'd have liked to have been closer to the 50 and down a bit, but they were fine. A girl up behind us called security because she said she was getting felt up by three guys when she got her fat ass up in the middle of that action to go...somewere...probably to get a cheesesteak. Security didn't know who to believe, so they tossed the guys and the girl also.
As poorly as Dallas looked, their next five games are:
Seattle
Buffalo
@ Washington
Miami
@ Arizona
If they come out of that stretch at less than 7-5 I will be surprised.
Eagles:
Bears
Cardinals
@ Giants
Patriots
@ Seattle
I could easily see them losing 2 or 3 of those and being or 6-6 or 5-7
Giants:
@ New England
@ San Fran
Eagles
@ New Orleans
Packers
shtein, they could go 0-5. Lets say 1-4. = 6-6
taterskins:
Who gives a farg they start John Beck.
I think Dallas could being division leader December 5th is a very likely scenario.
0% they play clean for 5 weeks in a row
theyll lose 2/3 to buf, @ wsh and @ arz....3-2 in that stretch. book it.

I've probably been to at least half of the Eagles/dallas Reid era home games, but the 44-6 is my favorite, maybe my all time favorite.

farg Dallas. There I said it. Good Night.
Sheldon murders Reggie Swinton @ approx 1:13.....
That was a great game. Swinton got plastered twice in it, not sure but might have been Brown that got him a second time, too.
Yeah, it was Brown.
