Title: Vandalism, Pranks and Fun

I read this article and I got to thinking about the good old days. We did a lot of farged up shtein. I was laughing hysterically at some of the stuff these kids did. The people who commented are iceholes for the most part.

Any of you do any farged up shtein as kids?

Saran wrapping someone's car is funny.  Rearranging their patio furniture is ok too I guess.  But streching duct tape arcross a road so that motorcyclists can get clotheslined by it isn't a funny, creative or even childish thinking.  It's dumb and life threatening.  Tampering with a little kid's swingset?  Bitchmade.  And smashing mailboxes is criminal.  Farging nitwits.

I might kill a farger if they did that to my kids' swingset.

I had a friend who would drive up to people's lawns, and peel out and leave their lawn all farged up. He was an a-hole.

TP'ing someone's house was always fun though.

Mail boxes seemed to be our target of choice. I remember their being 15 with posts in the back of my friend's mom's station wagon one night.

Truth...we got caught. Luckily we were barely 16 so instead of sending us to prison for a felony, we had to go to each house individually to apologize and pay for the damages

Close to 35 years ago. The kid's who's wagon we were tooling around in was the son of a juvenile court judge. He's a priest now.

In the summer, we used to drive around neighborhoods late at night when it was garbage day and look for the big stuff that people put out that was still in good shape. That'd be couches, coffee tables, chairs, etc. One time we got enough where we basically arranged an entire living room in some guys front lawn which he'd come out and see the next day. Stupid as hell, but I thought it was pretty funny.

We used to take animal lawn ornaments and put them into various sex positions, find out which neighborhood kids were sleeping outside in tents and then go egg the shtein out of them and one of my buddies wanted to imitate the flaming bag of shtein prank that Sandler does in Billy Madison.

it was about 4am when he did it and we sat across the street and watched. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to break a rib.

On Mischief Night we would throw corn at peoples houses.  We would spend days stealing it from the farmers fields and shelling it into a garbage cans for "ammo".

Other than mischief night, me and my buddies didn't pull too many pranks where we farged with other people's shtein.  But when I was about 10, there was this one kid that no one really liked and we were positive he stole some of our GI Joes.  He lived in this apt building that used to be an old town hall or something but had been converted and had like maybe 15 apartments in it.  So we decided that we were going to drop a stink bomb through the mail slot of his apartment.  Only problem was we didn't know which apartment was his.....so we dropped one in every apartment just to be safe.

It was pretty stupid looking back on it because I guess we could have easily burned that building to the ground.  But damn it was hilarious at the time.

The stuff they grow for the cows.  Its hard and would make a ton of racket when 5 or 6 kids chucked it at the windows of a house all at once.  Harmless fun.  Neighbors were cool about it too.  Guess they figured worse thing were going on in other neighborhoods that night.

Anybody else do this on mischief night.  I know BigEd must know this tradition.

The worst we did was fill three fire extinguishers with milk in August, and then sprayed someone's car with it on Mischief night.
Christ it stank.

a girl and I talked security into letting us into the assistant dean's office in college.  His office was right across the hall from the other assistant dean (or whatever he was called, I forget--he handled discipline).

we spent three hours or so meticulously swapping the two office...down to the dead leaves that had fallen into the windowsill from a plant in the assistant dean's office.  swapped post-it notes into the same relative position in the new room, swapped name plates, everything.  the room were not the same size but we lucked out that the desks were the same make, so all we had to do was swap drawers, not remove everthing from each one.

they were pretty freaked out at first, but we went to a good college and after the initial shock, they settled down and laughed.  And then just decided to keep the new arrangement.

it was one of the better pranks in years

If they didn't end up wasting hours of time un-doing the work that you and your accomplice did, it isn't a prank.  It's free labor.

I could probably write a book on this topic.....however some people might find a lot of it offensive.  Looking back on it now while some of the shtein is still hilarious some was just plain awful.

The lawn living room kind of reminds me we one time pushed a guys Honda Civic from the street to his front door.  We pushed it by using another car.  It didn't seem like it damaged the vehicle but we were drunk and it was dark.  The alarm started going off so I would imagine the guy had a rude awakening.

When I was 22 years old (or so), I came out of a movie one night and saw someone had left their headlights on.  They were lit but dim.  I left a note on the dashboard:

You left your lights on, icehole.

I thought that was the funniest thing ever for a few weeks.

Yeah its amazing the crap you will find funny as a high school/college student.  That also reminds me I had two buddies that would go to the mall and by porn mags and then find a car that had a kids seat or something that a geriatric would drive and put the nastiest pics all over the car.

Funny at the time, but I don't know that a toddler needs to see double penetration.

I actually forgot I did this, but in my late teens Id rip the pics out of porn mags and put them randomly inside the bibles in hotel rooms.

I really came into my own with pranks in my mid 20s. I'll post some of them when I'm nor feeling lazy.

Once we had found a little girl's bike that someone was going to throw away. We went to our buddies, and someone climbed up like 15 feet into a tree in his front yard and stuck it in the branches. His neighbor called the cops.

Hahahaha that reminded me of when me an buddies were hanging out on the stoop after a party in college. We were just drinking beer, and throwing bottle rockets up in the air when some other kid rode his bike by. We lit some roman candles and shot those at him. Instead of pedalling faster, the idiot drops his bike and runs. So we threw it up in our tree. It was still there a couple nights later when we saw the people down the block were having a couch fire so we got the bike out of the tree, walked it down to the fire, and asked if they cared if we threw the bike in the fire. They didn't.

Some of the worst shtein I did went to my great grandmother who was 93 and basically losing her mind. My mom brought her in to our home because my grandmother couldnt take the constant, and I mean constant complaining from her anymore. So instead of the old folks home, my mom took her in.

Picture a 240lb italian woman who sat in the same sofa chair every day all day, picking at the hair on her upper lip and truly despised showering. Just some of shtein we pulled were:

--We constantly put boogers in her Mcdonalds french fries as we watched her thoroughly enjoy each bite.
--We set up stereo speakers to her ears when she was sleeping and blasted Motley Crue to watch her freak her out and call for gods help.
--She couldnt walk down the stairs in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, so she used to squat down and pee in a big black bucket. Sad part is my brother and I were right next to her room and we would hear that piss sound every friggin night. One night we couldnt take it anymore and decided to not only cover that bucket with saran wrap, but chuck GI Joes and wiffle balls at her until she fell over crying.

I love you gram. Im going to hell I know.

We used to tie decently heavy fishing line to the knockers on people's doors at night, around 9 or so.. We would then walk the line out away from the house, and hide behind a bush or a car. We'd pull the line and make the knocker knock twice or three times, then let the line go completely slack. People would answer the door, see no one there, and close it. On the second or third time, they'd sure enough stick their head out to look around for the punks doing knock knock zoom, and at that point we'd pull the string as hard as we could, slamming their head/hand in the door, then run like hell. Sometimes the person would walk out of the house, and we'd slam the door so farging hard they'd jump out of their skin.

We also caught shtein loads of frogs in a pond not far from our house, and dumped them in a neighbor's pool the night before they were having a pool party for their bitch daughter's sweet sixteen. Probably 20-30 good sized bull frogs.

We used to mass gigantic piles of trash in front of peoples houses, basically go through a cult-de-sac and amass all the trash people had put out, and then dump it all in one big pile of one of the houses, sometimes directly behind the driveway.

Not much snow in Hawaii growing up so it was fruit from neighbors trees - limes, mangoes even footballs and volleyballs.  We'd hang out at the corner and peg cars all night.  We'd actually keep score like QB passer rating.  My freshmen year in college at Univ of New Hampshire we use to sit out by the dorms, make a pile of snowballs after a nice snowfall and just drill cars going by.  Guys would pull up chairs with a 6 pack, a bag of pretzels and watch like they were at a sporting event.  Best part was you'd occasionally hit a car that was being driven by a friend.  "Oops, our bad".

You're so right SD, it was funny then and it's even funnier now.

The first concert I ever went to was at the Spectrum with my buddy Jon and my sister. We took the train to the Reading terminal and went to the McDonalds a few doors down on Market Street. There was this cop standing in the back watching over the place. Not some rental security guy, he was a big ugly Philly cop during the Republic of Rizzo era, and generally you were best off not even making eye contact, especially if you came well equipped for a Spectrum concert.

However all three of us had significant, almost pathological, authority issues. We decided to take the table a few feet in front of the cop and see what would happen.

Less than a half a burger into eating, my sister draws milkshake up into the straw and releasing it spells out "I HATE PIGS"  across the middle of the table in 8 inch vanilla white letters. She had the whole thing written before the cop saw it. (Note to youngins of the board - 'pigs' was derogatory slang for a duly sworn officer of the law).

The cop bellows out "HEY WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" And my sister looks him right in the eye and says "it just spilled out like that."

We had numerous instances of run ins with police folk ranging from fairly mild... like during a snowball fight, a Philly police van comes screaming lights and sirens down the street. I obviously get a free pot shot whaling a well packed iceball against the van's driverside window because it's an emergency and they can't stop, right? Wrong)...  to more extreme stuff which I probably won't post because people won't believe it. On a side note, I am a firm believer in guardian angels.

But the irony is my sister has been a Miami cop for well over 20 years now, and I sometimes go down and ride with her for the day. At one point as a teen I got caught doing some shtein, so my parents made me choose something to pay society back. I volunteered for a few years with the local paramedic ambulance squad and doing so I got to be friends with a number of cops and firefighters. Funny how things turn out.
